5. The Others

You strolled behind Bonnie, having to quicken your pace so you didn't loose him in the vastness of the Pizza Plex. Finally, you saw the place you were used to - a dark void with the occasional flash of highlighter color. Much less of an eye-sore. But what you weren't used to was the fact that you had someone else with you - and they were talking to you.

"The Pizza Plex is like an entirely different place after hours," Bonnie breathed, looking towards the far-up ceiling, "I know you've only been working in the 'day time', for a while but... do you still like this better?"

You made your way to Bonnie's side. He'd stopped walking, just looking around him thoughtfully like he'd never seen this place before. You did the same.

"Like I said before, I've gotten used to it," you end up saying after a while, "and to be honest, the crowds of screaming children are something I can definitely live without, but even so..." There was no way you were going to say you didn't like your current working conditions. No, saying that would make you seem dark and depressing and it may even hurt Bonnie's feelings. Besides, you could see yourself enjoying that kind of vibe in the future. In a very, very far off future.

"I like it the place during work hours." You finally finished, confidence forced into your voice.

Bonnie beamed. It made you feel kind of guilty, somehow.

"So who am I going to be meeting, exactly?" You asked, quick to change the subject, fiddling with the strap of your bag as renewed your pace.

Bonnie pricked his ears, "oh yes! Well, I'm sure you've heard of the other animatronics; Freddy, Roxy, Chica, and Monty."

"Damn!" You stuffed your hands in your pockets, "the whole crew! Not gonna lie, a little intimidating." You were... kind of excited to meet the animatronics? You'd never really been interested in them, being too old for their theme parks and all, but if they were as sentient as Bonnie, all with their own personalities and behaviors and characteristics, then... it would be like meeting a bunch of new people. Which you were good at. Okay at. Could deal with.

Bonnie sighed, "Yup, all four." He scratched the back of his head, "The thing is... they don't know your coming. But don't worry! I'm sure they'll be lovely to you. Very kind. I hope." You scoffed, resting your hand on Bonnie's arm (you'd been reaching for his shoulder only to realize he was a lot taller than you were), "It'll be all fine. If they're anything like you, then I'll have a great time." Bonnie's cheeks glowed a bashful red.

So the two of you continued, your footsteps echoing around you. Half the halls you remembered from your days of cleaning and the others were entirely new. It was weird - you knew some of the Pizza Plex like the back of your hand and the everything else was a mystery.
You were currently walking through one of these unknown areas. It seemed to be a sort of back stage area. Here was one of the only places of the Pizza Plex with lighting that was somewhat normal - above you a white glare flickered in and out above you.

"So you'll probably want to wait outside here first, just so I can tell them your and they have time to restrain themselves from fangirling and fanboying all over you. Yeah, they love a crowd." Bonnie stopped outside one of the hulking metal doors that sunk into the wall a little. On it was a sticker with huge letters that read; ANIMATRONICS ONLY.

You peeled some of the thick sticker off of the door, leaving a gooey residue behind, "Ominous, much?" Bonnie chuckled, quickly setting you to the side before reaching for the door.

"Wait!" You grabbed Bonnie's hand and he did his signature squeak in surprise. He turned to you, his eyes wide and inquisitive, and you couldn't hardly keep yourself from melting into a puddle of oh-my-gosh-that's-adorable.

"What is it, Y/N?"

You swallowed, "Before you go in there, I would like to ask you something. Why did you bring me here? Not in a bad way. Obviously. Cause I don't mind being here - it is honestly an honor, but you've only known me for like two days and I was just curious?" God, stumbling over your words made you seem like the nervous wreck you tried so hard not to be.

But Bonnie's response was even more flustered.
"UM-" His ears fell against the back of his head and his nose burned with heat, "Y-you're cool." He cringed at himself, "And I don't know that cool many people - not insulting my friends or a-anything, that would be a bad idea, cause they are cool, and scary sometimes, so I would never suggest that they aren't cool BUT I think your interesting and I thought it would be a nice gesture to show you the others?" Before you could say anything in reply, the door flew wide open and Bonnie was dragged inside the room, his eyes sending out a silent plea for help before being taken fully out of view.

