after debuting as a k-pop idol at the age of fourteen in a group of five, being the only mixed-gender group under hybe  and setting several records with their music, it was about time aera wanted to set her wings free and take off for a huge flight– a big step of her life and a big decision for her career, as her members too, were set on their solo careers lately.

jihun has been gaining tremendous success in the acting field and doing occasional songs. he had already finished shooting one of his signed dramas and was now casting in a movie as the male lead. the fans loved his work and it showed some time later when he was awarded for his great acting in his debut drama and was nominated for more awards.

mia and clay too, have recently dropped their new albums. mia's being a pure korean full length album with one of the biggest hits of the season, and clay's being a mixed english and korean remixes of his original creations. both the works were loved by the fans and aera knew this for the releasing of them both was highly anticipated and became some of the most streamed songs of the year.

then jake was trying his hand out in production and also released a mixtape of his own, did a big collab with steve aoki and topped charts with the song. ever since his big release, the boy had also been excited and readily convincing aera that it's her time now, and she should work in the direction of her solo career too like the rest of them. the girl knew he was right, but she did need some guidance, so she insisted on seeing her members first and have a word. it was still back in june before her eighteenth birthday.

jihun and mia wore the widest smiles when they came to know their maknae was actually thinking of making her own album, and clay had hugging aera tightly, reserving his first order for the album and the photo books. then there was jake, who said nothing but his smile to her conveyed how happy and proud he was with her decision.

ever since that day, aera has been putting in her everything to come up with ideas for her album, writing lyrics, thinking, listening, observing and brainstorming every day and every night, so she could make her fans proud like her elders did, be it her own members or her brothers' group. with all the effort being put together throughout the six months, it was about time aera was ready to drop her much awaited album.

"i feel like my heart will jump out..." she mumbles, burying her face in her hands while jake is sitting on his chair and clay leaning leaning over his shoulder, both having their eyes pinned on the screen of the computer, refreshing in an interval of each minute. "why's jihun oppa and unnie not here... gosh! i told you i need them!"

"hey relax, hyung called me and said that you shouldn't worry too much," clay says, patting the girl's head and hands her his cup of coffee.

"i don't know just call them here right now or i'm gonna cancel everything!"

"stop acting like a child," jake rolls his eyes, turning around as he rotates his chair and crosses his arms on his chest, "you're eighteen now, behave like that."

"shut up or i'm gonna sew your fucking mouth!"

"i am older than you!"

"that's just a few months you chimpanzee!"

"still older you crazy frog!"

"...a frog?" aera makes a weird face, "ew a frog? are you for real?"

"guys! it's up!" clay gasps, clicking on the mouse and opens up the label's official channel, aera goes through the tracklist for the n'th time, sighing deeply to herself then closes the site and leans back in her place.

"what? are you not happy?"

"i am, but it's just... i don't know if people will like it or not... you both did so amazing, jihun oppa and unnie too. but what if i mess up? what if they don't like my work and just think that i'm holding you guys back? i already have a lot of haters because of being associated with bts, and now this... if i fail, guys what am i gonna do? i don't wanna–"

"shh," jake cups her face, leaning forward in his chair and looks at her straight in the eyes, "believe in yourself, you'll kill it. we've seen you working day and night for this, ri. even if they don't think as great as we want them to, it's fine. we know how much you  worked hard. you know your efforts. and that is more than enough."

"he's right, aera. no matter the world says, you'll be the star in our eyes, in hyung's and noona's eyes, your brothers' eyes. we all are your biggest fans and the first supporters, remember that."

aera nods slowly, leaning near the two and hugs them, sniffing softly in the fabric of clay's jacket, "i love you both... thank you so much,"

"no problem, little girl,"

"excuse me?" she pulls away, giving a what-the-fuck look to jake who laughs at her, giving a high-five to clay. aera shakes her head, not responding to them as her phone rings and she sees it's jungkook, making her smile instantly and she answers, "oppaaaa! oh my god! did you see that?! my album– my first ever album is out ahhh!" she shrieks and hears the brother laughing on the line.

"yes, i was waiting for that actually. where are you?"

"oh in jake's studio, clay is here too." she says, "no wait, you tell me where are you?"

"i just arrived," he says, "are you free right now? wanna join us for lunch?"

"yeah sure," she chimes, standing up and waves at the boys, mouthing to them that she'll be meeting up with bts for lunch. clay nods in response, giving her a brief hug and congratulates her for first album, and so does jake with an extra effort to kiss her cheek with a grin. "yah! get away you're so weird!"

"i love you too, bye," he winks at her and pushes her out of the door, locking it again, making her sigh.

"that dude can never stop can he?" jungkook hisses on the phone and aera laughs.

"you do know people ship us right?" she snickers, "me and clay too,"

"yeah, they've got their head messed up. how can they not see you're still a child, this is illegal and immoral."

"i'm eighteen," she states, shaking her head and presses the button of the elevator, almost stepping in without realising txt's yeonjun and kai are there too, "oh hello," she bows to the two, smiling when they bow too in return.

