Hoseok slipped his hand in Zia's and intertwined her fingers with his. The couple were walking a step behind the Phenomenal. Zia looked down at their hands, and her lips curved into a small smile. A smile appeared on his face after seeing his girlfriend.

They were hiking up Bukhansan. A monster they had captured had tipped them off that a lot of monsters hid in these mountains. They still killed the monster because they couldn't let it wander around.

"Hoseok, look." Zia said, pointing at the beautiful scenery below them.

"It looks beautiful." He whispered, astounded. Zia gripped his hand tighter and leaned forward to peck his lips. It was soft, but it had a lingering effect on him.

"That's it?" He asked, leaning forward.

Zia laughed and put her hand on his chest, stopping him. Her blonde hair shined under the sun.

"Not now, Sunshine. We have to find the monsters. Maybe later." She added, seeing him pout. She dragged him to catch up with the others.

"Sunshine, I like it." He told her. She chuckled.

None of the Phenomenals noticed him and Zia disappear for some time. He knew Night and Jungkook wouldn't stop teasing him or Zia if they saw.

"Can we take a break?" Taehyung asked, tiredly. Beads of sweats dotted on forehead under his cap.

"Yeah. sure." Namjoon said and puffed out his cheeks, letting the backpack he was carrying drop to the ground.

Everyone sat down in a circle. Hoseok shrugged his bag off and dug out his water bottle. He lifted it to his lips and passed it to Zia after he was done. She smiled at him softly before quenching her thirst. He could feel his stomach flutter. He remembered the small kiss Zia had given him and licked his bottom lip.

"How much longer do we have to climb?" Night asked, pulling out her cap from Taehyung's bag.

"Two more hours." Jin replied.

"Two more hours?" Yoongi whined. "Couldn't we just ask the monsters to come down instead of going up? We would even have had an advantage."

"What advantage?" Jimin asked, taking a bite of the sandwich Jin and Yoongi had made early in the morning.

Jungkook passed the sandwiches before biting into his own. Hoseok picked a sandwich and took a bite. It was delicious.

"We could hide and attack them unexpectedly." Yoongi explained. "But now, if they spot us, they can do the same."

"Jin," Night said suddenly. "Can you feel if someone is walking?" Jin looked at her with a confused expression. "Your power is nature. So, can you feel if someone is walking on the ground if you concentrate?"

If Jin could sense people walking or running, then they didn't have to worry about the monsters attacking them out of the blue.

"I have never tried it." Jin said. "Do you think it's possible?"

Night got up. "Let's try." She ran forward, her ponytail happily bouncing behind her. Jimin chuckled.

"Can you sense her walking?" Namjoon asked. His intelligent eyes eagerly waited for a reply.

Jin sat straight, closed his eyes and concentrated. A small frown formed on his forehead while he tried to sense Night's footsteps. "I can feel something coming closer." he told them without opening his eyes.

Jungkook turned his head to see if Night was coming back. His thin lips curved upward into a smile. "It's Night." he said happily.

"Night stop." Namjoon called out, "Don't move."

Hoseok leaned to the side. He saw Night standing still, looking confused about being asked to stop.

"Can you sense her now?" Namjoon asked Jin hurriedly.

"Yeah," Jin frowned. "She isn't moving anymore."

"Can I move now?" Night asked.

"Yes." Taehyung replied.

She came back and plopped down beside Jimin. She picked her half-eaten sandwich and started to finish it.

"Now we can at least know if a monster is coming to attack." Hoseok said, pleased.

His fingers brushed Zia's knuckles as he tried to take the water bottle. She blushed, and he quickly removed his hand. Letting Zia drink the water before she passed the bottle to him with a sweet smile. She looked so cute; it made his heart ache.

Everyone ate their sandwiches, not talking much.

"Let's go." Zia said, getting up when everyone was done with their food.

Hoseok got up and swung his bag over his shoulder. He fell in step with Taehyung. Jin joined them. Jungkook had taken Night's cap and placed it on his head to protect himself from the sun's rays. Night complained and demanded him to give her cap back. Jungkook only smirked and held it out of her reach. Zia and Namjoon were in a deep conversation. Muttering under their breaths and correcting each other frequently. Yoongi and Jimin were walking side by side without talking. They seemed to be comfortable with it.

Jin was walking a step ahead of everyone, concentrating on sensing the monsters hidden in the mountains of Bukhansan. They walked the dust filled road until Jin stopped them.

"Monsters, three on the right." He whispered after a while. The air tensed, and everyone became more alarmed. Ready to attack if a monster sneaked up on them. "Seven are in front of us. Five to the left. There are more, but they are further away. These are the nearest as of now."

"Jimin and Night go to the right." Zia instructed. Jimin and Night nodded.

