Wrong decisions
"IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT," Alice says solemnly as she approaches Jasper with Thalia beside him.
The brunette woman was the only one in the family that was able to settle down with the anxious honey-blonde man. Well, and Alice, of course, they are the only two members of the family who can fully grasp the man's emotion into place.
Jasper scoffs and says, "I lost control. I almost killed her," Thalia just rubs his arms comfortingly and stands up from her seat on the fallen tree trunk.
"Keyword: Almost," Alice bargains. She looks at Thalia and sees the brunette already looking towards her and says with an encouraging smile, "Carlisle's just patching her up. You can visit her."
Thalia smiles, nods, and places a soft peck on Jasper's forehead. Walking towards Alice, she places a peck on her pale cheek, then strolls out of the glum forest.
"What did you see?" Jasper asks curiously yet nervous at the same time, his eyes focusing deeply on the dark corners of the forest.
He didn't want to be the reason for Alice having a vision of what the family will decide upon.
Alice lightly sighs and replaces her frown with a gentle smile, walking towards him slowly.
Sitting beside him, she crosses her arms and says, concern lacing in her velvety voice, "Edward already decided, and we both know what it is."
Jasper quietly sighs, uneasy, shutting his eyes tightly, placing a finger on his temple, and muttering, "I shouldn't have lost control. Edward wouldn't have acted on what he wanted to do in the first place if he didn't see any danger of Bella being around something monstrous like us."
Alice frowns. She did not like hearing the word monstrous, especially if it's linked to describing creatures like them.
Sure, they are different from humans and other living creatures that drink blood for a living (animal blood).
However, they try to do good that separates them from the rest of their kind. At least they are trying to have an everyday life as possible.
"Hey, accidents happen, especially when there's a clumsy human around. Edward doesn't blame you. We both know he's been waiting for something like this to happen for him to leave and let Bella have a human life," Alice says comfortingly with a soft smile on her rosy lips.
"And you're okay with his decision? I know you're rather fond of Bella," Jasper says, his tone light while glancing towards his pixie-headed best friend.
"No, certainly not, but I can't change his mind. It's already set in stone," Alice says, disappointed at the fact Edward still wanted to forgo his irrational decision even though he has seen the wretched outcome of it.
"She'll be disappointed in me" Jasper suddenly blurts out, his tone melancholic. In exchange for his lover's freedom for him to scout out every possibility to find another way of living, yet when he found what he was seeking, he couldn't even manage to perfect it himself.
"No, she wouldn't" Alice immediately disapproves of his statement. "She'll be proud of the progress that you have made."
Jasper just shakes his head in disagreement and sighs as he stands up from his seat and offers his hand to her, and says, "Let's go back to the house now, yeah?"

"YOU'VE SEEN IT, EDWARD, AND YOU STILL WANT TO GO ON WITH IT?" Alice asks with frustrated scoff escaping her lips. The family is gathered in the living room. After Edward drove Bella home, they immediately decided on a family meeting to talk about the sudden accident.
"She'll move on in time," Edward answers shortly, his tone neutral, crossing his arms and looking away from his family, not wanting to be the center of attention now.
"See, this is what I'm talking about, and none of you listened. If you just left the human alone, we wouldn't have any stupid accidents," Rosalie says, annoyed.
She knows they will leave this town because of what happened earlier, much to her dismay, and she is not joyous about it.
"Rosalie," Esme scolds her as Christopher silently agrees with Rosalie's statement.
"You know she wouldn't," Alice says, answering Edward's blunt statement.
"So, what's the plan?" Emmett asks as he purses his lips together. He hopes that they wouldn't leave, he adores this town, and he makes a new friend, a human friend named Bella Swan.
He doesn't want to leave her, he treated her as part of the family, and the family just doesn't leave someone behind.
"We leave," Edward says, his tone, final, and he storms out of the house, leaving the rest of the family silent.
Then Alice informs them, "He's staying here for two days to let Bella settle in for a bit. He'll be reasoning that Carlisle can barely pass for thirty."
The rest of the family looks at the mentioned blond, and Carlisle just shakes his head.
As Thalia places a hand on his chest, the man wraps his arm around the back of her small waist. "I guess we'll be leaving."
"I won't be coming with you" Alice says as the family looks at her in bewilderment. "I'm going to meet her, the woman in my first vision."
"Would you like us to come with you, Alice?" Thalia asks genuinely, looking at Carlisle tenderly as if asking him to agree with her.
Alice then smiles at her brightly and says, "Thank you, Thalia, but I would like to go alone."
"I'll be visiting my wife in Ireland; Emmett will come with me," Rosalie tells them, with Emmett nodding his head.
"We'll be staying in New Jersey with Gram," Thalia tells them, and Carlisle just smiles at her.
"So, we'll be separated?" Esme asks worriedly, they haven't been separated for decades, and the first time that it happened, she was always uneasy. She doesn't want her family being separated for a lengthy period.
"Just think of it as a vacation for each of us. Can we go to Alaska? You've wanted to visit Tanya for quite some time now," Christopher tells her, and the woman's frown turns into a smile.
"I'll go with Thalia and Carlisle if that's alright?" Jasper says, speaking for the first time since the family meeting occurred and now ended, looking at the said couple with pleading.
Thalia smiles widely and nods her head enthusiastically and says, "It's more than alright, Jasper."
"You can volunteer at the hospital I'll work in. You can practice your thirst," Carlisle agrees with no doubt in his voice. He genuinely believes in Jasper's strength and perseverance.
"Now that's all settled," Alice says, her tone high, and with a clap of her hand and adds, "Let's pack."