"Bonnie!" You had to hold in your laughter as you imagined someone wrapping their arms around the animatronic in a death-grip hug, "I knew I could hear you out there! Who were you talking to?"

"Let go of me- and, um I was talking to no one! Just myself. I'm creepy like that. Definitely."

"Are you sure?" A different, higher-pitched voice mused.

"What?! I don't lie. M-most of the time, anyway. Really, Chica, I would have thought you'd know me better."

"She's right." Another voice. Lower this time. "You're not telling us the truth. Come on, Bonnie. What is there to hide? It's not like this is an earth shattering secret or anything. If you don't tell us we'll just look out the door right now~"

"Don't! I mean, don't. It's um, whatever. I just thought, since you know, I have this new assistant and since I'd never had one before and they hadn't met up guys I thought I should introduce them?"

There was silence before someone poked their head around the corner. You waved, blinking in surprise, letting a cheesy smile melt onto your face. This animatronic didn't look at all like Bonnie did - still with the same fluidness and human-esc movements, but her body shape was different and her color palette was different and she was something entirely different.

"Oh my gosh!" She squealed, wringing her hands in excitement, "An assistant! Wow!" She bounced up and down on the spot, the small feather like tuft on her head flopping about. Grabbing your hand, in one swift motion she took you inside and sat you down in a worn swivel chair, the sear spinning softly with the force of her movements.

And so these were the animatronics you vaguely remembered from the posters littered around the Pizza Plex. All staring at you. A bunch of sentient animatronics had theirs eyes so fixed on you, you would have guessed they were hypnotized. You were definitely feeling the pressure.

"Yup! That's me. Y/N. Coolest person you'll ever meet, according to Bonnie." You flashed a lazy grin in an attempt to hide your sudden nerves and finger-gunned. Yes, you were that lame.
So Bonnie had brought you hear because he thought good of you. As a person. Even though he'd probably seen your not-very-hidden expressions of disgust when handling children and the way you presented yourself (mismatched socks, fuzzy morning hair, overall dead appearance). Even though, like you'd said to him, he'd only known you for two days. It was - nice. That he was willing to get to know you and show you his life. Even if he was just some animatronic, the action made you feel good. And you weren't about to forget it.

Blushing and muttering a soft 'shut up!' under his breath, Bonnie jumped to your side and laid comforting hands on your shoulders. "This is Y/N! They've only been working here a few days so go easy on them..." Twisting your head around to look at Bonnie, you knew he was not at all convinced that they were gonna hold back.

So you took a quick look around the room while you could. Apart from the very obvious animatronics lounging around the place, the room was pretty bare. The walls were lined with the same promotional papers that were stuck up around all the Pizza Plex's offices, and there mirrors and chairs and bits and pieces scattered over desks. Everything from the ceiling to the floor was washed a bright white, which was a little jarring when comparing it with the rest of the building, but other than that it was a normal room. How surprising.

"Aren't they just gorgeous?" The first animatronic - presumably Chica, if you remembered anything from the advertisements - cooed, still buzzing with excitement, "That uniform really does suit you well! And the vest ties so nicely with your e/c and-" She clapped her hands together, humming delightedly, "You just look stunning!"

You cracked your knuckles, your cheeks burning bashfully. "Awwww, thank you! And I gotta say the same about you; what an iconic outfit!" Chica practically glowed.

"Stop overdoing it, Chica." You're gaze drifted to the wolf-like animatronic that was leaning against the wall, her long white hair draping over her shoulders and her tail twitching left and right by her side. By the sound of it, this was the other animatronic that had been talking before.

"Shush, Roxy!" Chica crossed her arms and frowned, "I'm just trying to be welcoming! I don't see you making Y/N feel comfortable!"

