Getting Ready

THALIA IS PANICKING. She didn't even know why she decided that she could have dinner with Carlisle Cullen tonight, it could've been any other night, but no, she decided that tonight would be alright, another impulsive decision that she made that she couldn't even regret.

Part of her is extremely excited that she got a date after everything that had happened with her past relationship. She almost swore that she'd never date again or get in a relationship again and be alone for the rest of her life. However, something about Carlisle completely made her forget about everything.

Thalia is observant. The day she bumped into Carlisle, she already knew what kind of a man he was. By his approach to the spilled coffee in his shirt, he wasn't mad, and any other person would have yelled at her for not being careful. His voice was gentle and sweet, and the way he talked in those 14 minutes, she never heard any roughness in his tone. Lastly, he never looked at her like other men, which is relieving.

Carlisle Cullen looked at her as if they were familiars, as if they had known each other for a long time, he looked at her with adoration, amazement, and longing, and it earned a great deal of confusion to her.

Currently, Thalia Elie Bennet is nervous, excited, anxious, and cheery at the same time, and those emotions do not mix well.

Rummaging through her closet, thinking of what to wear, she didn't even know if this was a dinner date or just an 'I'm sorry for spilling coffee on your shirt.' dinner.

So the banshee decided to call someone that would be a great help, her grandmother, Celia Cohen. Thank whoever invented FaceTime. "Thalia darling, how are you? And why is your room so messy?" Celia says while looking at the floor piled with clean clothes.

Thalia gives her an apologetic smile and takes her clothing rack, showing her the clothes that she had chosen earlier, "I got a date, and I don't know what to wear,"

Celia playfully rolls his eyes and says, "Okay, Hunny, and who is the lucky man? Or woman," While wiggling her eyebrows, Thalia laughs and says, "Pretty sure that he is a man. Honestly, he looks so handsome straight out of a movie, kind of handsome,"

"And who he might be?"

"His name is Carlisle Cullen,"

Celia's smile widens, and she fixes her posture on the screen, her eyes sparkling in what Thalia thought was recognition, but she just shrugs it off and explains how she met him and how she called him impulsively for dinner.

"Should I go for casual or formal Dress or pants?"

"Definitely the dress. Oh, you should wear the red dress that I bought for you,"

"The special occasion dress?"

"Yes, That would be a good first date impression-worthy outfit,"

Thalia just nodded and walked towards her closet, skimming for the red dress, and she was rather excited. She went to the bathroom and changed, then finally showed her grandmother the dress.

Celia looks at her with eyes wide, she covers her mouth with her hands, and she is completely silent. Thalia calls her "Grandma?" Celia smiles as she wipes a tear from her eye and says, "Oh, Hunny, you look exactly like your mother, well, minus the intimidating look,"

Thalia smiles and sympathetically looks at her grandma. Lilith Cohen-Bennet is the only child of Celia Cohen. After Oliver Cohen passed due to cancer, Celia became a mother and a father at the same time, and surely Celia misses her daughter just as much as Thalia.

After saying goodbye and saying that Celia would call tomorrow about the result of her date, Thalia texted Carlisle about the whereabouts of her apartment and that the blonde man will arrive in 20 minutes.

The doorbell rang, signaling that Carlisle had arrived, and when she opened the door, Thalia was speechless. Carlisle Cullen looks drop-dead handsome with his blonde hair combed to the side, dressed in a light blue collar shirt with a light grey scarf wrapped loosely around his neck, and casual dark denim jeans, Thalia knows that it is a very casual outfit, but he still looks extremely gorgeous.

Carlisle is in the same trance as Thalia, with her off-shoulder red dress, its length stopping below her knee, wearing beige heels that match her quilted beige medium classic flap bag with a black cardigan tucked at the side.

"Are you ready to go?" Carlisle says as he looks at her with pure adoration, while Thalia just nods, exits, and locks her apartment. While heading out of her apartment building to head towards Carlisle's car, she just couldn't ignore the feeling of someone watching her closely, and she felt suddenly worried and nervous.

For the first time since she moved to Manhattan, she felt uneasy about her surroundings, and when she felt uncertain, something would happen.

After their FaceTime, Celia is joyous for her granddaughter. She'll finally have the happiness that she deserves. Thalia has experienced so many things that no other 12-year-old girl should go through or see.

Celia just thought that it was about damn time that Carlisle Cullen made his move, and he should've done it sooner, and the woman couldn't blame him for not wanting to intervene with Thalia's relationship at the time.

But there is something that has been bothering her for the past week. She has this unsettling feeling that she just can't ignore anymore, and she trusts her gut more than anything, so she'll just call Thalia tomorrow to warn her.

As you can see, this is just a filler chapter, and I promise things will happen soon. I just want y'all to see and read in the posted chapters how Thalia tries to have a normal life and how all of that will change.
