Becoming the bad guy

TW: A murderous Genesis (lol)

"CAROLINE."

Genesis greets the girl with a smile as she steps aside. "Come in." Caroline warily walks inside the house, looking around the interior. The crisp white walls, green furniture, and the walnut material combination give the place its light and fresh aura.

Caroline sees Rose lounging on the deep green couch with a book, looking at her with a smile. Caroline greets her, "Hey, you're alright."

"I am. Thanks to this one." Rose replies, pointing her thumb toward Genesis. Genesis guides Caroline to the couch, and she sits inches away from Rose.

Caroline went silent, not knowing what to say, and Genesis sighed as she walked towards the kitchen, returning with a glass of blood in her hand and handing it to Caroline.

"I know you overheard my conversation with Niklaus—or Klaus." Genesis finally says, and Rose's eyes widen, sitting up, "You let her hear your conversation?" Rose asks, looking at Genesis in disbelief then her eyes slide to Caroline.

"And I saw Elijah in your front door with a bouquet of Lavenders—which was sweet," Caroline adds as her eyes glance at the flowers that are in a glass vase.

"I let her listen to my conversation with Niklaus, and I know she was watching when Elijah arrived here," Genesis repeats with a nod, and she looks at Caroline with a grin, crossing her arms as she sits down on the cream armchair beside the couch.

"Because I know she isn't going to tell Elena and the two idiots about it. Am I right, Caroline?" Genesis asks her, and Caroline purses her lips, looking down at her hands and fumbling her fingers as she nods carefully.

"Why?" Rose asks curiously, looking at Caroline with a tilted head and furrowed brows.

"I—" Caroline starts, her mouth opening and closing as she finally says with a heavy sigh, "Ever since I got involved with Elena and all this vampire crap, I'm putting myself, Giana, and my mother at risk," Caroline tells them as Genesis encourages her to continue.

"And I've been thinking about it a lot when my sister almost got killed by Katherine, and she told me how scared she was that she thought she was going to die until Genesis stopped Katherine." Caroline gives Genesis a small smile, gratitude in her eyes.

"It made me realize that being with them will always put Giana at risk, and I don't want that. My sister, she always protected me from everything—and now I'm doing what's going to protect her."

Genesis and Rose shared a look.

"I'm done with being collateral damage. I'm done with being used. And it's always because of Elena. I was turned because of Katherine, and almost put my sister in danger because I couldn't control my thirst before. Katherine is here in Mystic Falls because of Elena." Caroline says with an angered tone and with a betrayed look on her face. Rose places a hand on top of Caroline's hand, stopping Caroline's anxious hands.

"We understand, sweetheart." Rose gives her an assured smile as Genesis says. "Caroline, you must understand that we are sacrificing Elena to break the curse. If you're in this, we're going to be killing your best friend, the person who you grew up with." Rose gives a 'what are you doing' look, and Genesis shakes her head.

Caroline needs to be certain about her decision because once she's in, she'll be one of the bad guys, and Genesis doesn't want her to feel guilty–it's a heavy feeling to carry.

Caroline ponders as she recalls her childhood memories. Elena is always the one who gets everyone's attention because of her parents, the one who always gets picked by the boys, and the one who always gets what she wants. No matter what Caroline does, she can never compete with Elena—it's always Elena.

And when Caroline finally gets the attention, Elena always manages to turn it about her. Caroline saw how Elena rolled her eyes when she talked, like what she had to say was ridiculous or utter nonsense. And how Elena drags her into things that she doesn't want to do.

It's like she didn't matter at all. Caroline felt invalidated.

"I'm sure." Caroline firmly says the hesitancy is replaced with determination in her eyes. Genesis and Rose grin at each other while telling Caroline about the plan.

ELIJAH CALLED GENESIS, TELLING HER that he was in Cassandra's house, talking to Clementine about being a siphoner, saying that he was interested—of course, he is. And that he wants to aid her in whatever Clementine needs for the sacrifice.

So, Genesis let them be. Genesis is sure Clementine will ask Elijah all things literature in return for asking his questions.

And so she and Rose were at the grill with Damon, with Damon telling Rose that he's glad that the myth about the werewolf bite—is a myth. Rose just gave him a smile. Damon informs them that John Gilbert is back in town, Elena's biological father, with the intention of protecting Elena.

