Loki couldn't focus on the words he was reading as he knew you were close by. It was as if each time you near him he couldn't think straight which caused him to ask questions. He has urged himself to go to you and ask you the questions but he always seems to be stuck in his spot.

That was until one day where he had enough stalling in asking you.

You both were in the kitchen casually talking to one another and just enjoying the time you are spending together.

In the back of his mind, he can hear the questions trying to break through to the front of his mind.

"Then Peter comes running into my room but ends up slamming against the door as he tried to come in!" y/n said as she started to laugh as she recalled the memory while telling Loki what had happened this morning.

Loki joined her but soon stops as the questions somehow got louder inside his mind that he couldn't ignore them anymore. He needed answers and he needed them now.

"What do you want from me?" Loki asks as his facial features got serious as he looked at y/n.

y/n's laugh died down as he looks at Loki with a confused look but still holds a smile on her face. "What?"

"What do you want from me?" Loki asks once again as he looked down at his hands on his lap.

"Nothing --- why would you think that?" y/n asks him as she takes a slow step towards him.

Loki stays quiet as he continues to look at his hands. "Why won't you run from me?" He says quietly as he looks up slightly to meet her eyes.

"Why would I run from you? I don't have a reason to run from you Loki ---"

"Everyone runs from me all the time. I'm just waiting for you to run away from me soon." He mumbles out as he dozes off into space.

"I'm never going to run from you," y/n says as she takes another small step towards him.

"Why aren't you scared of me?" He says as he looks at her briefly before looking away.

"Why would I be scared of you?" y/n says as she fully makes her way towards Loki as she extends her hand to take hold of his hand but he pulls back.

Loki doesn't answer her question which causes her to grow anxious even more. "Loki why would you think I'm scared of you?" She questions him again as she goes to take hold of his hand but he steps back and runs his hands through his hair again without answering her question.

"Loki why ---"

"BECAUSE I'M A MONSTER Y/N!" He yells out as he looks at her with sad-filled eyes.

The sight breaks y/n's heart as she looks at the person she's grown close to since her arrival to the Avenger's compound breaks themselves down. Without warning, she wraps her arms around his torso and hugs him tightly.

A loud sigh leaves Loki's lips as he hugs her back equally as tight as she was to him. "Why do you care for me?" He whispers out to her as he places his head at the crook of her neck, a habit he took into account to try and control his tsunami of emotions.

"Because you mean everything to me," y/n whispers back as she nuzzles closer to him.