"congratulations on your new album," yeonjun says, "i've heard the songs, they're great,"

"yeah right, your fans are definitely gonna love it," huening kai says, shaking hands with aera, making her a little shy as she smiles softly, mumbling a thanks to them. the two exit the elevator, leaving aera alone to freak out and squeal in excitement at the same time, forgetting that she's got her brother listening on the call.

"never knew you loved yeonjun so much,"

"oh please! he's everyone's crush," she says, "but anyway, have you heard the songs?"

"not all," jungkook says, "we've been a little busy with the comeback,"

"wait... did i release my album when you have a comeback?!"

"i guess so, why?"

"nooo! there's no way i'm gonna survive then. bts is always the best, nobody will even look at my little album. even i wouldn't look at my album if there's bts next to it!" she groans, "how can i be so stupid?! argh!"

"you are stupid if you think that y'know?"

aera sighs at his words, stepping out of the elevator and heads towards bts' studio. raking a hand through hair, she does them loosely into a bun and adjusts her tank top and pants, pulling the joggers a little up on her waist before knocking on the door. when receiving a positive word from inside, aera opens the door, realising it's open and peeks her head in with a smile not entering all at once.

"hi..." she speaks softly with a wide grin, waving at the elders and steps inside the studio, closing the door behind her and slides her phone in her pocket, pulling up the pants again as it's a little a loose on her tiny waist.

"hey! here's our little girl," jin chirps, hugging her first tightly, "i'm so proud aera,"

"thank you," she smiles warmly at him, then hugs the next person, yoongi, almost throwing herself in his arms, "i was calling you why didn't you answer?"

"i was in a meeting," he says, patting her back and pulls away, holding his phone as he taps a few times to open twitter, "you're trending,"

aera gasps, taking the phone and refreshes the page again, seeing posts as she scrolls a little where her fans have shared screenshots of different websites and platforms where aera's already trending. she smiles at the sight of the tremendous support she's recieving and the positive review for her album so far. an arm wraps around her, making her look up and instantly breaking into a smile, hugging jimin tightly, "they like it..." she whispers with tears brimming her eyes while her phone goes off with a couple of notifications which she's sure is from her members who must be sharing her the posts to encourage her and let her know that her hard work didn't go in vain.

"of course they like it," jimin ruffles her hair, "riri worked so hard for this, and i'm so proud,"

"thank you oppa, i'm so happy," she rubs her eyes, burying her face in his chest, hearing light chuckles from the boys, "i was–" the ringing of her phone, interrupts her voice, but there's no discontentment shown as the caller id shows her unnie's name.

"ah hello unnie," she chirps, glancing at the elder brother with her eyes virtually asking him to give her a minute.

"aera the album! i'm so happy for you! i'm sure this is gonna be a big hit!"

"well, technically every release from bighit should be a big hit," aera jokes, making the elder girl laugh and bts smiles, "anyway, where are you right now?"

"busy with a shoot," she sighs, "but i'll be back in two days. jihun is arriving today though, by evening i guess,"

"really? and he didn't tell me? that's very bad, i gotta talk to him," arra huffs, "he better be ready to compensate this,"

"what? are you gonna make him pay now?"

"obviously," aera giggles, taking a seat next to jimin and gestures for the boys to sit as well, "unnie, i'm with bts right now. i'll call you later okay?"

"sure, have fun," mia smiles through her words before hanging up and aera puts her down finally, getting all her attention on her the boys. "so... what are we gonna do now?"

"lunch?" jungkook shrugs, "oh and play your songs,"

"ah noooo! i feel weird," aera scrunches up her face, "let's play your music,"

"nope, songs from your album because it's your day." jungkook says, standing up and goes to his computer, adjusting the volume of the speakers and connects his phone, being too lazy to put it from the computer. "any requests?"

"rockabye? or no lie?" taehyung says, glancing at aera who pouts, thinking hard and shakes her head, "then what?"

"uhm starving?"

"nice," he nods, "jungkook put that on,"

jungkook scoffs and puts on the song that he wanted ever since the beginning, earning an annoyed glance from both taehyung and aera as they complain about why he asked their opinion if he already knew which song to play. jungkook smiles smugly, sitting on the empty space next to aera and crosses his arms on the chest, "this is my personal favourite," he states when 'f***, i'm lonely' starts playing and aera rolls her eyes.

"that's because you sang it with me,"

"yeah exactly," he smiles wider and grabs the nearest hyung's phone, "okay, now tell me what everyone wants to eat? let's order real quick, i'm hungry,"

"you can't even eat," taehyung scoffs mockingly and turns to aera, "that reminds me of– i hope you're not on a diet too..?"

"i... kinda am... but that's okay, i'm gonna eat today." aera leans on the table and looks at jimin with a grin, "i'll eat what oppa eats,"

"oppa's gonna have what kook will have," jungkook smirks at her, "so you'll eat what i eat,"

"nooo! me and jimin oppa will eat the same food, you eat grass," she huffs, leaning against jimin's chair and sticks her tongue out at jungkook who mocks back at her, while the hyungs smile watching them.

