Type A is always scrumptious
"WE'VE BEEN RESEARCHING, AND WE HAVEN'T FOUND ANY ANSWER ON WHAT THE FETUS WANTS," Edward tells them frustratedly. Bella was getting thinner than she was before. Her body was rejecting the food, but her belly was getting bigger. They've been expecting that she'll give birth anytime within this week.
"It wouldn't kill you to call your own developed demon spawn a baby," Eden tells him as she rolls her eyes and flips a page of a book she has already read. Rosalie lightly slaps her shoulder. "Stop calling the baby a demon spawn." Rosalie scolds and Eden just gives her a cheeky grin with a mischievous glint in her crimson-red eyes.
Then Eden thought of something. "Edward is a vampire, and Bella is human. There's a possibility that the baby is a hybrid, like Thalia." Eden tells them as they look at her curiously.
"Thalia was turned, Eden," Carlisle tells her as he wraps an arm around Thalia's waist.
"I know, Carlisle. It's just that the baby is half-vampire or maybe more than a vampire than human, a vampire who craves blood, just like us." Eden tells them, and Carlisle continues, "It's been feeding off Bella's blood. That's why her body is deteriorating."
"The baby wants blood," Eden tells Edward.
"Of course." Rosalie's face lit up, and she continued, "Carlisle, we have all that type O negative laid aside for Bella. It's a good idea,"
'Wait, up. You're going to make her drink blood?" Jacob asks, disgusted and repulsed, and Eden looks at him, "You have a better idea that you wanted to share with the group? Please, we are all open ears."
Jacob raises both of his arms in surrender.
"I'll prepare the blood bags," Rosalie says as she stands up from her seat and walks downstairs towards the kitchen. Eden looks at Edward, and he exits the room with Jacob following him.
Carlisle looks at Eden and asks, "Do you think it will work?"
Eden sighs, "At this point, we should be open to all options." Carlisle nods and follows Eden, leaving the others to look for more myths and legends
Bella agreed to drink the human blood.
"Edward told me what you had to do. I'm sorry." Bella tells Jacob. Right, after his stupid stunt of telling Sam about Bella's condition and threatening to kill her and the baby, Jacob, Seth, and Leah left the pack.
"S'okay. It was probably only a matter of time till I snapped over something Sam wanted to do." Jacob dismisses with a wave of his hand. Eden rolls her eyes as she leaves the room and walks towards the kitchen to see Rosalie looking at the blood bags.
"Type A is way more delicious," Eden tells her, and Rosalie jokingly rolls her eyes as she picks up the blood bag and pours the liquid into a white cup to make Belle feel comfortable drinking the liquid without actually seeing it.
They overheard Bella and Jacob talking about the shape-shifter Leah and how Bella was afraid of Leah, just as she was afraid of Rosalie before.
"You're scared of Leah, but you're best buds with the psychopath blonde?" Jacob asks. Rosalie hisses. Eden controlled herself; she wasn't in the mood to pick a fight with Jacob and his arrogant ass.
Bella defends, "Don't. Rose...understands."
"Yeah," Jacob grunts. "She understands that you're gonna die, and she doesn't care s'long as she gets her mutant spawn out of the deal."
Eden takes back what she says. It turns out she is very in the mood to pick a fight with Jacob. Rosalie looks at her and warns, "Eden." But Eden was gone in a flash and was now in the living room with her vapors wrapped around Jacob's body.
"Eden." Bella weakly says, yet Edward covers her view with his body. Edward knows better than to stop Eden with her temper, he learned his lesson back in the 50s, and he wasn't going to repeat it. The family rushed towards the living room as they surrounded them in the distance.
"Eden." Carlisle softly says, and Eden raises a hand, motioning them to stop.
"Nobody disrespects my wife and gets away with it," Eden tells him, and Jacob whimpers. "You judge us as if you know us."
"I don't need to know that your kind is an abomination to nature." Jacob manages to say, Eden hears Christopher groan, "God, he is that stupid."
"He just signed his death sentence," Emmett says with a heavy sigh.
"Now? Has it ever occurred to you that we were humans too?" Eden asks Jacob as he looks at her questionably.
"Do you think we willingly chose this life like Bella, who willingly agreed to be a vampire?" Eden asks again, "We were humans, who were murdered, who were forced, who were sick and forced to turn into vampires." Eden says as she inserts her memories into his mind of her being forced and tortured by the village people, tying her to the stake, and burning her alive until Aro saves her. Christopher's memory of dying from a bullet wound and Carlisle and Eden saving him, Edward dying of Spanish influenza and Esme was fighting for her life in the hospital because of the failed attempt, and Emmett was losing blood because of a bear attack.
"We were robbed of living a normal human life, of starting a family, of enjoying the sun, of aging, and dying," Eden tells him as she sees tears drop down Jacob's cheek. "So before you call us an abomination, think about how many humans that turned into vampires your kind failed to protect."
