9: Cuddles

┌────── ⋆⋅✦⋅⋆ ──────┐

Jin and Yoongi were the best cooks in the world. They were, perhaps, the reason Bangtan stayed together as a team. Good food makes everything better. You weren't the best cook and usually survived on ramen and takeouts.

Everyone at the table was chatting happily, but you didn't feel out of place. It was a novel experience for you, but it was a good one. You weren't one to talk much, but you took part in the conversations that interested you.

"Me, Tae and Jungkook are going to play games after this. Does anyone else want to join?" Jimin asked.

"I was playing games the whole night, but take Yeona with you." Jin said.

You look up from your plate, almost choking on your food. After eating, you were planning on rolling in bed with your phone. You didn't want to play games. You didn't know how to play games. The only game you had ever played was Candy Crush, in which you couldn't get past level 30. So you stopped playing it. Jungkook, Jimin and Taehyung had experience in playing games. You didn't want to embarrass yourself in front of them. You would get plenty of opportunities later.

"Why me?" You ask, gulping the food down.

"Come on," Jungkook said. "It'll be fun."

"I don't know how to play." You say, trying to get out of the situation Jin put you in. You slip the elder a discreet glare, but he notices and smiles at you. There was no way out of this situation.

"It's okay, we can teach you." Jimin said, offering you a smile. His plump lips transformed into the most attractive smile you had ever seen.

Your gaze travels across the table. All the Bangtan members were really attractive. But a feature stood out for everyone. For Namjoon, it was his brown almond-shaped mono lids. It was Jin's facial symmetry. Yoongi's doll lips were bewitching. Hoseok had an amazing side profile. Jimin's long eyes. Taehyung's well defined face. Everything just fit. Nothing seemed out of place. And Jungkook's uneven lips.

You sigh and nod. Jungkook gave you a thumbs up. You mentally prepare yourself for the embarrassment you were to face soon.

After finishing your food, you get up and put your plate in the dishwasher. Jungkook, Taehyung and Jimin were waiting for you.

The living room, unlike the rest of the house, wasn't pastel. It had some wood covering the pink walls. A huge TV with a home theatre system and blue leather couches. There was an oak dining table which Taehyung was using to rest his feet. It looked expensive.

"Basically, you have to move, take aim and then press this button," Jungkook explained, pointing at the small yellow button at the edge of the remote control. "And shoot. Got it?"

You nod. You had understood what Jungkook was trying to tell you, but you weren't sure you would be able to implement it when you were playing. You had to try at least.

"We'll play in teams." Taehyung said.

"How are we going to divide?" Jimin asked, lounging on the couch, his right leg crossed over the other.

"By age. You and me, and Jungkook and Yeona."

You sit beside Jungkook, holding the controller tightly in your hands. You had to just kill the people from the other team, which were Taehyung and Jimin. Killing people is where you shine. It won't be that hard. You won't be that bad.

Update: you were terrible. So bad that you accidentally shot yourself and died. Jungkook was close to tears seeing your poor performance. Jimin and Taehyung were also in tears- from laughing so much. You knew this was a bad idea.

"How do you shoot yourself?" Jimin asks between giggles.

"I didn't know that I pointed the muzzle towards myself!" You protest. "This is my first time playing. It's not my fault I'm so bad."

Taehyung laughs. "You need private training, you are so bad."

"No thank you, I'll just stick to real guns."

Jimin curses when Jungkook kills him. Jungkook was just as good as you were bad. No one killed him yet. He was the undefeated champion. Taehyung and Jungkook were battling each other, and Jimin was hyping them up.

Yoongi came out of his room and sat beside you. "You lost?"

"I killed myself." You answer. He chuckled.

In the end, Jungkook obviously won. This caused Taehyung to let out a string of profanities. A few of them were quite creative. Especially the places Taehyung was thinking of sticking Jungkook's controller. You try to control your laughter. But a laugh escapes.

Jungkook fell back on the couch. "This is how you play. You little kid."

"I'm not a little kid. I'm twenty, as old as you. Just because I'm short, you can't misage me." Was misage a word?

The boys started laughing. You playfully glare at them. Yoongi gets up.

"Hyung, where are you going?" Taehyung asks.

"For a walk." He responds.

