3: Nightmares

┌────── ⋆⋅✦⋅⋆ ──────┐

"There is a bathroom if you want to take a bath." Taehyung said, pointing to the small room in the corner opposite to the bed. When you first saw the bathroom, you had passed it out to be another spare room.

You two were sitting on the couch. Taehyung had made coffee for you. He didn't like the bitter taste of coffee, but he was good at making it. Your brother made coffee like this.

Why did he mention the bathroom all of a sudden? Were there cameras in there? Why did he want you to go to the bathroom? Does he have some work to do?

"You are leaving?" You ask, hopeful. The room was huge, but you still felt like Taehyung was violating your personal space by being there all the time.

"No, we both are stuck here until your father makes a deal with us." You didn't want him to stay here, especially at night.

This got your brain working. "There are three known members of Bangtan." You thought out loud. "That is RM, Suga and J-Hope. Now I know you too, so that makes four. There was one guy following me from the buildings in the alley, that's five. To make our deal, your leader has to go, of course, but he's not dumb. He would take Suga and J-Hope with him or else my dad would get suspicious. It's hard to predict what my father's going to do. You are going to need backup. There will be one or two people at max, for backup. It means there are six to seven people in total."

Taehyung stared at you wide eyed, his lips parted. This confirmed your theory. You were right, of course. You were always right with these things.

Taehyung's gaze was making you uncomfortable. You went to pull your hood over your head when you realised you didn't have your jacket with you. You panicked. The jacket wasn't important, but the fact that you had it a while ago, and it was gone now, was disturbing.

"Taehyung, where is my jacket?" You ask, trying to keep your voice even.

"I have it with me. To see if there is anything in the pockets." He couldn't find anything in the pockets except some loose change if it hadn't fallen out of your pocket while running. You already threw your phone in the Han River along with your headphones. You lost a good pair of earphones.

Taehyung turned to the side, and you saw a black earpiece. If you could get your hands on it and listen in for even a minute, you would be able to figure out their plan and escape.

He pressed the earpiece close to his ear, and moved away from you, to a corner of the room. You concentrated on the empty coffee mug. You wanted more, but you weren't going to tell him that. The thing you had to concentrate on was getting out. The more time you spent captured, the faster your father could get to you.

You got up to walk around the room. The first thing you did was open the fridge. It was stocked with food. Wow, they had done all the preparations. All that food could last both of you two days. So you were only going to stay there for two days. The cool air coming out of the refrigerator felt nice.

After a while, you closed the door and turned around. Taehyung was looming over you, taking advantage of his height. His dark eyes boring into yours. You flinch at the close proximity.

"Where is your phone?" He asks seriously.

"I threw it in the Han River while you were chasing me." You said in a faint voice.

Noticing your discomfort, he moves away from you. You sigh in relief.

"What's the time?" You ask. You know it was late, and you didn't have dinner.

"It's 1am."

You usually stayed up this late, but today it felt longer. Would he tell you to go to sleep? You didn't want to sleep in front of him. There was only one bed. Who would sleep on the bed and who would sleep on the couch? You wanted to sleep in the bed. You could comfortably fit on the couch, but you weren't sure if Taehyung could. That's why he should sleep on the couch. He needed to learn how to make himself small to hide.

"Did you have dinner?" he asked, removing his jacket. It was, like the rest of the outfit, black. He was wearing a black shirt underneath the jacket. You could see his tattoos now. Black lines swirled around each other and along his arm, creating patterns. It was mesmerising to look at the way ink connected to creating something meaningful for its bearer.

You had a few tattoos, too. One on your side, going down to your hips and tights. The other one on your back, running along your spinal cord. They didn't mean anything special, you just liked the design, that's why you got them.

There were nights you spent examining and admiring your tattoos. You tried to memorise them, tracing your fingers over the design repeatedly. There was a celestial design tattooed on your hip. Planets and galaxies connected by stars and constellations. On your spine, a floral design, roses tattooed along the vines running along the length of your spine.

Taehyung was waiting for you to answer, the heel of his shoe hitting the tiled floor.

"I had coffee, but not dinner." You tell him. If you had not stepped out of the house, or carried a gun with you, you wouldn't be in this situation. You had thought about taking it with you, then convinced yourself you wouldn't need it when you just went out to buy coffee and take a walk.

He nodded and gripped your arms and shifted you away from the fridge. He opened the fridge and crouched, trying to find food. "Go take a bath." He said. "I'll take care of dinner."

"I don't have clothes." You said, crossing your arms over your chest.

There was no way you were going to change in front of him. You would kill yourself before you did that.

He craned his neck to look back at you. That's when you noticed ink etched along his neck. His low neck shirt relieved the black ink reaching past his collarbone down to his hard chest. The tattoo moved up his neck and stopped below his ear. They were veins or cracks, you couldn't tell. But it looked hot on him. It highlighted the soft skin of his neck.

"In the bathroom, there is a cupboard with clothes. You will find some newly bought undergarments for you there."

You walked away from him to the bathroom. Why was he so obsessed with getting you to take a bath? You didn't stink. What was he going to do outside?

You got in and locked the door. As Taehyung had said, the cupboard had a few sets of matching bras and panties. There weren't any clothes of your size, all of them were too big for you. They must belong to the other members of Bangtan. At least they were washed.

You peeled off your clothes and put them in the washing machine. Then you took a shower. Initially, you planned on taking a quick shower, but the hot water felt so good. You ended up staying longer than you had planned.

You turned off the water and quickly wrapped a towel around yourself, not wanting the cold air to touch you. Drying your feet on the doormat, you rushed to put on your clothes. Out of the heap of clothes, you had picked out a white sweatshirt which reached just above your knees and a pair of shorts. There wasn't a hair dryer in the bathroom, so you had to use the towel to dry your hair. You didn't mind, but a hair dryer is always more efficient.

When you came back, you saw Taehyung sitting on the couch. A box of hot, unopened pizza in front of him. His earpiece was gone, too.

"How did you get pizza?" You ask, baffled.

"Ordered it." He said. "Stop asking questions and come and eat."

Still confused, you sat beside him and grabbed a slice of pizza. It was delicious.

"How was your bath?" He asked politely.

"Good." You shrug. "Relaxing."

After eating, it was Taehyung's turn to take a shower. There was nothing in the room you could use to occupy yourself. Taehyung didn't take a lot of time to shower.

"I'm sleeping on the bed." You said yawning. "You sleep on the couch."

"You are small enough to sleep on the couch. I can barely fit in this." Taehyung argued.

"Yes, but you have kidnapped me. The least you can do is let me sleep on the bed." You said, passing the extra pillow and blanket to him.

He pouted and didn't argue further.

You climbed into bed and slipped under the covers. The blanket was so soft. Taehyung switched off the light. "Good night." He said.

You drifted off to sleep.

✦✧✧ - ✧✧✦

"It's okay." Taehyung's velvety voice whispered in your ear as he pulled your body closer to his. "It's just a nightmare. I'm here. Go to sleep."

You had a nightmare, again. It wasn't anything new. You have had nightmares every day since your brother died. But you were ashamed of it. They made you feel weak. Making you think you weren't able to move on from your past. Like the solution to all your problems, to stop the nightmares you thought you needed revenge.

Taehyung heard you scream at night and immediately rushed to your side. He got in the bed with you and pulled you into his warm embrace, trying to calm you down. You were so tired you immediately fell asleep again. Forgetting that he was so close to you. He was hugging you, cuddling you. It felt good.