And for Genesis, John Gilbert's back in town is a no-no. Genesis is sure there is more to what caused his arrival in Mystic Falls, and she also knows that John stayed in contact with Isobel—because Isobel told her that Katherine wanted out of the tomb, so she sent John Gilbert to deal with it.

But Isobel is hiding something from her, and Genesis knows it. So she's going to find out what it is that the two deadbeat parents have brewing up their sleeves.

Elena receives a call from Stefan that Jules has Caroline and Giana–keeping the girls hostage so that Stefan can bring them, Tyler Lockwood. Genesis promised Caroline that she'd keep them safe. So when Damon is talking to Elena in the bathroom. Genesis told Rose to go home and ask Cassandra to prepare her medical kit, just in case the girls are injured—Genesis knows they are.

So, Genesis called Jonas for help, with him agreeing.

Genesis sped behind a wolf, snapping the wolf's neck. Dropping on the ground, dead.

"Ladies and gentlemen." Genesis said with a grin as the wolves looked at her angrily, "I  would like to introduce myself first before I kill you all." she caught a wooden stake thrown in her direction, twirling it in her hands.

"I'm Genesis Ackerman," Genesis tells them as they slowly coward, fear in their eyes, and come to realize, and one of them ran, escaping, "And that was a huge mistake." Genesis throws the wooden stake in the wolf's direction, piercing his heart.

Her eyes glanced towards Damon and Stefan, who was defeated on the ground, and Jonas arrived—He's walking with his hands held out, using his magic to give the wolves an aneurysm.

And Jonas says to them, "Elijah made a promise to Elena. I'm here to see it's upheld. You need to go. Get out of here. Now." Stefan nodded as Caroline looked behind her shoulder, with an injured Giana in her arms, eyes setting on Genesis, giving her a grateful look, and they walked away.

Genesis walks towards Jonas, standing beside him as he looks at Tyler, who is looking at them warily. "When your friends awaken, give them a message: They need to get the hell out of this town."

Genesis chuckles, "They can't leave town without their hearts beating in their chests. Now would they?" Genesis asks Tyler with a menacing look on her face, smiling at him. She looks at Jonas and says, "Make him unconscious."

Jonas did what he was told. Tyler dropped to the ground with a thud. "Thank you." Genesis tells him and continues, "Best be leaving now, Jonas, if you don't want to witness this." Jonas purses his lips, nodding, and walking away.

Genesis raises her palm. "Wakey, wakey, little pups. I'm ready to play." Genesis her voice in a sing-song. All the wolves stood with their hands to their back as Genesis's magic held them in place. Their eyes beg mercy, and Genesis chuckles.

"I don't do mercy. Not when one of you almost killed my friend." Genesis looks at them one by one as her eyes land on a blonde woman, Jules.

Genesis tilts her head in Jule's direction, giving her a wide smile. "You're going to be the wolf in the sacrifice." Jules' eyes went wide as she struggled in place. Genesis lifts her other hand as Jules goes unconscious.

"Now, where were we?" Genesis puckers her lips to the side as she pretends to ponder, then exclaims, "Right! I will rip your heart out one by one, and you all get to watch each other." She then frowns as she looks at her freshly manicured hand.

"On second thought." Genesis corrects herself, "My nails are too pretty to be bloodied up." Genesis then lifts both her palms up as the wolves form in one circle, facing each other.

"You'll be doing all the work instead." Genesis says as she walks towards them, her fingers moving as their hands move in front of them, heads facing each other, hands placed against their chest, "You rip each other's heart while you watch the life drain out of your furry little friend's eyes."

Genesis snapped her fingers with it, their hands plunging each other's chest, ripping their heart out of their friend's chest, dropping to the ground dead. Genesis looks at Tyler with a grin. She drags him toward the center of the now-dead wolves, placing him in the middle.

What a way to wake up.

Genesis crotches on the ground, looking at Tyler, "I heard from Clementine that Giana told her that neither you nor Matt deserves Caroline." Genesis tells him with a shrug—more to herself since he's unconscious, "But I'm not going to kill you just yet. You're going to be Niklaus's first hybrid test subject or backup werewolf."

She stood up and dragged Jule's body, placing her in the trunk of her car. She received a call from Damon that she needed to go to the Salvatore Boarding house. So she did.

"You know, Damon. I'm not interested in having sex with you. I thought we cleared that up in the 90s, so you can stop with the booty call—" Genesis teases as she enters the house, her stilettos clicking on the floor. She halts when she sees John Gilbert standing in beside him.

