rinky-dink hotel?
—
"Carter. Hey, wake up." Stiles said, shaking her shoulder as gently yet firmly as possible. His efforts to wake her didn't seem to work as she only nuzzled more into him.
His cheeks flushed as he glanced at Leilani who smiled in amusement,
"We're never letting her live this down." Jessica muttered with a chuckle.
Isaac peered over at Carter with furrowed brows. How could she have slept throughout the entire ride? He could barely fit in the seat; meanwhile she was curled up into a comfortable ball, snoozing away. It wasn't fair.
His eyes darted around before he remembered the gum wrapper he had in his pocket. He made quick work to ball it up and flick in her direction, turning away once the blonde began to stir.
Allison's eyes grew wide as Carter let out a groan. Stiles' breath hitched in his throat when the girl lifted her head out of the side of his neck.
The glare on her face was deadly as she looked up, "Who the hell threw that?"
"It wasn't me." Scott's hands rose to surrender the second the question left her lips.
Carter lifted a brow at him before continuing her search.
Her green eyes landed on the back of a stiff Isaac. She raised two fingers, forcing Leilani's hand to flicker purple and lift to smack Isaac in the back of the head.
"Oh my god." Leilani said, eyes wide, her hands flying to her mouth in shock, "I didn't mean to do that."
Isaac turned to Carter, pressing his tongue to the side of his mouth, raising his eyebrows only to receive a shrug in response.
Before he could respond, Coach Finstock's yell echoed throughout the bus,
"Alright, let's go, off the bus!"
"I've seen worse." Scott shrugged, earning a confused look from Stiles.
"Where have you seen worse?"
"What the hell are we doing at this rinky-dink hotel?" Carter looked to the man in charge.
"Listen up. The meet has been pushed till tomorrow. This is the closest motel with the most vacancies and least amount of good judgment when it comes to accepting a bunch of degenerates like yourselves. You'll be pairing up. Choose wisely. And I'll have no sexual perversions perpetrated by you little deviants. Got that? Keep your dirty little hands to your dirty little selves!"
His voice grew louder with each word, startling the group of teens in front of him.
"I've got dibs on Allison." Jessica wasted no time in grabbing her girlfriend's hand.
"I've got an idea." Leilani cut in with a devious smirk before anyone could leave. Her eyes never once left Carter,
"Oh god."
"How about we have Allison and Jess, Scott and Boyd, Stiles and Carter, and Me and Isaac?" Leilani suggested, looks and shrugs of agreement being her response. That was, until Lydia perked up.
"Who am I supposed to room with?"
"Yourself." Any hint of a smile Carter had left her face the second the Martin teen spoke.
"You can room with us." Jessica smiled, watching as Carter reached for Stiles' wrist, forcing him to walk faster to their shared room.
As everyone began to disperse, no one seemed to notice how Lydia fell behind the group, her eyes staring up at the hotel, an uneasy feeling settling in her stomach.

"I have four." Was the first thing Stiles said when Scott entered his and Carter's room.
"Four? You have four suspects?" Scott was shocked at how many he had wracked up already. He shared a look with the blonde in front of the tv.
"Yeah, it was originally ten. Well, nine technically, I guess. I had Derek on there twice."
The McCall hummed in thought, "So, who's number one? Harris?"
"Just because he's missing doesn't mean he's dead." Stiles spoke, glancing at Carter, who threw the remote on the floor, having given up on trying to work the tv.
"So if he's not dead, our chemistry teacher is out secretly committing human sacrifices." Scott gave him a weird look, not at all convinced by his words.
"He is dead actually." The only girl in the room spoke so nonchalantly that the boys almost didn't even realize what she said. Carter leant down to pick up the remote she threw, smiling in victory once the tv finally turned on.
"What?"
"Yep." She nodded, "I had a 'vision', I guess I could call it. It was scary as hell." Carter refused to look at them, "A weird, masked person killed him."
Her voice was soft, but they no doubt picked up on what she said.
Scott cleared his throat, taking Stiles' curious gaze off of Carter, "Well, what if it's somebody else from school? Like, you remember Matt? We didn't know that he was killing people."
The Stilinski's brows rose, "Excuse me? I'm sorry, what? I... yes, we did. I called that from day one, actually."
The boys continued their conversation about how Stiles didn't know Matt was the one killing people, neither of them noticing how Carter's eyes began to glow as her face twisted in pain.

