fast heartbeats

"You know that there's a temple in Calcutta where they used to sacrifice a child every day? That's every day a dead baby, Lydia, every day! Hey, you want to know what today is? It's dead baby day. Oh, no, wait, that's every day, because every day is dead baby day, yay!" Stiles exclaimed as he followed closely behind Lydia.
The girl looked up to see Carter walking toward them with a frown on her face.
"I'd love to see what you just said written on paper." Carter said as she walked past them.
Lydia sighed, before following the girl.
It may have seemed weird to any outsiders but ever since Carter insisted on making sure that Lydia got home safe, it grew rare to see one without the other.
It irked Carter to know that she had an odd urge to be around Lydia constantly.
Stiles seemed to believe that it had something to do with what Lydia is and it being connected to Carter being a witch.
"Why are you telling me this?" Lydia questioned the Stilinski.
"Why are you following me?" Carter quickly turned around to ask. Lydia only frowned in response.
"Because Scott's dealing with the Alpha twins." When he saw the confused facial expression on the girls' faces he continued, "You don't know about the twins?"
"I'd really love to see these 'twins' everyone keeps talking about." Carter mumbled quietly to herself.
"Alphas?" Lydia quirked a brow.
"Ethan and Aiden?" Stiles trailed off, waiting for at least one of them to pick up what he was putting down.
"Oh, yeah. Yeah I knew about them."
Carter could hear the switch in Lydia's tone, raising a brow in suspicion. Before she could question anything, Stiles spoke up once more,
"Okay, okay, good. So look, here's what I'm thinking. I'm thinking that the murders maybe come in threes. Ancient people love things in threes, right? So maybe first it's three virgins, and then, I don't know, maybe it's three people who own little dogs." Stiles, once again, rambled on.
Carter wouldn't admit it out loud but she found it adorable when the dorky teen went on and on about things no one seemed to really care about. And though she may not look like it, she cared.
Lydia gave him a look, "I own a little dog."
"God, i hate dogs." Carter shuddered at the thought of the animal.
Lydia and Stiles shared a look. It didn't at all surprise them to head she didn't like dogs. The blonde gave off the look that she didn't like anything.
Lydia glanced back at Stiles to see him already staring at her with a very telling face. One that practically screamed, 'get rid of your little dog'.
"I am not getting rid of my dog!"
"You should think about getting rid of your dog." Carter piped up, "Those little things are vicious. When you're sleeping, who knows what that thing is doing? Who's to say that he isn't planning your death. You should get on that before he does." She finished her sentence with an encouraging nod, hoping her words did enough to convince the Martin to reconsider her decision to keep Prada the dog.
Carter then went on about how Lydia should possibly take her dog to an animal shelter, or something. Lie and say she found him in road and saved him from getting hit.
"No." The strawberry blonde told Carter before turning to Stiles, "And by the way, you cannot discern a pattern by a single data point, so stop trying."
"Wha-okay, so what, I'm just supposed to wait around for someone else to die, then? I'm just supposed to sit there and watch them die? Just wait for them to wither up and die right in front of me?" Stiles chased after the two as they began to walk away.
The girl paused in unison.
"Wither?"
Carter chuckled, "That's a new word."
"You know what I mean. Die, in just a hideously awful, strangulating, head-bashing, throat-cutting kind of way."
"That's harsh." Carter looked to Lydia who nodded in agreement.
"Maybe it's not your job. You said it yourself, they were strangled with a garrote. That's a human thing to do, so... Maybe just leave the figuring it out part to someone human."
"Stiles is human." Carter pointed out. He snapped his fingers and pointed to her in agreement,
"Yes."
"That's not what I meant." Lydia sighed.
"You mean someone like my dad?" His face fell.
"No, I mean your dad. The sheriff!" Lydia quickly corrected him before walking away completely.
Stiles hugged loudly, turning around, "Well can you- Carter!"
His shoulders dropped at the sight of the green eyed girl running away from him.
"Bye, Stilinski!"
He rubbed his chin, not even noticing the smile forming on his face or the flutter in his heart as he walked in the same direction.

"How long is this gonna take?" Isaac asked while looking at the Argent in front of him.
"Okay. Pull back with your left hand. Kick down to put in gear. Front brake. Throttle. Back brake for stopping. Try not to crash." She told him before backing away.
"Yeah. Been there. Done that." The Lahey scoffed a laugh in response, referring to the time he crashed on the bike with Braeden.
He watched as Allison leant back to take a picture. Sending said picture to her girlfriend, giving her the signal.

"Okay, everyone. I know this is the last class of the day. To be honest, I want to get out of here too." Jennifer said, looking at her class who stared boredom at her:
Leilani peaked down at her phone seeing a 'now' text from Jessica. She nodded in Scott's direction.
The McCall teen lifts a bag onto his desk, gaining the attention of the alpha twins and few students around them who couldn't be any less interested in what he has going on. Scott pulled out a large piece of what Leilani assumed is from their bikes.
"Looks kind of important. I have no idea what that things does."
Leilani could practically fee the anger radiating off of the twins, one in particular.
Her ear twitched at the sound of the revving of a motorcycle almost right outside the door, immediately letting her know that Isaac's made his way into the building. And from the looks of it, the twins know it too.
"Wait! Aiden, don't!"
The boy doesn't listen, jumping out his seat and rushing to the door with his brother, Leilani, and Scott following close behind.
Leilani made it out the door quick enough to see Isaac flip over Aiden and make his way to her, Allison, Jessica, and Scott before Ms. Blake could catch him.
"You have got to be kidding me. You realize this is gonna result in a suspension."
Isaac smirked, subconsciously wrapping his arm around Leilani's shoulder. His smirk only grew at the sound of her heartbeat speeding up and the contact.
"Your heart's beating fast again." Isaac taunted, pulling her closer. She elbowed him softly,
"Shut up."
