lacrosse game
let's pretend bryce and monty aren't there and he's actually wearing a lacrosse outfit

Aaron stood with his chest to Ramona's back, his hands rubbing the completely invisible bump she had, the couple standing in the bottom row of the bleachers as they waited patiently to watch Austin's lacrosse game. Jennifer was also there, the woman rather excited to see her son's first game.
Originally, Aaron and Ramona decided that they would come to the game to fully support their daughters boyfriend in his sport, only to later realize it may have been best that they came at all as Ryder informed them that a killing may or may not take place tonight.
Neither of them wanted to risk not being able to prevent anything in case their eldest daughter was tonight's main target.
From the sidelines, Ryder could be seen helping Austin adjust his gear while Liam, Josie and Mason spoke next to them.
"I don't care if he's a foot taller than me. I think I can take him."
"Yeah." Mason muttered, his dismissive tone catching their attention. Josie didn't bother hiding her smile as Liam scoffed at the Hewitt,
"What do you think you're doing?"
"What? Me?" He scoffed, "Agreeing with you. I'm being agreeable."
"You think he's hot, don't you?"
"No! No. Not at all. No way! Maybe. Yeah, maybe a little."
Liam rolled his eyes, "He wants to destroy me."
"I think you could definitely take him. And then give him to me."
The two chuckle, their conversation fading away as Mason left to sit in the blenders, leaving Josie and Liam by themselves.
"I'm sure you'll do good." Josie smiled at him, Liam's heart swelling at her sweet tone.
"Thanks, Jo." He smiled, "But Scott says I can't play."
"Who cares what Scott thinks? You're one of the best players on the team right now, I doubt Coach will make you sit out, messed up foot or not." They shared a small laugh, their energy shifting to a more nervous one, "Just, you know, try not to hurt anyone. And don't get hurt."
"I'll be careful."
"You do that." She nodded, awkwardly rocking on the balls of her feet. In a rush of pure confidence, Josie leant forward and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek, "Good luck!"
As she speedily ran off, Liam's stood with wide eyes, he didn't say anything but his red cheeks were an immediate clue that he was flustered.
He's knocked out of his thoughts by a hand patting his shoulder, Austin's voice flowing through his ears.
"I've been there." He looked over to the redhead speaking with his mother, "You're locked in, man."

Ryder sat with her arm around Josie's shoulder, the pair of sisters' eyes never leaving the field or the bench. Ryder's eyes narrowed in on Austin who signaled that Liam would be getting thrown into the game last minute.
"They're putting Liam in."
"What?" Josie stood up, "Ry, he's not ready."
"He'll be fine."
Aaron and Ramona listened quietly as their daughter spoke to one another, both of them knowing that their words of comfort would only send Josie into a frenzy. Too much consolation made her feel anxious, like it was too good to be true.
So, Aaron settled with patting her shoulder.
As Liam walked onto the field, Scott followed closely behind him.
The game soon resumed as a sharp whistle echoed through the air.
While she wanted to focus solely on Austin, Ryder couldn't stop her eyes from traveling to Garrett, who was closing in on Liam.
The crowed gasped as Brett, a Devonford Prep student, collided with Liam, sending the shorter teen a few inches from his previous spot.
"Oh, my God!" Josie covered her mouth in shock, instinctively reaching over to grab Ramona's hand.
"Shit."
Liam cried out in pain, the sound being clear to Ramona and Ryder, the two wincing slightly.
After a few seconds of silence, Austin looked over at the family, sending a quick thumbs up.
"He's okay."
"That didn't sound okay." Jennifer pointed out, worried for the younger boy.
"Why'd he do that?"
"He was protecting him." Ryder mumbled, "They're going after Liam."
•••
"I talked to Coach. I'm out for the rest of the game." Liam said as he walked up to Scott, "What are you gonna do?"
Austin joined their small huddle, taking off his helmet and shaking the sweat that soaked his hair.
He reached over to grab his water, his blue eyes scanning the crowd. It didn't take long for him to notice Ryder walking down with their families following closely behind her.
He brushed past Scott to get to them, "What's going on?"
"They're going home." Ryder informed him, "Your mom's paranoid and my dad doesn't want any of us getting hurt. Jenn talked to Coach and he said you're clear to leave."
"Did she—"
"She didn't go into detail. I'm assuming he just thinks she doesn't like the violence of the game."
"I don't know. Something's still not right. We're missing something." Scott's voice caught their attention.
"Guys. Lydia just broke another third of the list." Stiles ran up to them, his words had them both nervous and oddly excited.
Liam adjusted his gear, "Am I on it?"
"No. But someone else is."
Ryder couldn't help but huff at the name on Stiles' phone screen.
Brett.
Brett, who was alone and injured, completely incapable of defending himself.
"Oh, shit."