Damon gives her an amused smile and replies, "I am well aware of it, Gen. Although I am dismayed a little." he jokes, and Genesis rolls her eyes as she walks towards them with a raised eyebrow.

"So, what is this about?" Genesis crosses her arms, and John looks at Damon with uncertainty and his eyes, so Damon releases an annoyed huff, taking something from John's hands, uncovering it in front of Genesis, revealing a glass vial with ashes and a...

Dagger.

How the fuck did John Gilbert get his hands on a dagger?

"What's that?" Genesis asks with furrowed brows, seemingly confused but internally thinking of a plan for how to snatch that dagger away from them.

"It's a dagger." Damon tells her, "It can kill an original when it's dipped to this," Damon raises the vial filled with Genesis, realized is ash from the white oak tree, "And plunged to their hearts."

"And where did you get that?" Genesis crosses her arms, looking between John and Damon.

"Isobel. Elena's biological mother." Damon answers.

Fucking Isobel, she knew it, that bitch.

"And you're going to use it on who?" Genesis knows who they are going to use it, but she needs to continue with the act.

"Elijah." Damon and John answered in unison.

As if.

Genesis snorts, "Are you both stupid? Didn't you just witness how Elijah's witch saved your ass tonight, Damon?"

How stupid could Damon get? Genesis doesn't know.

Damon scoffs, rolling his eyes. "Do you seriously believe the guy?"

Genesis looks at him with a scrunched face, "Yes." Genesis answers with an evident tone, "And he made a deal with Elena. And she's going to be mad at you if you do something to ruin it."

"What makes you think I care about what Elena thinks," Damon answers annoyedly as John looks at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Go tell yourself that bullshit," Genesis answers, amused. "I'm going home. Good night, Damon." Genesis tells him as she walks towards the front door with John following her figure.

Genesis enters her car and texts Elijah and Rose to meet at Caroline's house. With her arriving at Caroline's home, knocking at the door as Caroline answers with a relieved sigh.

"Gen. Thank you so much for saving us tonight." Caroline moves to the side as Genesis enters the house.

"Welcome. I figured we needed to talk. I invited Elijah and Rose over. Is that okay?" Genesis asks her, and Caroline nods as they both walk toward the living room, "How's Giana?"

"She's in her room with Tita Cass and Clementine tending to her wounds. She doesn't have fast healing like us, and she refuses to drink my blood." Caroline answers, and Genesis nods, and they hear a knock on the door. Caroline opens the door and sees Elijah standing beside a nervous Rose.

"Come in."

Caroline leads them to the living room, and Genesis tells them. "Damon is in possession of the dagger and white oak ash."

Elijah halted in his tracks as he stilled, looking at Genesis with an unreadable expression, "How?"

"Isobel."

Rose and Caroline look at each other, confused. "What's a dagger?" Caroline asks, and Genesis looks at Elijah, and he explains.

And Genesis let her eyes wander.

He's only wearing a light blue collar shirt, two upper buttons of the shirt unbuttoned with dark gray slacks, and the brown Armani shoes that she bought him.

Genesis bit her lip as Elijah grinned as he finished his explanation—he felt her eyes on him, and it was certainly welcomed.

"Then we need to get it," Rose says, sitting beside Genesis as Caroline stands beside the couch, listening.

Elijah nods in agreement. "Niklaus will not come here in Mystic Falls until the threat is eliminated."

"Easy, kill John, and might I say kill them all?" Genesis teased, and Elijah chuckled as Caroline pursed her lips, with Rose apologetically looking at Caroline.

"You're in this now, Caroline. Are you certain about your decision?"

Caroline nods firmly, saying, "My sister almost died again. So, yes. I'm a hundred percent sure about becoming the bad guy."

Elijah looks at Genesis with a raised brow, tucking his hands in his pockets, and she shakes her head lightly, mouthing, 'I'll explain later.' Elijah smiles, amused as he nods his head.

"Nothing is wrong with being a bad guy as long as you do it with a reason." Genesis replies as she stands up, patting Caroline's shoulder, "Tell Cassandra that we were here. We need to go." Genesis tells them as Rose asks.

"Why?" as she and Elijah follow Genesis's hurried footsteps.

"Because I have a werewolf in the back of my trunk," Genesis answers with a shrug.

Author's Note:
— I support women, but mostly I support women's wrongs. And Genesis can do nothing wrong.
