𝙽𝚊𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚊'𝚜 𝙿𝙾𝚅

"You're not allowed to play tough dad with me" I hear Scott snap as Mom and I enter the house.

We find Scott, Kira and Dad in the kitchen, the two former across the table from the latter.

"Hey, what's going on?" Mom asks.

"Maybe one of you should explain" Dad tells the two across from us.

The sun abruptly goes down and all the light in the house disappears.

"Scott..." Kira says worriedly.

A dark figure appears in the living room and I immediately grab my mother's arm in worry.

"Who the hell is this?" Dad asks, rounding the table and walking towards the demonic ninja.

"Dad, no!" I protest.

"Dad, wait" Scott adds.

The ninja stabs our father and a scream escapes both Kira and I as he collapses to the ground. We all rush forward, Mom dropping to the ground while Scott and I glare at the ninja in anger, my brother growling.

The front door is swung open and Mom drags Dad into the hall, out of our line of sight. Derek Hale comes barreling into our house, fangs bared and eyes shining blue. He roars loudly and Scott follows, the both of them charging at the figure.

"Mom, the ash!" Scott hollers "Nat, stay with Kira!"

I back up into the kitchen, swivelling around to be met with the scared eyes of Kira as she watches the fight in the living room.

Before I can make even a word roll off my tongue, another figure appears behind her and I grab the girl, pushing her behind me. The ninja lifts it's sword up to strike me but before it can, two growling twins smash through the window and land on the table with angry eyes.

"Kira, come on!" I demand, pulling her out of the way as the boys begin fighting with the ninja in front of us.

I watch in awe as Scott pushes the first figure out of the living room window before Derek grabs the second one from the twins and throws it out the front door.

"Mom, now! Do it now!" Scott shouts and Mom smashes the mountain ash at the front door.

When we're sure that the ninjas can't get inside, we all relax a little but stay on high alert in worry that they may find a way in.

"Derbear" I grin widely when I see him talking to Scott in the hallway.

"Little witch" He greets me with a smile, wrapping his arms around me as I crash into him with a tight hug.

"I'm glad you're back" I tell him, pulling away "How's Cora?"

"She's really good. Settling in well" He assures me and I feel relieved at his answer.

"Natalia, are you okay?" I hear Aiden ask before I'm crushed in a hug.

Derek tilts his head a little in a confused manor but shakes his head anyways and walks away, leaving me with the Steiner boy.

"I'm okay" I laugh, patting his chest as I pull away from him "I'm fine, Aiden"

"I just worry" He says sheepishly and I smile.

"I know you do" I reply softly "But I am perfectly fine"

"It's Kira, right?" I hear Ethan say and I turn to look at them standing at the front door "You going to tell us what you are?"

"What? What do you mean?" She rushes out in fear and he grabs her arm.

"Ethan" I warn him.

"Watch!" Ethan tells us.

He carefully moves her hand to the barrier as not to hurt her but when her hand comes in contact with the mountain ash it flashes blue, her hand stopped from crossing the line.

"See that?" Ethan snaps.

"She can't go through it either" Aiden realises "What are you?"

"She's a kitsune, idiot" Derek declares, walking into the room "Use your eyes. You can see it all around her"

"The younger ones give off an aura. She just hasn't learned how to conceal it yet" The man explains "She probably doesn't know what kind she is either"

"I think that's enough of grilling the newbie" I declare, taking Kira's hand and pulling her into kitchen to get her away from the wolves.

"Thank you" She sighs in relief, leaning onto the island counter.

"Of course. I got your back, Ki" I assure the girl, patting her back as I pass her to sit on the counter next to where she's leaning.

After a while of quiet murmurs and worried glances, the house starts to shake as the ninjas begin smashing themselves against the barrier in attempts to break it.

"What are they doing?" Scott asks as they all enter the kitchen.

"Testing for weaknesses" Aiden answers.

A plate falls off the dish rack and smashes across the ground, making me jump in fright.

"Maybe we should go to the living room" I suggest, hopping off the counter and exiting the kitchen.

We all reach the living room in time to see two of the demonic ninjas stabbing at the barrier with their swords before one of them reaches into the small tear.

"Guys?" Aiden speaks up "We have a problem"

Scott's phone rings and he answers it, placing it against his ear.

"Allison, please tell me that you have something" He pleads "They're here. They're trying to get in. And it looks like they're gonna be able to do it"

As Allison starts talking to the boy, I push past the twins and walk right up to the barrier with a determination filling my blood.

"Nat, be careful" Ethan warns me.

"Trust me, E. I got this" I assure him.

"Inteo" I murmur, my eyes shining a bright pink as I use my magic to try and keep the ninjas from entering the house.

They begin fighting harder to get in and I throw my hands up with a strained groan, trying my best to hold the spell.

"Will you tell that idiot to hurry up?" I huff at Derek who turns to my brother on the phone.

"Scott, we're gonna have to do something" He snaps.

All three of the ninjas reel their swords back and smash them against my barrier spell in unison, shattering it completely. I'm sent stumbling backwards in surprise and Aiden catches me, both twins looking me over for injuries.

"Oh, shit" I curse.

The ninjas slowly enter the house and I'm pushed behind the boys protectively, Derek stepping in front of me too.

"Don't do anything" Scott orders and we all look at him in disbelief.

"Is he serious?" Ethan asks me.

"Are you insane?" I snap at my brother in response.

"I said don't do anything" Scott repeats "Trust me"

"We're all gonna die" I groan.

Scott walks towards the dark figures with Kira's hand in his, the both of them weary but their heads held high.

As they stop, their heads are grabbed and I gasp, grabbing onto the nearest thing to me which happens to be Aiden. Scott and Kira are pushed to their knees and my eyes flash a violent pink in response to my brother who grunts in pain.

"Careful" Derek murmurs, placing a hand on my shoulder.

The ninjas lean down and look at the couple's faces closely before tilting their heads to the side in unison and letting go of their heads, causing them to both collapse to the floor. The dark figures then turn to me and my eyes widen in surprise.

"No, no, no, no, no" I mutter.

Instead of walking towards like I expect them to, they disappear into thin air.