"Oh-" You ran your hand through your hair, smiling in that stupid dorky way you always did, "There's no need. I'm good. Great, actually. And um... hi, Roxy." Roxy shrugged, her poker face unmoving. She grabbed some type of energy drink off the table and took a long sip, completely ignoring Chica's stubborn glare.

Huffing, Chica came back to you and her bubbly exterior returned, "Sorry about that - Roxy is a bit of a handful. But anyways, how's the job? Having fun? Bonnie annoyed you much?" Neither you or Bonnie had time to reply before your attention was grabbed by someone else.

"Hello, Y/N!" This time your turned your gaze to the back of the room, where a taller bear animatronic was smiling and waving at you in the most pure-like way, "I'm Freddy Fazbear, but you can just call me Freddy. Are you having fun at your new job? I'm sure Bonnie is keeping you good company." He grinned at you and you grinned back, giving him a meek little thumbs-up.

"Sup Freddy! And if you wanna know, Bonnie is brilliant. So nice to talk to." You spun around in your chair a little, continuing to let Chica fuss over you happily and knowing that behind you Bonnie face was a furious red. So your predictions had been correct - these animatronics all had their own personalities. It was actually really cool - talking to them felt like talking to a group of actual humans. But you should have guessed after meeting Bonnie that all the others would be this way.

Your chair finally stopped spinning and you found yourself facing Bonnie. He flicked his ears back, quickly catching your gaze in his and smiled, crouching down to meet your level.
"That's them! I'm sorry about Chica being Chica and Roxy being Roxy and Freddy... well, he really didn't do anything wrong, but... thanks for coming, anyway. We can leave whenever - no pressure. They can get pretty hectic. I just thought it might be good for you to at least see them because you might be working with them in the future-" He coughed, looking away, "Not only cause I think you're cool. Totally." You rolled your eyes but decided, out of the kindness of your heart, to let it go. Maybe because like you'd said to yourself earlier, the fact that Bonnie had brought you here made you feel warm and fuzzy.

"I think these guys are great! The fact that they have even a fraction of my awesomeness is already an accomplishment." Bonnie chuckled and you spun yourself around again and sighed, letting your chair lean back against Bonnie's side.

"Roxy, you know that energy drink is bad for you!"

"Fuck up, Chica! You and your McDonalds for breakfast lunch and dinner - honestly."

"S-shut up! I'm working on it!"

"Girl, for real? You think you can get away from that. Cause if I'm correct I forgot to mention morning tea and afternoon tea and desert and midnight snack-"

"FUCK UP!"

"FUCK OFF!"

You had to bite down on your tongue as you watched Chica and Roxy get into the ultimate bitch-slapping contest, Freddy in the middle desperately trying to calm them down.

"I know what you mean when you say 'hectic'" You had to pinch yourself to hold back your mirth as you watched Roxy absolutely annihilate the other animatronic, taking her to the ground, "Is this a normal thing for you guys?"

Bonnie shrugged, quickly grabbing two ice teas and handing one to you (it smelled delicious - a mix of lemon and honey), "Just your average get-together if you know what I mean." You and Bonnie watched from the sidelines for another while, quietly betting on what you thought was gonna happen next. That was a sore defeat for you - handing Bonnie the loose change in your pocket while he stared down at you with and excruciatingly smug smile really put insult to injury.

"SO," You said, eager to talk about something else, "If that's Chica and that's Roxy and that's Freddy-" The bear managed to do another adorable wave while getting Roxy and Chica off of each other, "-Then where's Monty?"

And that's when you felt a shadow drape over you and you felt claws grip into your chair and breath tingle at the back of your neck. Hardly daring to breath, you let your chair get turned around and found that it wasn't only Bonnie who was squeaking.

"Hey, Y/N." Monty growled, his glasses slipping down the edge of his snout as he braced you against the wall.

A/N I KEEP SAYING STUFF WILL HAPPEN AND THEN I REALISE THAT THE CHAPTER IS GETTING LONG HHHHSHHSHS
