𝖝𝖎𝖝. Always For Her
𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍:
Always For Her
(S2:E20 - The last day)
"TONIGHT IS THE FULL MOON." Elijah tells the three people in front of him, Genesis, Stefan, and Elena, "We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse."
Genesis gives Elijah a worried look as she glances towards Elena, with Elena giving her an assured smile-oh, Elena didn't know how much she'll regret trusting Genesis.
"Elena said that the sun and moon curse is fake?" Stefan asks Elijah as he raises an eyebrow, leaning in as he claps his hands together, "That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus."
"Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it, he'll be a true hybrid."
Damon walks into the study, a few steps behind Elijah, "Then why are we letting him break the curse?" After a few minutes of listening in to their conversation-he couldn't help himself, "We can kill him today. With Bonnie."
"Damon," Stefan warns slowly with his hand.
"No. Bonnie can't use that much power without dying." Elena argues, looking at Damon with an obvious expression.
"I'll write her a great eulogy."
"Don't be an insensitive prick, Damon." Genesis rolls her eyes as she leans back on the couch, crossing her arms to her chest. She's glad that Bonnie isn't going to participate any longer in the sacrifice or be part of this exhausting friend group. Simon told her that they'll move to Seattle after the sacrifice and that Bonnie would be continuing her studies there.
Stefan mediates them, attempting to cool down the tension, "All right, how do we break this curse?"
"The ritual itself is straightforward. The ingredients, so to speak, you already know." Elijah replies as he sits beside Genesis, softly placing a hand on her thigh.
"The moonstone."
Genesis already gave the real moonstone to Cassandra, and Niklaus is probably basking in its glory. After all, he hadn't had it in his possession for 500 years because of Katherine.
"A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each." Elijah informs them of the general mechanics of breaking the curse before they learn it from a grimoire. It's better that they learn it from him-it signifies that Elijah Mikaelson can be trusted.
Genesis and Elijah already predicted that Damon would try to save the reserved vampire and werewolf for the curse-the vampire that Rose and Elliot turned and the werewolf that Maddox is luring here in Mystic Falls through his mother.
"And where do I fit into it?"
"The final part of the ritual. Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelgänger to the point of your death." Elijah tells them as Elena takes a deep breath, looking at Stefan as he grabs her hand tightly, his hand frustratedly combing his hair.
"And that's where you come in." Elena purses her lips as they watch Elijah stand up and walk toward the table. He opens a small wooden box and pulls out a small old glass jar. "This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina. It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation."
Genesis refrains from releasing a chuckle. It's just fucking water.
Elijah shared a look at her as, warning her to wipe the small smile on her red lips before they noticed, and she immediately switched to confusion.
"So I'll be dead?" Elena nervously trails off.
"And then you won't."
Damon scoffs. Looking at Elijah irritatedly and bewildered, "That's your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" Damon looks at Elena, "You wanna come back to life? What about John's ring?"
"Those rings only work on humans." Genesis points out as Elijah nods in agreement, continuing, "A doppelganger is a supernatural occurrence. Odds are the ring won't work."
"I'd take those odds over your elixir." Damon spits out, "What if it doesn't work, Elena?"
"Then I guess I'll just be dead," Elena answers softly. Damon just gaped at her as if it was the most ridiculous thing she had ever said, raising an eyebrow at Stefan with his brother just shrugging helplessly.
Damon shakes his head as he walks away from the room, and Elena sighs heavily, "Do we know if Klaus has everything he needs to do this? Does he have a werewolf?"
Elijah tucks his hand in his pocket, giving her a curt nod, "Klaus has been waiting to break this curse for over 1000 years. If he doesn't already have a werewolf, my guess is by tonight, he will."
Oh, Niklaus already has his werewolf. And it's in Genesis's basement. Niklaus is so thrilled that he sets up a camera to see Jule's transformation as a wolf be slowed down by Cassandra.
Genesis stands up, walking towards Elijah as she takes his hand and leads him out of the room. Out of Stefan and Elena's view. Genesis types something in her phone as she asks him, "Are you sure this Elixir will work?" She knows that Stefan and Damon are listening in to their conversation. Genesis showed him the text.
Maddox has already taken care of the werewolf. Tyler Lockwood is on his way to Mystic Falls to visit his mother, who had a very terrible fall.
Elijah grins, shaking his head, amused as he says, "There are chances the Elixir won't work. I have to tell her so she wouldn't be misled."
Genesis sighs heavily, "I just, Stefan and Damon, they both love Elena so much. If she dies, I-I don't know what will happen to them."
