"Espen!"
Anna and (Y/N) struggle through the thick snow, their horses huffing as they walk knee deep through the snow.
(Y/N) frowns as she watches her friend yell for her brother, her sword strapped to her side as she clutched her jacket tight to her chest.
"Espen!"
"Espen it's me Anna, your sister who didn't mean to make you freeze the summer..I'm sorry, it's all my fault.." Anna stammers out, her voice shaking as she feels the cold air nip at her skin.
The two girls look back as a howl is heard from the distance, but continue forward anyway. "Of course, none of it would have happened is he just told me his secret." The princess counters, her friend looking at her with a raised brow.
(Y/N) reels her horse back, Anna doing the same as she watches her friend stare at her with a glare. "Do you really think it was easy for the King to keep this from you?" (Y/N) asks, her voice shaky.
"For all we know, his magic is the reason he shut himself away in his room for all these years."
Anna's eyes widen as she nods her head slowly. (Y/N) huffs before allowing her horse to continue walking, her friend watching her for a moment before slowly following after.
A tree suddenly snaps, piles of snow collapsing to the ground in front of Anna. (Y/N)'s horse gets spooked by the noise before both animals fling their riders off and quickly gallop away.
(Y/N) lands in the snow with a grunt, before quickly getting up and looking for her friend. She watches as Anna shivers in the snow, her coat no longer being of any use.
With an amused smile, the Captain hurried over before lifting her friend out of the snow and removing her jacket, her arms and shoulders exposed to the cold air.
"O-oh no (Y/N), I'm okay-!" Anna tries to decline the offer, but stops as a shiver runs up her arms. Her friend sighs before pulling her friends arms through the jacket and zipping it up.
"Cant have you catching a cold now, can we?" She playfully asks before ending down and picking Anna's coat up, before throwing it over her own shoulders.
The dark green patterns matched quite well with her uniform, causing Anna to smile as she watches her friend walk off without another word.
...
"Snow..it had to be snow." Anna grunts as she picks her dress up and moves through the snow, (Y/N) right behind her, having less difficulty as she pushes her legs forward.
The Captain watches her friend for a moment, an amused smile on her face. She would offer her assistance, but the princess was an independent women, she just needed to apply those skills to the outside.
"He couldn't have had tropical magic that covered the fjord sun white sand and warm.." Anna trails off, her head jerking up as she gasps at the sight of smoke rising atop a tree line.
(Y/N)'s eyes widen as she stares at the smoke, before pushing her feet faster to get to the warmth.
"Fire!"
But before the (H/C) girl to take another step, she spins around with wide eyes as the snow underneath Anna's feet collapses as the princess now tumbled down towards a stream of water.
"Oh! Anna!" (Y/N) yelps as she scurries along the snow, careful to not trip and fall.
She makes it to the bottom and winces as she watches her friend shimmy out of the water, her dress completely frozen and clinging to her legs.
(Y/N) sighs at her friend before coming up behind her and reaching for her legs. In one swift motion, the princess is swept off her feet as her friend caries her the rest of the way.
"Cold, cold, col! So very cold!"
"..yeah, yeah, I've got you."
...
The girls finally make it to a small little cottage, a warm and inviting glow immuring from inside. (Y/N) huffs as she moves up the stairs and stops as Anna, still in her arms, reaches up for the sign.
She knocks the snow off, and stares at the big, bold letters carved into the wood. "'Wandering oaken's trading post'" they read together, and look down at the smaller sign as snow falls off of it.
"Oo and sauna!"
...
The Captain finally manages to open the door before setting her friend down, Anna looking up at her with a grateful smile before looking around and smiling at the small shop.
The door shuts behind them, causing them both to walk forward and glance at the items for sale.
"Yoo-hoo!"
A cheerful voice calls to them, causing them both to turn and smile at the cashier, a smallish man with a thick beard and kind smile.
"Big summer blowout." He says, his fingers pressed together. "Half off swimming suits, clogs, and a sun balm of my own invention, yah?" He brings a small bottle out, (Y/N) raising a brow at the man.
Anna smiles, "Oh, great! For now, how about..boots? Winter boots and dresses?" The princess asks politely, her friend nodding her head kindly towards the cashier.
"That would be in our winter department." He gestures to the corner of the room, and both girls turn and smile as they catch sight of two, neatly folded dresses, long boots standing next to them.
(Y/N) feels her lips break into a wide smile. She had never been allowed to wear dresses due to her position as Captain. But now, now was the perfect time to allow herself to indulge.
They make their way towards the clothing, Anna picking up the conversation as she does. "I was just wondering, has, another young person, the King, passed through here?"
"Only two crazy enough to be in this storm is you, dears." He denies with a smile, Anna's falling slightly as she places both pieces of clothing on the counter.
(Y/N) stands behind her, nodding slowly before jerking her head back and raising a brow as a man, his clothing completely covered in snow, saunters in, a glare on his face.
"You and this fellow, yoo-hoo! Big summer blowout."
