you walked around the living room of the compund biting your nails, a nervous habit you had when something was going on.

"Hey you okay?" Sam, your boyfriend for a year now asked you as he walked into the living room seeing you walking back and forth.

"Nope." You said simply as you continued to pace back and forth.

"What's wrong?" He said as he stood in front of you to try and stop you from walking any further.

You looked at him as you contemplated if you wanted to say it, but before you could think throughly, the words left your mouth. "Mom's in the hospital," you said as you bit your lip trying to stop the newly found tears pooling at your eyes.

"Babe -- I'm so sorry," he said as he wrapped his arms around you, to which you  lay your head on his chest trying to calm down your hurried heart beat and breathing.

Then your phone rang causing you to pull away from the embrace and take your phone out of your back pocket and answer the phone.

"Hello?" you rushed out as you put it on your ear.

"Is this y/n l/n, the daughter/son of (your mother's name)?" The doctor on the other end asked.

"Yes, this is -- this is her/he," you said softly as you looked at Sam and saw him looking at you with concern written in his eyes.

"I'm sorry to inform you that your mother passed away --" everything went into slow motion for you as your phone fell out of your hands as you went falling to the floor on your knees.

As you started to fall down, Sam quickly wrapped his arms around your waist in order for you not to fall as hard as it looked like you were. "I got you -- you're okay, I got you," he said as he held you closely to Jim as you sobbed into his shirt.

You balled fists of his his shirt into your hands as you continued to let sobs take through your body.

Sam picked up your phone from the floor and put it up to his ear. "Thank you for giving us the news," he said before he hung up the call.

He placed the phone back on the floor and held you tighter. "I'm so sorry for your lost babe," he said as he kissed the top of your head before sitting down on the floor and letting you sit on his lap as he continues to let you leave out the needed sobs out of your system.

"Let it all out," sam said as he rubbed soothing circles on your back as you continued to let tears fall down your eyes.

"I was supposed to tell her the big news," you croaked out as more tears came down your face as you thought about it. "I was supposed to tell her I was expecting her first grandchild,"  (or adopting I mean 😅) you said as you nuzzled your face into the crook of Sam's neck.

"Expecting?" Sam asked as he continued to hold you tightly.

"You're going to be a dad, Sammy," you said as you smiled slightly and placed a kiss on Sam's neck.

"I'm going to be a dad," sam said softly to himself as a wide smile form on his face.

"I love you babygirl," sam said as he kissed your cheek imwoth a tender kiss.

"I love you too my love," you said as your wrapped your ams around his neck and kissed his cheek back.