Genesis tries not to cringe at her words. They'll fucking move on. How many months have they known brother skewer? They'll get over her until another doppelgänger from Katherine's bloodline appears.
Before Elijah could reply, they heard a commotion at the front door, and it turned out Niklaus had let go of Alaric already, that Niklaus had a message for them.
The sacrifice happens tonight.
Finally, ever since Genesis met Niklaus in 1985, she can see the desperation and frustration in his eyes when they were tracking a doppelgänger. Genesis acquired from a source that Katherine had a daughter, an ancestor of Isobel Flemming and Elena Gilbert.
It gave Niklaus hope that he would eventually break his curse. He just needed to be patient until his doppelganger was birthed out into this world. It was actually nice of him that he waited until Elena reached 17 to break his curse.
In his words. It's the least he could do for her.
Elijah and Genesis are now seated in the study as they discuss Genesis's plans after the whole Niklaus predicament. They were waiting for Elena's decision to take the Elixir.
"Tomorrow is Rafael's death anniversary, Elliot and I plan to take advantage of a private jet a friend lent to me to London." Genesis tells him they both know who that friend is, continuing, "Then I plan on going back to Paris. I rather miss the extravagant life I live in, in Paris."
Genesis grins at him, "Do you want to go home in Paris with me, Elijah?" as she leans on the arm of the sofa, her legs resting on Elijah's lap as his thumb softly rubbed her ankles.
Elijah shakes his head, suddenly finding her feet interesting. He was feeling giddy, to be honest. "If you would just ask, Genesis. I would go anywhere with you."
"Really?" Genesis raises a teasing eyebrow at him.
Elijah looks at her, catching her dark green eyes. His expression is nothing but serious, "Really."
"Well, then. Paris is at its best during May, and it's spring." Genesis tells him with a bright smile, "Then spring collection in Paris fashion week." then she bites her lips, "Mind accompanying me in the galas?" She tilted her head, and Elijah's eyes flickered to her lips as he cleared his throat, looking away as he continued to smoothly rub her foot.
"You need to stop doing that." Elijah's voice is deep, husky, and rich, and it made Genesis's skin shiver, and he felt it too.
Genesis furrows her eyebrows, asking in an innocent tone, "Doing what?"
"Biting your lip. I might not be able to control myself." Elijah's jaw tightened as he fixed himself in his seat, as his back straightened. Genesis then removes her legs from his lap, crawling towards him as her lips are mere inches away from his lips. Then she whispers in his ear.
"I want to break that noble restraint of yours."
"Best believe me when I say that you are over the edge," Elijah mutters huskily as he faces her with a hand on her chin. Elijah captures her lips as Genesis places a hand on his chest, balancing herself as Elijah's arms wrap around her waist, bringing her to his lap.
"You two are not having sex on my couch," Stefan grumbles out with Jenna and Alaric behind him, the two looking at them awkwardly as Jenna and Alaric sit on the opposite couch quietly.
Genesis looks over her shoulder with a pout, "You are no fun, rippah." Genesis drags out the words as she winks at Stefan, who sighs irritatedly, rolling his eyes at the two of them and walking out of the study. Genesis lays on Elijah's lap as Elijah softly places a hand around her neck, making her look at him.
Elijah got lost in her dark green eyes like he always had before-those eyes haunted him for decades. Instead of looking at him with spite like the last time he saw her, now her eyes looked at him with pure adoration.
He couldn't help but feel guilty.
He should tell her.
He knows that.
But what's worse is that, some part of him doesn't want to.
Because once Genesis's memories come back, he knows that he'll lose her forever-with that in thought, he could already feel his heart being ripped off his chest.
Is it so wrong that this fresh start with Genesis makes him feel content as long as she's in his arms?
She deserves the truth-the whole truth.
And Elijah felt an emotion he rarely comes across with, fear.
Fuck, he feared losing her all over again. Because when it comes to Genesis, she doesn't like being lied to and betrayed.
And he did the biggest betrayal of all.
He gave her his word, one of the things that Elijah held with high regard, and he had broken it.
And the anger and shame he feels ever since he ordered Niklaus to compel Genesis's memories-words cannot describe how it ate him whole.
Elijah wishes she could forgive him and come back to him, even if it means that he'll earn her forgiveness or wait-the gods amongst the heavens knows that he'll wait for her may it be centuries, but he'll wait for her, always for her.

"HAPPY GRADUATION, DARLING!" Genesis exclaims excitedly as she enters Cassandra's house with a cake box in her hands. Clementine giggles softly as she takes the box from Genesis and places it on the kitchen counter.