"i can't believe my ri's eighteen now," jimin's voice comes in between as he wraps his arm around the young girl and presses a kiss on her forehead, "it feels like i held you for the first time just yesterday, and now... you're already working and living away from me. you grew up so fast kiddo,"

"but– yeah, but oppa look, now i'm an adult and i said i wanted to be eighteen when i came to know that koo's eighteen, and i was like... what seven? eight-ish?"

"yeah," jimin chuckles, hugging her tightly, "some things don't change,"

"yes, i wanted to say that but i couldn't, y'know i'm bad with words. jake keeps teasing me about it,"

"let him say what he wants," jimin smiles, "the things is we can understand what you're trying to say, so there's no communication gap."

"yeah, that's what is important,"

"okay, enough 'two' siblings," jungkook rolls his eyes, staring at the phone in his hands, "i've ordered by myself since nobody told me, and now you little girl will get what i've ordered for you."

"what?"

"vegeta–"

"nooo! are you stupid? and what will you eat?"

"chicken," he smirks.

"and for me you've ordered vegies?" aera pulls away from jimin and stands up, glaring at jungkook who stared at her amusedly, "fight me but i won't eat vegies,"

"you wanna fight me?" jungkook lets out an airy chuckle, standing up and rolls up his sleeves nodding his head as he looks down at her, standing tall over her short, petite body, suppressing the urge to laugh at the change of her expression. "yeah, c'mon, i'm ready,"

the pout never leaves her lips as she turns around to look at jimin, pointing at jungkook and her eyes virtually whining in complain to the eldest brother, "you challenged him," jimin chuckles, "what am i supposed to do?"

"so can i hit him?"

"he's jeon jungkook, maknae of bts, owner of gcf, the sexiest man alive, trained in boxing and taekwondo and oh– he's your senior and also your brother," taehyung snickers, "are you sure you wanna fight him?"

"i'm jeon aera, maknae of vns, owner of... owner of... not anything yet, but i'm everyone's princess, trained in boxing and taekwondo too, and oh– i'm his junior and also his sister. does he wanna fight me?" aera recites.

"wah..." the elder members give her impressed smiles and nod in approval.

"well if you did that to scare me... then... it worked," jungkook sighs, giving up and sits down on his place while aera does a mini 'yes!' and turns to the members smirking proudly at her victory.

"i'm gonna tell everybody that jeon jungkook is scared of me," she announces and jungkook nods slowly, "you have no idea i'm so powerful,"

"really? what can you do?"

"well i just scared you duh," she shrugs and jimin bursts out laughing with the rest of the members whereas jungkook lowers his head, his cheeks colored with a hint of embarrassment and also a deep urge of hugging his little sister. "but no, on a serious note, koo you're so strong. if you weren't my brother i wouldn't get in trouble with you. what if you threw me away?"

"why would i do that?" jungkook snorts, shaking his head as he stares at aera in disbelief, "you're weird."

"you need to stop working out. have you seen those memes about your buttons? i mean the button of your shirts— they work so hard to keep your shirt together even when you breathe?" aera laughs.

"ah right! i've seen those!" taehyung joins as well, "they say your buttons have the toughest and the most important work in the entire world,"

"my... buttons?" jungkook arches up his brows getting nods of confirmation from taehyung and aera.

"and have you seen that about– no leave it," she snickers, covering her mouth to press in her laugh and stands up, going near taehyung to whisper it in his ear, making him laugh loudly.

"oh my god! aera! you've gotta share the memes with me!"

"sure," she nods, giving him a high-five and goes back to her seat.

"what is it?" jungkook asks dumbfounded and aera shrugs.

"nothing you should bother about, right tae oppa?"

"absolutely," taehyung presses his lips together, trying his best to hold in his laugh but fails. a knock on the door diverts the subject as jungkook gets up, knowing their lunch has arrived.

"i have a shoot after this and i need to fit in the dress they give me," aera mumbles, staring at the food right in front of her and sighs, shaking her head, "fuck it, i'll eat. nobody tell manager nim okay?"

"do not curse," jimin says from the side and aera chokes on the food, eyes rotating slowly to glance at him and gulps.

"i'm a rapp–"

"your album has no rap songs in it,"

"i- i was saying i have a rapper within me, right rapper oppas?"

"yes," the three nod but then hoseok chimes in, "still riri, you shouldn't curse."

yoongi scoffs at the advice and looks at aera with a half smirk, "you can curse all you want and do it like you're about spit fire."

"exactly," namjoon agrees, "soon i'm expecting a mixtape from you and you've to come back the hustler you are."

"yes! i'm so motivated that i can release twenty songs tomorrow," aera announces, slamming her hands on the table, "next one will be a rapper aera, be ready!"

"that's our girl," yoongi nods proudly and namjoon and hoseok clap their hands for her along with taehyung and jungkook, while jin and jimin just stare at them with questioning looks.

"yes! put your motherfucking hands up!"

"aera, i said no cursing."

"oops! fuck i'm sorry... oh sit! no! i mean wait– fuck– jesus christ what the fuck is happening?! i don't mean it oppa, i promise!"
