Werewolf Lover Boy
(S2:E6 — Plan B)
"IF I NEED TO PROTECT CAROLINE FROM YOU, I WILL," Giana says to her mother, voice oddly calm, yet its message is laced with venom, dangerous and deadly. Genesis crosses her arms to her chest as she leans against the wall. She didn't mean to listen to their conversation, but it was too interesting not to.
Genesis understood where Sheriff Forbes came from, or Elizabeth. It isn't easy to unlearn something that's been taught since she was a child. The Sheriff grew up hating vampires, learning stories of their kind as blood-thirsty killers with no mercy–partly true. That's why vampire hunters are trained in the first place, to protect humankind and to eliminate the pests they call vampires.
But on the other side of the gore and bloodshed are different kinds of vampires that try to live as mundane life as possible—as she and Rafael did.
Vampires that seek redemption—like Elliot.
Vampires that find a new way to satisfy the thirst for blood—like Stefan, but fail horribly, bonus points for trying.
Vampires that are trying to make the most of what immortality has to offer—like Genesis.
Or simply vampires that got utterly bored with their lives and tried to find entertainment in gore and bloodshed—like Niklaus.
They're not all as bad as humans think they are. Because they were humans too, but tainted with the darkness within and the trials of being in between life and death. Has seen a lot of human idiocracies, like wars that are rooted in greed—humans think that vampires are the devil's creation, but they were the devil in the details.
Humans are the cause of their own downfall, and they refuse to see it.
Pollution.
Overpopulation.
Corruption.
Poverty.
Climate change.
Racism.
Rape.
Humans are the reason why the world changed to the way it is—and it isn't a good change.
Giana stood abruptly from her seat. Causing Genesis to break her thoughts. "If you can't see Caroline as your daughter anymore. If you don't get your shit together, you lose another one." She exits the cellar quickly, not noticing Genesis's presence.
Genesis strides towards the door, standing at the entrance. "Harsh words from your daughter. She got that fire in her." Genesis says, impressed.
Elizabeth purses her lips as she shakes her head. She sighs. "That's Giana for you." She had recognized this woman before, and it was the woman who escaped them.
"I don't want to anger her like you did. Anger as red as her hair." Genesis walks inside, and she sits on a wooden chair Giana sat on earlier, facing Elizabeth.
"She has anger issues. I'm proud that she could control her temper, unlike when she was a child." Elizabeth mutters out with a small smile. She fumbles with her fingers as Genesis hides a smile. She felt the woman's longing.
"Caroline. Your youngest, I heard what you told Damon yesterday." Genesis starts as she crosses her legs. "You know your daughter has vampiric hearing, and she could've heard that sentence even when she was in the living room."
"I don't know who she is anymore," Elizabeth answers with eyes glazing.
"But you didn't have to hurt her that way. She's still your daughter. The girl you raised. The girl you attended to tea parties and balls. Nothing changed." Genesis tells her softly as Elizabeth leans on the wall.
"I just don't know anymore. I feel betrayed."
"I know what you feel. My mother, she was the one who turned me. I was dying of a plague back in the 14th century." Genesis sighs as she recalls.
"Wow." Elizabeth breathes out and looks at her with eyes wide.
"I'm old, but I don't look old. That's immortality for you." Genesis shrugs as Elizabeth asks, "Why did your mother turn you into a vampire?" Genesis wasn't going to tell her that her mother, Helen, didn't exactly turn her in the traditional way. Elizabeth doesn't need to know about witches and other existing supernatural creatures roaming around the world.
"She didn't want me to die. I was only twenty-five at the time. I have Caroline's optimism, and she didn't want that to end. And I moved on without her, without anyone. I got used to being a vampire alone. It was miserable at first, but I didn't have a choice. But she has you, making her feel like she isn't alone in this because she didn't want this in the first place." Genesis tells her as Elizabeth's eyebrows furrow, and her face is suddenly confused.