Then Genesis opens her purse as she takes out three tickets, and hands them to Clementine. Clementine's jaw drops as she glances between Genesis and the ticket in her hands. "Oh my fucking god."
Cassandra furrows her eyebrows as she walks towards them, "Nak, watch your language."
Clementine then says, seemingly breathless, "I thought you were joking." Genesis places the ticket in her hands as Clementine squeals happily as she jumps around the dining room with the tickets in her hand.
"What is it, Gen?" Cassandra asks confusedly as she looks at her daughter, dancing happily.
"I bought her a graduation present. Three business class tickets to the Philippines for the whole summer." Genesis tells her, and Cassandra's eyes widen as a low gasp escapes her lips, a hand coming to her mouth.
"You shouldn't have," Cassandra says as tears form in her eyes. Genesis chuckles as she wraps an arm around Cassandra's shoulder, as Cassandra hugs her back.
"I know you two have been wanting to go home for a while. Why not give it in the form of a graduation present, so I'll know that you'll accept." Genesis tells her as she pats Cassandra's shoulder.
Genesis pulls away and then says, "And I bought a ticket for your cat." Genesis says as she crouches down on the ground. She felt Clementine's cat purring and rubbing itself on her leg, so she carries it to her chest, petting the cat.
Clementine stopped from her jumping and skipped towards Genesis with the brightest smile Cassandra has ever seen before. "See, this baby. We're going home!" Clementine tells her cat, responding with a meow.
"The flight is in two days," Genesis tells them. "I hope that's enough time to pack?" Genesis asks Cassandra was about to say something when Genesis continues with a wave of her hand, "No matter, it's an all-expense paid trip-from Niklaus, that's his graduation gift to you. So, you can buy extra clothes in the Philippines."
"Yes! This is the best day of my life!" Clementine exclaims as she jumps around the room again.
Genesis then clears out her throat as Cassandra and Clementine look at her. "You need to move out of Mystic Falls. After the sacrifice, the Salvatores will know you two's participation. It's not safe."
Cassandra nods as she purses her lips, nodding thoughtfully. Clementine frowns, "What about Giana?"
"I already told Caroline the same after they told her mom about everything-it's Elizabeth's decision to move out of Mystic Falls for Gianna and Caroline's safety," Genesis informs them as Cassandra brings out some snacks, placing them out of the dining table, Genesis sits on the chair as she takes a bite of the glazed donut.
"Where?" Clementine asks curiously.
"Since Simon plans on moving to Seattle with Bonnie and the Martins-Caroline managed to persuade her mother to move to Seattle as well. If you want to move to Seattle, that's fine, but if you want to move elsewhere?" Genesis asks them as her voice trails off. She was looking between Clementine and Cassandra.
Cassandra finally spoke. "Clementine and I have been planning to move back to the Philippines for a while now. We're only here because of Niklaus, but we've been homesick." Cassandra looked at Clementine as she placed a hand on top of her daughter's hand while Clementine nodded slowly in agreement.
"Mama finally agreed with my plans to take a gap year before I go to college," Clementine tells Genesis as Cassandra sighs, shaking her head.
"It's because it's been an eventful two years for you. You need to rest." Cassandra says in a scolding tone but with a smile on her face.
Genesis chuckles, "Then I'll help you with your move to the Philippines."
Cassandra takes Genesis's hands in hers as she squeezes gently, "Thank you, Gen. All of this is such a blessing for us."
"I'm happy to help, Cassandra."
Then they prepared for the curse. They were starting with Jenna Sommers and the werewolf in Genesis's basement.
Because as predicted. Damon let the vampire and Tyler Lockwood out of the tomb.
Author's Note:
-Okay, let me just say that I only made Clementine, Giana, Simon, Bonnie, and Caroline move to other places because Act 4 will solely focus on Genesis and Elijah. There are way too many characters to focus on if they remain in Mystic Falls. So, I kind of need to write them off-not completely, but place them in different places and continue their lives after what happened in Mystic Falls. But, in Clementine and Giana's story, this part did not happen. I'll be writing a different narrative of the sacrifice as in their own books. It'll focus on Giana and Clementine, not Genesis. So, in their story, Genesis will only be a side character like Clementine and Giana are right now.
As I've said before, there will be different endings and different takes on how I'll be killing Elena and the Salvatore brothers. Meaning: It'll be different in this book, it'll be different in Clementine's book, and it'll be different in Giana's book. But still, the three books are still interconnected through the characters. I just have a different take on how I'll be writing the TVD seasons in their books.