"And trust me. I've been alive for over three hundred and fifty-six years to know that your kind isn't an endangered species. There are hundreds and thousands of tribes of shape-shifters all around the world." Eden says as she throws Jacob towards the ground, and he just stays there, too stunned by the memories that Eden showed in his head.
"I think you traumatized him," Cordelia mused, looking at Jacob with a grin.
"As he should," Christopher says with a proud smile.
Eden closes her eyes, takes even breaths, turns around, and faces her family. "Well, a normal day in a house full of vampires,"
"Never fails to entertain me, honestly," Cordelia says as she shakes her head as Alice leads her back towards the library. With Emmett, Christopher followed them, and Thalia and Esme went back to the kitchen to prepare the shapeshifters for some lunch.
"Let's test it." Rosalie enthusiastically says as she hands Bella the cup.
"We could try another method," Carlisle says quietly. "No," Bella whispers. "No, I'll try this first. We don't have time..." Bella lifted the cup to her face and sniffed at the end of the straw. She flinched and then made a face. "Bella, sweetheart, we can find an easier way," Edward said, holding his hand out for the cup.
"Plug your nose," Rosalie suggests. Jacob finally stands up from his position, looking at Eden warily.
"No, that's not it. It's just that it-" Bella sucked in a deep breath. "It smells good," she admits in a tiny voice.
"And it tastes even more delicious." Eden encourages. "That means we're on the right track," Rosalie tells her. "Give it a try."
Bella shoved the straw between her lips, squeezed her eyes shut, and wrinkled her nose. Eden could hear the blood slopping in the cup again as her hand shook. She sipped at it for a second and then moaned quietly with closed eyes.
Edward and Jacob stepped forward at the same time. Edward touched her face. Jacob clenched his hands behind his back. "Bella, love-"
"I'm okay," Bella whispers. She opened her eyes and stared up at him. Her expression was apologetic. Pleading. Scared. "It tastes good, too."
"That's a good sign," Carlisle says with a nod. Eden felt relieved, and she also heard the others sigh in relief from the different parts of the house.
"How's your stomach? Do you feel nauseated?" Carlisle worries.
Bella shakes her head. "No, I don't feel sick," she whispers.
"There's a first, eh?" Jacob says with a smirk.
Rosalie beamed. "Excellent."
"I think it's too early to say that, Rose," Carlisle murmurs.
Bella gulped another mouthful of blood. Then she flashed a look at Edward. "Does this screw my total?" she whispers.
"Or do we start counting after I'm a vampire?"
"No one is counting, Bella. In any case, no one died for this." He smiled a lifeless smile. "Your record is still clean."
"If it eases you, that blood is donated from the hospital," Eden says with a smile. "Do you want more?" Eden asks.
Bella's shoulders slumped, and Edward glares at Eden. "What? She hasn't eaten anything for two weeks, Edward. You need to make your mind think sometimes." Edward rolls her eyes.
"You don't have to drink more right away," Edward tells her. "Yeah, I know. But... I want to," Bella admits glumly.
Rosalie combs out Bella's hair with her fingers, "You don't need to be embarrassed about that, Bella. Your body has cravings. We all understand that." Her tone was soothing at first, but then she added harshly, "Anyone who doesn't understand shouldn't be here."
"Meaning you, Jacob, if you couldn't get it through that thick skull of yours," Eden says smoothly. Jacob grunts, crossing his arms, "I got the message."
"Seth is much more good company to keep," Eden says with a smile, not hiding that he adored Seth's enthusiasm when asking her about her travels and even asked to take him to Japan, which she agreed to. Jacob rolls his eyes as he leaves the premises.
Edward and Eden decided to look into the legends about a woman being offered to vampires as a peace offering, which didn't initially have a good result.
So that leaves Bella and Rosalie together. "Eden has a temper, doesn't she?" Bella asks Rosalie, and Rosalie nods, not really surprised that Bella is asking, seeing what Eden did earlier.
"She has," Rosalie answers shortly.
"Why don't you go with Eden when she travels?" Bella asks, and Rosalie looks at her questionably, "I do, every five years or so."
"But you didn't stay with her, like Eloise and Jasper," Bella says, and Rosalie sighs. "We've been married for a long time now to know that we both have things that we want. I want to stay in one place, and Eden travels for the job that she loves." Rosalie says, and Bella is still looking at her, and she sighs.
"Eden has been with the Volturi for a long time, Bella, she felt as if she had no control over her life when she was with them, and I didn't want her to feel that way in our marriage," Rosalie tells her.
"When you've been married long, you'll understand each other to a certain extent that not everything revolves around your relationship. We have our own hobbies and interests." Rosalie says with a smile, continuing, "And to know that you love each other no matter the distance."
"Eden has been there for me since the beginning, she saved me, and I know I don't need saving, but Eden was there when I needed her the most. That's what is important to me."