"She was forced to be a vampire. She didn't want this life." Genesis informs her as Elizabeth's hand goes to her mouth, a shuddered breath escaping her lips, a tear falling down her cheek. "You must forgive her because she's your daughter, your blood, no matter what. Do right for her because she is trying for you and her sister." Genesis says, standing up and walking towards the door, leaving Elizabeth to her own thoughts as she locks the door shut.
She was heading towards the living room, where she heard Damon, Alaric, and Jeremy talking about the sun and moon curse. Genesis abruptly stopped in her tracks. Now, why are they suddenly discussing the curse Niklaus created?
Genesis thought after Damon learned of it from Isobel's research when she arrived here that it was it. She figured it was because of that werewolf, Mason. Now he's a problem that she needs to get rid of. It wasn't time yet.
"Supposedly. Vampires and werewolves used to roam freely until a shaman put a curse on them to limit their power. Since then, werewolves can only turn on a full moon, and vampires are weakened by the sun." Alaric informs them. Jeremy, who was holding a piece of scripture drawing that Niklaus drew. Genesis snatches it from his hand and plops on the coach.
"I do love a good legend." Genesis tells them as she looks at Niklaus's drawing, a talented bastard, she admits to herself, "How creative."
"According to the legend, the werewolf was part of the curse... It's sealed with the moonstone." Alaric continues as Genesis hands him back the sketch Niklaus made when he was probably trying to get drunk.
"What do you mean, sealed?" Jeremy asks as Alaric gives him the drawing.
"Every spell has one. Whatever seals the curse is usually the key to unsealing the curse." Genesis tells him. Damon hums in agreement as he takes a sip of whiskey.
"Maybe Mason Lockwood believes he can use the moonstone to break the curse," Alaric says.
"If we start believing in some supernatural witchy-woo legend from a picture book, we're idiots," Damon says, and Genesis rolls her eyes.
Oh, the legend is real, alright, but not in the way they think it is.
The scriptures, the drawings, the lore passed from one whisper to another—are all created by Niklaus to manipulate the werewolves, to them thinking they could break the curse of a werewolf turning on a full moon and vampires being able to walk in the sun without daylight rings.
Oh, they are now the players in Niklaus's little arena, and they didn't know.
"Who has the stone now?" Damon asks Jeremy. And Genesis's ears perk up, but she isn't going to show her interest.
"Tyler." Jeremy answers in an instant. Interesting. Genesis muses in her mind. Katherine doesn't have the moonstone. Then Genesis realized. That is why Katherine is back in Mystic Falls, to get the moonstone and give it back to Niklaus.
Katherine Pierce is preparing the ingredients for the sacrifice, after all. Genesis could just sit back and relax and make her do all the dirty work. She did bring the werewolf, Mason arriving in town at the same time as Katherine, coincidence? Not at all. The vampire—that Genesis needs to arrange.
"Can you get it?"
"Yeah."
"See, now your life has a purpose." Damon mocks.
"So you do believe it?" Jeremy asks.
"Same book that says a werewolf bite kills a vampire." which it does. Coincidentally Niklaus is the cure—well, his blood is the cure. Genesis thinks to herself—but they don't need to know that. It's the element of surprise. Knowing Damon after what he did to Mason—Mason or one of his pack members will give Damon a nasty werewolf bite then he dies.
The end of Damon Salvatore's life.
"Ignoring it would make me an even bigger idiot," Damon says, walking towards them and drinking down his glass of whiskey. He looks at Genesis and says, "Let's go." Genesis shrugs as she stands up, following them from behind.
After confirming with Stefan that Katherine is with Mason Lockwood, then learning that Tyler gave it to his uncle—which Mason probably already gave to Katherine. A fifty percent chance because werewolves don't trust vampires that easily.
They talked to Bonnie about looking further into what she saw earlier from Mason. The girl refused, saying she promised her brother not to help them anymore—that no more vampire business. But Bonnie caved again when Damon reasoned that Elena's life was on the line.
Poor girl. Genesis shakes her head in disappointment, and she really has to talk to Bonnie's brother.
Now they are back in the Salvatore Boarding house with Mason Lockwood blacked out from the aneurysm Bonnie gave him and is now shackled with heavy chains. Bonnie looked through his mind.