Leilani trudged her way through the creepy hotel lobby looking for either of her friend's rooms.
She agreed with Jessica that they would all meet up in her and Allison's room since everyone was too scared to be alone.
As she continued to walk, she began to pick up on hushed voices.
She paused in her tracks, cautiously looking around with furrowed brows. She assumed she just accidentally tapped into her hearing and heard the speaking from one of the nearby rooms.
'Leilani.'
She froze.
"Hello?" Receiving nothing in response, she picked up the pace.
'Leilani.'
A growl escaped her lips, her head snapping quickly as she bared her fangs at whoever stood behind her.
She could feel her heart stop at the sight of a certain brunette woman standing in front of her.
'You better put those away before someone sees.'
Her claws and fangs retract immediately.
A frown adorned her features as she spoke, "What are you doing here?"
'Is it such a crime to want to see my daughter?'
"Well, no, but you're —"
'Dead? Yeah, I know. Listen, you and your friends need to get out of here. There's something seriously wrong with this hotel. Currently, i'm meant to be convincing you to end your life, but i could never do that to my sweet angel.'
Leilani's eyes start to water at the name her mother used to call her when she was little. Her eyes fell shut at the feeling of her mother's hands pressed against her cheeks. Her hands were cold, an odd contrast to the warmth Leilani's was used to.
She figured that had something to do with death.
She heard her mother sniffle, tears filling her lifeless eyes. Leilani's brows furrow when her mom looked up in alarm.
"Mom—?"
'You and your friends need to leave. Now! Get to the Lahey boy.'
Leilani was confused about how her mother knew of Isaac; it didn't bother to question it. She goes to run back to her room, only to turn back around quickly,
"Am I going to see you again?"
"Hopefully not for a long time. I love you, my angel. And I promise it wasn't your fault.' Jasmine smiled softly at her daughter, 'Now go save your future lover.'
The guilt that had been eating away at Leilani for the past eight years slowly began to leave her heart at the woman's words.
The Lewis teen took a second to watch her mother fade away, wiping the tears off her face before she was off to find Isaac.

Leilani stumbled in her steps, blinking away the sudden blur that cast over her vision as she arrived at her room. It didn't take her half a second to notice that Lydia and Stiles were attempting to enter.
"Do you have your key?"
"Yeah." Leilani answered, ramming her foot into the door, watching it swing open.
"That was one way to do it—" Lydia mumbled, following after the two.
"Isaac?" Stiles called out.
Lydia's voice followed, "Isaac?"
"Shut up." Their mouths snapped closed at the wolf's words. They observed the way she kneeled down to the floor, "Found him."
Footsteps are heard rushing into the room. "I found Boyd, but I can't find Carter." Jessica rushed out, tears in her eyes.
"What the hell are you doing with that in your hand? And where are Allison and Carter?" Lydia asked, walking up to the girl with worry in her eyes.
"What do you mean you can't find Carter?" Stiles sat up in a panic.
Leilani asked again, her impatience evident in her tone, before the girl had the chance to reply, "Where the hell is Carter?"
Jessica rambled on about how it was a flare she used to knock Boyd out of his trance as the teen had attempted to hurt himself. "Allison went to go find Scott. I've been walking around the hotel looking for her and she's nowhere to be found. I have zero clue where she is."
She was slowly losing her breath as she went on, "And this is for Isaac." She then said, forcing a flare into Leilani's hand.
The girl quickly fell to the ground, nodding at Stiles to signal that be could leave. She observed them as they exited the room before shifting her focus to the Lahey, who trembled in fear.
"Hey, Isaac." She said. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt him, but she knew this was the only way to get him back. Her eyes flashed between orange and hazel as she fought off whatever was attempting to make its way into her system.
Isaac gazed at her and tilted his head. He mumbled, "Lani?", reaching for her hand.
She turned her head and noticed the ghost of her mother nearby, wearing an encouraging expression. Jasmine urged, 'Do it. Now.'
She glanced back at Isaac, offering a shrug of her shoulders with an apologetic look, before pressing the flare against his arm, which made him instantly pull away with a growl of pain.
"Sorry..."
