2: Kidnapped

┌────── ⋆⋅✦⋅⋆ ──────┐

Your kidnapper removed the ropes binding your hands before removing the blindfold. You would prefer it to be the other way round. First the blindfold comes off, then the ropes. You wanted to see where you were. There had to be a way to escape from this place.

The room shifted into focus. You blinked a couple of times, your eyes were still adjusting to the brightness. The room was well lit. There were lights attached to the ceiling. You had expected to be taken to some dark chamber. So this place had electricity. How could you use it to escape?

There was a bang behind you. You jumped and turned around. A metal door slammed shut. It was locked from outside; you guessed. The guy who was on top of the buildings must have locked it from outside.

Your kidnapper stood beside the door. He was very tall, with broad shoulders and a well-defined face. A single ring hung at the corner of his bottom lip. His hair covered his ears, but you could see the glint of silver in several places on his ears. His eyes were on you, examining your small form. Suddenly you were feeling very short. Were you intimidated by his height? It made sense. You were two centimeters short to five feet. But being short has its uses.

You turn around, examining the room. The first thing you notice is the absence of windows. The people who kidnapped you were smart. How long had they been following you?

There was a single bed stashed in the corner of the room and a couch opposite to it. A coffee table of polished wood stood in front of the couch. The bed looked comfortable. There was a fridge, and a microwave too. If this was where you were going to be held captive, it was fine. At least the place was comfortable. The only exit was the metal door. You would break a bone and the door wouldn't budge.

You knew you were being held captive in an isolated place. When the guy got you here, you weren't drugged, but fully conscious. They got you here in a jeep, you assumed, because cars didn't fit the aesthetic. The last few minutes of the journey, there were bumps on the road. It wasn't a smooth ride you would have in the city. They were in a mountainous region. There were mountains near Seoul and Daegu. If you could just find a landmark of the city or place you were in.

The guy leaned against the door. "You don't have to be scared. I'm not going to hurt you."

You rolled your eyes and turned around. "You kidnapped me." You calmly pointed out. "It's probably because of my father, but you kidnapped me."

The man was surprised. "How do you know that's the reason?"

"You said my name, didn't you? It's not hard to put two and two together once you give it enough thought. Which reminds me, what's your name?"

He raised his eyebrows. "What makes you think I'll tell it to you?"

"It's only fair." You shrugged. "And I want to establish a good Kidnapper-Kidnapee relationship."

You weren't just interested in knowing his name. You wanted to find out who he was. Who he worked for and destroy him. This guy and his team had come on the list of people you wanted to get revenge on. The list wasn't very long, cause there weren't a lot of people you wanted to get revenge on. And the few people you had already gotten revenge on were dead. You had warned them beforehand, it was their fault they didn't heed your warning. When they realised they should have, it was too late. Except for the kidnapper guy and his gang, there was only one more name on your list. The one that haunted you the most. You were a revenge seeking person. It got you in trouble, but it kept you on your toes.

The guy hadn't hurt you yet, except when he slammed you on that wall. It hurt. No threats, no holding you at gunpoint. He hadn't even insulted you yet. Was he just like that, or did he want to make you vulnerable and find out your secrets?

Never let your walls down.

"You aren't even going to be here for long." He replied.

"That's good. But what are you planning to do with me? Keep me hostage and get ransom from my father? Because I'm not sure if he would give you a lot."

You lied. Your father would be ready to give them anything to get you back. He might even give your kidnappers a job in his gang if they were going to give you back to him. Even more if you were completely safe, without a scratch. Maybe they knew that. They might be a part of some small gang looking for some power.

You had to admit; they were smart. Kidnapping you was one of the best ways to power. But you still didn't appreciate being kidnapped.

Your mother had divorced your father when she found out about his life in the underworld and moved out of the country. So your father raised you and your elder brother since then. Hanjae was two years older than you. Your father didn't really raise you. He just paid people to take care of you. Your favourite was an old woman who would cook you nice food and tell you stories.

"Our plans don't concern you."

Our plans. He just confirmed he wasn't alone. You had to find out how many people were involved in your kidnapping.

"You kidnapped me! Your plans do concern me." You said. "Why have you kidnapped me?"

The man realised you were right. Their plans did concern you. "Look, it's nothing personal." You roll your eyes. It never is. "We just have a beef with your dad."

"May I know what it is about?"

"Now that's personal."

You sighed. The guy needed buttering up. He had to tell you something. If he let slip something about himself, you would try to remember if you recognise him. By looking at the guy's posture, you knew he was guarding himself against your questions. He strutted against the wall.

"How are you so calm?" He asked. You shrug.

If the guy wasn't going to hurt you, you didn't have to worry about the kidnapping. These guys just wanted to get to your dad. You wouldn't let them get to him before you did.

"You want to hurt my dad, not me." You replied. "Why did you have to kidnap me for that?"

Your dad had a lot of enemies. Thankfully, they never involved you in their fights, because half of those people hadn't seen you. But this guy and his gang were smart. What did they need you for?

"Leverage." He said. "Your dad will be worried sick when he gets to know that his little daughter didn't return home."

"I'm not little. I'm twenty years old." You said. It wasn't smart of you to reveal your age, but you were offended.

"You are twenty? You-"

"Yes, yes, I know. I'm as short as your IQ. no need to rub it in." You replied.

Recognition flashed in his eyes, but you could barely see it.

"What will you do, by using me as leverage?" You ask.

"Lure your father out and then kill him."

Not the greatest idea, but it might work. But you didn't have high hopes. Your father valued his own life above yours, that's why he was still alive all these years.

"Okay, but just so you know, he values his life over mine."

"You don't care that your father is going to die?"

"It had to happen someday." You shrug. "Who are you, though? Which gang are you a part of?"

"How do you know I'm a part of a gang?" He asked, trying to keep his face expressionless.

"You said 'our plan'."

"You are really observant."

"You still didn't answer my question."

He sighed. "I'm a part of Bangtan."

You knew who Bangtan was. A feared group of assassins. It was hard to ignore them. They were really good at their job. The only members known were RM, the leader, Suga, his right-hand man, and J-Hope. No one knew how many members the gang had. You could take a guess now.

You cursed yourself. You had heard a rumor that Bangtan wanted to kill your father. You should have guessed it was them and not some small gang looking for power. They already had it. Bangtan was one of the people who could have found you.

"What's your name?"

"V." He said.

"Your real name?"

"Kim Taehyung."

"Why do you want to kill my father?"

The Bangtan Boys weren't going to kill your father. Not before you.