It was in a well.
Genesis's other fifty percent is correct. Mason didn't give it to Katherine.
Genesis is sitting on the brown leather couch as Damon pushes a hot iron rod into Mason's chest, asking questions and getting it out of Mason by torturing it out of him and taunting him.
Jeremy entered the house with a box he found in Alaric's, "What is it?" Damon asks, putting the rod in the fireplace.
"Um, I did a search on my phone. It's a plant. Aconitum vulparia. It grows in the mountainous areas of the northern hemisphere, commonly known as aconite, blue rocket." Jeremy babbles off, and Genesis cuts him off, "Also known as wolfsbane. It's like vervain to vampires." Mason tries to shimmy off the chains, beginning to panic.
Damon grins, taking a piece of the dried plant, then asks, "What's Katherine doing in Mystic Falls?" Mason doesn't answer. Damon places the wolfsbane on his cheek, burning his skin. Mason grunts out in pain, healing quickly.
Genesis stands up, goes towards the kitchen, takes a bottle of water, throws half of the water in the sink, then heads back towards the living room, taking the wolfsbane on the leather satchel, placing it inside the bottle, then shaking it, she then takes her bag and empties her spray half-filled with alcohol, she then fills it with the wolfsbane mixture and walks towards Mason and Damon.
She stands in front of Mason, then smiles sweetly. "Now, this is how it's going to work. You answer his question. If not, I spray this—" Genesis shows him the bottle, and the liquid turned into a clear yellowish color. "To your face. Let me give you a sample." Genesis sprays the liquid on his face as Mason squirms in his seat, yelling out in pain as his whole face burns.
"Why is she here?" Damon asks again.
"She's here with me." Mason spits out, "Why do you ask? You jealous?"
Genesis snorts as Damon scowls at her. "How rude of me. You know, I just realized I didn't offer you anything to drink." Damon says as he takes the bottle of wolfbane solution, taking the cap off, then shoving the bottle in Mason's mouth. The man chokes on it, and they hear his mouth sizzle as it burns him. Mason spits it out as he coughs and grunts in pain.
"Why do you want the moonstone?" Damon asks as Genesis sits back on the brown leather couch, glancing at Jeremy, who is wincing at the sight. The kid is going to break soon.
"Screw you!" Mason yells out.
"Wrong answer." Damon strides towards him as Jeremy interrupts.
"If he were going to say anything, he would already," Jeremy argues out. Genesis sighs as she scans through her phone,
"I'm taking your eyes now." Damon ignores him as he places the wolfsbane inches away from Mason's eyes.
"The well! You'll find it there." Mason yells out.
"I know where it is. I want to know what it does and why you want it." Damon says.
"I'm getting it for Katherine," Mason informs him.
"Why?"
"She's going to use it to lift the curse."
Genesis hides a grin, and it looks like Katherine used her lying skills again.
"Of the moon?" Damon asks in disbelief, his face filled with amusement.
"Now, why would a vampire help a werewolf break a curse that keeps them from turning whenever they want?"
"So I wouldn't have to turn anymore."
"Why?"
"Because she loves me," Mason answers, and Damon's face morphs into a smile. He starts to laugh. "Now... now I get it. You're just stupid. Katherine doesn't love you. She's using you, you moron."
"I'm done talking." Mason shakes his head.
"Yes, you are." Damon agrees. That's where Genesis knew Damon was going to kill him.
Genesis stands up and circles Mason, "I could not believe a grown man like you is so naive."
"Time to take a walk, Jeremy," Damon says, giving Jeremy the dried wolfsbane.
"I'm staying." Jeremy firmly says.
"No, you should go," Damon says again.
"I'm staying, Damon. He's had enough." Jeremy stubbornly repeats as Genesis scoffs.
"Just help Tyler." Mason looks at Jeremy with eyes pleading, "Don't let this happen to him."
"Damon..."
Genesis irritatedly sighs, tilting her head in Damon's direction, "Take care of it, will you?" Damon grabs Jeremy by the neck, and they are suddenly in the brown leather chair as Damon warns him.