"Yoongi, Hoseok, Jin and I will go in front, while you, Taehyung and Jungkook handle the monsters on the left." Namjoon said.

"Figure out how these monsters get here, before killing them. We are not coming back on this long ass hike again." Yoongi warned them gravely.

Before leaving with Yoongi, Namjoon and Jin, Hoseok pulled Zia close. She was surprised, but she didn't move away from him. He cupped her chin and tilted it upwards, meeting her eyes. "Stay safe." he told her softly, before placing a kiss on her lips. Her lips were soft and tasted sweet, like strawberries.

The kiss was soft, like freshly fallen snow, but was warmer than sitting in front of a fire, on a cold winter day, wrapped in a cozy blanket. A fuzzy feeling was travelling through his body. It didn't stop even after he broke the kiss.

"We need a plan." Namjoon said.

"Yeah." Yoongi replied.

Hoseok nodded.

Jin didn't respond. He was concentrating on sensing other monsters hidden in the mountain. "They are moving forward. Hide, quickly."

Namjoon saw a bush big enough to hide and jumped behind it. He felt a stinging pain on his cheek. A branch must have scratched him while jumping. He touched his cheek. The wound was swollen, but it wasn't bleeding.

Jin made his way beside him.

Because of the bush, he couldn't see where Hoseok and Yoongi were. He hoped both of them had hidden out of reach.

He heard the monsters before he could see them. They were loud. They weren't expecting anyone. He could see them through the branches.

He held his breath when the monsters passed next to him. Beside him, Jin did the same. Afraid they would find them if they breathed out.

"Jin," he breathed out when the monsters were gone. "Let's attack."

"What?" Jin looked at him as though he had gone mad and uttered nonsense.

"Their backs are turned at us. They aren't expecting an attack. This would take them by surprise and might give us the upper hand." Namjoon explained.

Jin thought about it and slowly nodded.

Namjoon wanted to pass the message on to Hoseok and Yoongi. He didn't know where the two were hiding. He hoped they would get the same idea.

"Now." he whispered and rushed forward, but Jin held him back.

"Wait," said Jin. "This is easier." He waved his hand, and the bush parted, making a clear path for them to get out.

When Namjoon first saw the monsters, he wanted to burn his eyes. The monsters left a trail of slime and goo behind him. The monsters stood around six feet tall. Highly deformed, as though their creation was rushed. A single horn sticking out of the right side of their forehead, which was meant to be at the center. Huge lamp-like eyes set in their flesh coloured skin looked like a toad.

"Disgusting." Jin muttered. Namjoon couldn't agree more.

The monsters hadn't noticed them behind them. That was until Yoongi fell out of the tree. Hoseok jumped down safely. He saw the monsters and was disgusted.

How did they climb a tree?

The monsters turned around and Yoogi got back on his feet. Their fast movements surprised Namjoon.

"Guys, what are you two doing?" Hoseok asked, his eyes wide.

"We planned to attack them unexpectedly, but now we just have to attack." Jin explained.

The monsters had covered half the distance between them as Jin and Hoseok spoke.

Namjoon cursed and summoned ground water. Slowly he could feel the water making its way upwards.

He started throwing water balls at the monsters. They dogged them easily. The ones which did hit them had no effect whatsoever. But it did help slow them down.

Fireballs rushed past him. They also only slowed down the monsters. Hoseok ran to Jin's side.

Jin was uprooting trees and aiming them at the monsters. A tree hit the monster in its face and it fell back loudly. The others were unbothered by it and continued moving forward.

The fallen monster got up and continued moving as if it wasn't just hit with a tree in the face. Yoongi blasted the monster with lightning. It stopped for a moment and screeched. The lightning burnt the monster's fleshy skin.

Namjoon directed the water to the injured monster. The water hit its burnt skin making it screech louder.

"It's working." Yoongi said.

Hoseok was throwing fire at other monsters to stop them from coming forward. Ever so often they tried to get close to the flames but after feeling the heat retreated back. "Namjoon kill that monster fast."

Namjoon concentrated on his powers. He had to kill the monster. He hadn't seen it before, but he got an idea how to kill it. He water shaped itself into a sharp blade and sliced the monster in half.

Meanwhile, Jin and Yoongi followed Namjoon's technique to kill the other monsters while Hoseok held them back.

He quickly sliced up all the monsters. A sense of victory washed over him. After that, exhaustion settled in, and he started panting slightly.

Hoseok, Jin and Yoongi were also taking heavy breaths. Hoseok smiled brightly.

"More to go." Yoongi said between breaths. His chest heaving up and down. "Let's go."

"No." Jin breathed out, shaking his hand in front of him. "There are too many. Let's wait for the others. We can't take them on our own."

Namjoon walked up and leaned against a boulder, waiting for the others to arrive.