"Be careful, or else someone will kidnap you." You say.

Jimin and Jungkook laugh. Taehyung sighs. "You are still not over that?"

"Just because I understand your intentions doesn't mean I appreciate them."

"I'm hungry." Jungkook said.

You weren't hungry, but you wouldn't find food. It was and is your first love. You would die without it, literally.

Jungkook got up to get snacks. He got snacks for everyone. Even Taehyung and Jimin were hungry. Everyone hungrily tucked in and the snacks were finished in no time.

"Hey, Jungkook, do you call Taehyung Tae-hyung or Taehyung hyung?" You wonder aloud.

Jungkook looked at you with his eyes wide and eyebrows raised. Jimin and Taehyung were also struck by the question. You were curious.

"That's an odd question." Taehyung muttered, looking baffled.

"Yes, what do you call him?" Jimin asks, suddenly wondering about the same thing once you had said it out loud.

"Taehyung hyung... I think." Jungkook said, his brows scrunched in concentration. "Yeah, that's what I call him."

"Why the sudden question?" Jimin asked.

"It just crossed my mind." You shrug.

You go to your room after a while. You had enjoyed the afternoon with Jungkook, Jimin and Taehyung, but you needed some time alone. Not that you needed time to think, you just enjoyed being alone, and you were used to it. Many people didn't enjoy being alone. If you can't be alone, you don't really know yourself.

You remove your jacket and crawl into bed. The sun had started to set. You both loved and hated nights. You loved them for the peaceful atmosphere, but you hated them because of nightmares.

You scroll through your phone as you had initially planned on doing. Laying in bed for a while makes you sleepy. You almost fell asleep when someone knocked on the door. It was Jimin.

"Dinner's ready. Are you going to come, or should I tell Jin hyung to send some for you?"

"I'm coming," you say.

Dinner was a friendly affair. You were enjoying your time with Bangtan. Jungkook was annoying Jin. Namjoon was being annoyed by Taehyung and Yoongi and Jimin were playfully bickering, while Hoseok and you were laughing so hard you couldn't breathe.

You lost track of time as you sat there enjoying the feeling of being surrounded by people. Within the one day you had arrived, there were many new things you had experienced, and none of them were regretful.

After dinner, you head to your room again to sleep. You were dreading this a little. Nevertheless, you had to sleep.

You change into your nightclothes and get into bed. You couldn't sleep at first, but eventually you fall asleep staring at the cream sheets draped over you.

You drift into your usual dream.

It was the dark, starless night, you remember vividly. It was past midnight, but you weren't sleeping. You were running. You try to increase your pace.

You keep looking over your shoulder, not to see if any of your father's men were behind you, but to get a glimpse of your brother, Hanjae. He was supposed to be there with you, escaping together.

You hide behind a wall. You can see your brother back. Your heart leaps. He was coming!

Then you hear the sound you dreaded then, but have grown used to hearing now. A gunshot. You see your brother's body fall down with a grateful arc. Blood stained his shirt, his eyes open. He won't be able to close them again.

You do the only thing you knew at the time, run. You run as fast as you can. It was your father who killed your brother, and you were going to have your revenge.

You wake up with Taehyung beside you, holding you tightly, trying to calm you down. He was here again.

Realisation hits you- he thought you had nightmares because you were kidnapped. You had nightmares every time you slept at night. It has been happening for so many years. You had grown used to it.

"Nightmare?" Taehyung asked. You nod. "You get them often." He continues in a deep baritone.

"PTSD." you whisper in the darkness.

"Why do you have it?"

Your back was pressed against his chest. You could feel his heartbeat vibrate through you. His curly hair was tickling your cheek. One hand was wrapped around your waist, and the other hand rubbed circles on your back.

"I saw my brother die." You say. "My father killed him."

His grip tightens on your waist. "That's why you want to kill him?" You could hear the worry in his voice.

"Why do you want to kill him?" You ask.

He was silent for a while. "He made me kill my only friend. It was the first time I ever killed someone."

You felt bad for him. You had seen your brother die, but Taehyung had to kill his only friend. It was the first time he killed someone. Everyone was broken, but no one talked about it unless they found someone as broken as them.

"Good night, Taehyung."

"Good night, Yeona." he whispers in a soft voice.