"You wanted to be a part of this? Well, here it is. Kill or be killed. The guy's a werewolf. He'd kill me the first chance he got! So you suck it up or leave." Damon releases him as he walks back towards Genesis, standing beside her, with Genesis crossing her arms rather bored.
"He wants me to kill him, anyway. Don't you, Mason? It really is a curse, isn't it? You know, I look at you, and I see myself. A less dashing, less intelligent version." Damon says, and Genesis rolls her eyes.
"I love her," Mason argues out, and Genesis finally says. "Enough of these endless monologues! Goodness, you two talk a lot but not enough torturing. You had your fun, Damon. Let me have mine." Genesis tells Damon as Damon raises his hand up. Genesis looks back at Mason.
"I should introduce myself first before I torture the fuck out of you." Genesis tilts her head tauntingly. She walks closer to Mason, leveling herself to his level. "I'm Genesis Ackerman."
Mason's eyes widened as he struggled in his chains, trying to escape.
"Good. You've heard of me." Genesis commends with a clap of her hand.
"I didn't know you were a vampire," Mason tells her, and Genesis hums. Walking towards the box, Jeremy left, taking the dried wolfsbane and giving one to Damon.
"Ironic, isn't it? A vampire who's a werewolf hunter. Well, I guess I earned that title. I did make werewolves instinct. I made it my living mission to kill every werewolf around the globe. Of course, I left some pups. So I can do it all over again." Genesis sinfully smiles at him, her eyes full of anger—not entirely true for the last part because Niklaus asked her to leave some for his future experiment of hybrid sires for his stupid little hybrid army.
"Why?"
"Because I can and because I want to." Genesis answers with a shrug. "I'm going to have so much fun with you," Genesis tells him, her eyes sparked with menace.
Fun indeed.

"YOU KNOW WE SHOULD SEND KATHERINE HIS HEART IN A BOX WITH A TINY RED RIBBON," Genesis says as she takes a bottle of wine from the kitchen, walking back towards the living room where Damon is wrapping Mason's dead body. She plops down on the brown leather couch, chugging the wine, the sweet liquid coating her tongue. She hums in approval, looking at the label 1890.
Damon looks at her, nodding his head with a contemplating look, "Good idea."
"No. we're not going to provoke her." Stefan says as he walks towards them. Genesis makes a 'boo' sound as Stefan ignores her, showing them the moonstone. Genesis fixes her seat, looking at the stone curiously.
"All this for that?" Damon says disappointingly as he stands up. Stefan sighs heavily, "Yup." as he throws it towards Damon, with. Damon caught it with ease and placed it in his back pocket. At least Genesis knows where it is. And she could easily take it from Damon, and she did ask Niklaus for a replica of the moonstone, so she knows what it looks like.
"I see you've exercised. your usual restraint." Stefan looks at the wrapped dead body.
"Had to be done," Damon replies as he picks up Mason's wallet and phone from the ground then. Damon texted Carol, narrating to them the text, "Carol...Big opportunity in Florida, Gonna be gone... For a long time. I'll send for my things Once I get settled. Much love, Mason."
"Let's get rid of the body." Stefan kneels down, and Genesis stands up from her seat. "And that's where my presence is no longer needed," Genesis tells them with a sweet smile, gathering her purse and a half-emptied bottle of wine and proceeding toward her room. And from the guest room, she hears Damon telling Katherine that he killed Mason, and with Katherine retorts that she had multiple backup plans, and that's where Damon knows he screwed up because Katherine will do something.
And Katherine did this by compelling Jenna to stab herself. Now Elena's aunt is in the hospital. Elena and Stefan are arguing in the living room, with Genesis enjoying their argument.
Genesis wraps her curly locks with silk fabric, already dressed for bed in her mulberry silk red pajamas. She dims the light, sitting on the bed with her back against the headboard and taking her phone from the bedside table.
"Killed another werewolf today." Genesis types in her phone with a grin, sending the text.
"Do tell," Elliot replies in an instant.
