Josie walked around the school with Mason and Liam next to her, Liam's hand in her own as the Hewitt teen going in about some book he was reading.

Liam and Josie weren't a couple, by any means. But over the summer, the two quickly became aware of their liking of holding hands. And cuddling. And cheek kisses.

It was a weird relationship that they had and while Josie had voice to her sister how she wouldn't mind dating the Dunbar, she wasn't completely sure how Liam felt.

Sure, he would intertwine their fingers and he never pulled away when she pecked his cheek, but he's never made it clear how he felt about her. It was frustrating but (for now) she was content with acting like a couple until he came to his senses.

"This is the one I was telling you about. I got it from a rare book dealer in Germany. Cost me two hundred bucks, but it was totally worth it."

Liam sighed heavily as they turned the corner, "You're still reading about this stuff?"

"I was attacked by an armor-plated giant wearing a bear skull. It left an impression." Mason scoffed, shoving the book in their direction, "Look. Look. Have you ever seen anything like this?"

Liam glanced nervously at the Josie, "Uh, no. Never."

He didn't understand how she wasn't completely freaking out right now. Yeah, sure, she wasn't supernatural herself but her friends and family were apart of the world, he would at least assume that she was the tiniest bit concerned.

Unknown to him, Josie was freaking out.

But, living with Ryder for nearly her entire life, she managed to almost perfect the stone faced, 'i don't care about anything' look.

Her sister was a natural.

It's why when it came to lying to someone, she kept her mouth shut and let Ryder do all the talking, it's also why she hadn't said a word since Mason brought his topic up to them.

She knew she'd spill if she did.

"And then there's this whole section about the Nagual. Have you ever heard of the name Tezcat...?"

"Tezcatlipoca." Liam said for him, earning a look in response, "No. No, never heard of him."

The trio walked into their history class, which happened to be getting taught by Kira's father, Ken.

"Take your seats, everyone."

Liam huffed as he noticed the only seat available was the one next to a girl Josie has never seen before, "Oh! Great."

"Liam, what are you doing?" She asked, brows creased in concern for why he hadn't sat down yet.

He glanced at her, "I'm not sitting there."

"Liam." Mr. Yukimura called out, "You're not gonna just stand there, are you?"

Liam shrugged, "Maybe."

"The whole semester?"

"Maybe."

"Liam, have a seat."

The Dunbar did as told, only to let out a low groan seconds later. From behind him, Josie watched as he lifted a bit to reveal bubblegum stuck to his pants.

It didn't take a genius to know that the gum was placed by the girl to his right. The Anders teen narrowed her eyes suspiciously, wondering what the issue between them could have possibly been.

"All right, welcome to History 103."

Austin sat in the back of his AP biology class, clearing his throat as he adjusted his seating. He could see Kira, Lydia and Scott in the front of the classroom, the girls looking extremely confused as to why the McCall was in an advanced placement class.

He didn't really care what classes any of his friends took, as long as they didn't make a complete fool out of themselves. He felt that if Scott got accepted, then he must be doing something right.

He was knocked out of his thoughts by the seat next to him getting taken.

He had no intentions of looking up until the person spoke up,

"Hey."

He glanced over to see Theo Raeken filling the chair. Despite Stiles' concerns, he didn't want to be rude, his mother taught him that being an asshole got you nowhere,

"Hey."

"Austin, right?"

The George teen nodded, "Yeah."

"I'm Theo."

"I've heard." Austin sighed out, his attention now focused on the teacher in front of him,

"Welcome to AP Biology. Let's see who's awake. Can somebody tell me what plasmids are?"

Lydia lifted her hand in the air, "Circular, self-replicating DNA molecules often used in cloning proteins."

"Nicely stated, Lydia." Mrs. Finch praised her, "Now, can you tell me what vitamin is absorbed in the stomach via parietal cell production of a glycoprotein?"

"Uh..." Lydia trailed off, cheeks beginning to flush as she realized she didn't know the answer.

"B-12." Austin called from the back of the class, earning finger point of acknowledgement from the teacher.

"Thank you, Austin." Mrs. Finch quickly turned to Scott, "Mr. McCall, did you know the answer?"

"Um, no."

"It's a common test question. What's your number one college pick?L

"Um—"

"Stop saying, 'um'."

Austin could agree that the constant repetitiveness of the interjection could get annoying at times but he couldn't help but furrow his brows at the way she targeted him.

"Sorry." Scott apologizes, "UC Davis."

"Good choice."

"Hey."

The George side eyed Theo, wondering what could possibly be the reason for him cutting into his learning,

"What?"

"Do you have a pen I can borrow?"

"Yeah, there's one in my pencil bag. Go ahead and take it."

Theo hummed, "My mother says it's impolite to dig in a strangers bag."

"It's just a pencil bag, either take the pen or don't. I really don't care."

Austin's patience was remarkable but something about Theo was just so annoying to him.

"Cool." Theo cleared his throat, grabbing the pen. Just as Austin thought he was done, the Raeken spoke up once more, "Do you think you can give me Ryder's number since you're feeling nice enough to give out pens?"

Austin ran his tongue over his teeth, jaw clenching, "She has a boyfriend."

"Does she?"

"Yeah." He scoffed, "It's me, so don't try anything."

Did he think he intimidated the boy? Not at all. From his small interaction, Austin could tell that Theo was a confident guy, he wasn't too bothered by the opinions of others or what they had going on.

Clearly, seeing as he had the balls to ask a girl's boyfriend for her number. But as long as he got it into Theo's head that Ryder wasn't available, he guessed he could live.

Though, it was safe to say that Austin was not a fan.

"...Who else thinks they're in the right class?"

A few students raised their hands, Theo's being one of the first to go up, followed by Austin.

"Good. Then you should all be prepared for the test tomorrow."

"Don't be so disappointed. This test is specifically to help you determine whether you should actually be in AP Biology. You have two weeks to drop. Tomorrow's test will just weed out the ones who shouldn't be here. And that could be any of you."

"Hey! You." Ryder perked up at the voice, her, Scott and Isaac's conversation fizzling out as they watched Stiles march towards them, "You're coming with me. Come on."

"Am I?"

"You are." He mocked her, hiding the small smile that tried covering his face when he looked at her, he waved for the boys to follow along.

"We've got a free period." Scott told his friend.

"So do I." Isaac furrowed his brows, definitely not believing that the Stilinski had a free period but didn't care enough to point it out, "And so does Theo Raeken."

"Let's go."