The (E/C) women glares right back as he moves forward, his chest neatly pressed against hers. Anna stammers as she's pushed against the counter, her hands clinging to (Y/N)'s back as the man stares at them.
He mumbles something, causing (Y/N) to raise a brow as she waits for him to repeat. With a sigh of annoyance, the man leans closer, his voice laced his annoyance. "Carrots, behind you."
With a nod of understanding, (Y/N) moves aside, but not before Anna and the man lock eyes, the princess chuckling nervously before she moves out the way.
He picks the carrots up before tossing them into the counter and walking away to receive more items.
"Oh. A real howler in July, yes?" The cashier speaks, watching the man with the same carefree smile. "Wherever could it be coming from?"
The man picks up some rope and a pick, before sauntering his way over. "The North Mountain."
(Y/N) and Anna repeat the name, their eyes wide as they look to eachother.
"That'll be 40." The man raises a brow, "Forty? No, 10." He denies, the cashier shaking his head with a frown.
"Oh dear that's no good, see, this is from our winter stock. Where supply and demand have a big problem."
"You want to talk about a supply and demand problem? I sell ice for a living." He gestures outside, Anna and (Y/N) both looking out and easing a brow as they stare at his sleigh, packed with blocks of ice.
"Ooh, that's a tough business to be in right now." Anna tries to joke, her friend shaking her head in amusement as she coughs awkwardly.
"Still 40." The cashier reminds, the man staring at him with a glare. "But I will throw in a visit to Oakens sauna, Yoo-hoo, hi family!" He says, his family waving back from sighing the sauna.
"Ten is all I got. Help me out."
"Okay." He moves the rope and pick aside and only gestures to the carrots. "Ten will get you this and no more."
Anna interrupts, looking up at them man as (Y/N) slowly backs away. "Okay, tell me this. What was happening on the North Mountain? Did it seem..magical?"
The man huffs as he moves his card out of his face, the bottom half completely clean as his eyes were covered in frost. "Yes! Now back up, while I deal with this crook here."
Bad choice of words, as the cashier stands, his fork towering over the man's as (Y/N) cringes at what was about to unfold.
"What did you..call me?"
...
"Okay, okay!" The young man yells before screaming as he's suddenly thrown out of the cottage, landing in the snow with a groan as his reindeer goes to check on him.
...
The cashier hobbles back to his desk before settling down and smiling once again at the two girls.
"I'm sorry about this violence." He apologizes, looking up at the two and nodding. "Just the outfit and the boots, yah?" He asks with a nod, Anna biting her lip as she stares out the window.
(Y/N) watches her friend before rolling her eyes with a chuckle and placing more coins against the counter top, the cashier staring at the currency with wide eyes.
...
"Reindeer's are better than people, Sven, don't you think that's true?"
"Yeah people will beat you, and curse you, and cheat you, everyone of therm's bad, except you."
"Aw, thank buddy." Kristoff gentky thanks his friend, before plucking his flute and continuing.
"But people smell better than reindeer's, Sven, don't you think I'm right?"
"That's once again true, for all except you."
"You got me, let's call it a night.."
"Goodnight."
"Don't let the frost bite..bite.."
The two begin to fall asleep, but stop and shriek as the door to their small room is slammed open, Anna and (Y/N) standing in the doorway.
"Nice duet." Anna compliments, a smalls smile on her face. She was dressed in a more suitable outfit for the weather, her colors that being of pink, blue and black.
(Y/N)'s outfit was a little different. Her dress was a stunning shade of (F/C), mixed with a black corset with silver detailing. Her black sleeves reached to her wrists where she wore thin, fingerless gloves.
Around her shoulders, she still wore her fathers jacket, the item matching perfectly with her outfit.
"It's just you.." Kristoff sighs, staring at the two with a frown. "What do you want?"
"I want you to take us up the North Mountain." Anna says, her lips pulled together as she grips her satchel.
The young man stares at her for a moment before glancing at (Y/N), the women staring at him with a raised brow. He carefully grabs his beanie before laying down and placing it over his eyes.
"I don't take people places."
"..let me rephrase that." He groans as a bag hits his stomach, causing him to jerk up and glare at Anna. "Hey!"
"Take us up the North Mountain..please."
He looks inside, his eyes widening when he sees the rope and pick he had wanted laying inside. With a frown and a glance, Kristoff stares at the two once more.
"Look, I know how to stop this winter." Anna says, (Y/N) watching her with a small frown.
Kristoff sighs before lying back down and covering his face. "We leave at dawn, and you forgot the carrots for Sven." He smirks, only to grunt and yelp as another bag smacks him in the face.
"Oh no, I'm sorry!" Anna apologies quickly, but stops as (Y/N) shakes her head and looks to the man.
"We leave, right now." The Captain orders, before turning and swiftly exiting the small room. Anna follows behind, before pressing her back against the edge of the room and sighing.
Kristoff looks into the bag and pulls out a carrot, before offering it to his pal before taking a sloppy bite of his own.
"What an annoying women.."
