end of the dead pool?

Ryder sat next to Austin with wide eyes while the person in front of her simply stared back at her with an unnerving smile.

"What the hell are doing back?"

He shrugged with a scoff, "Maybe I missed you guys."

"Bullshit." She rolled her eyes, "Does Derek know you're back?"

"No."

"Scott?"

"No."

"Literally anyone?"

"You guys do."

"Yeah, because you saved Austin." Ryder huffed, annoyed that she wasn't getting anywhere.

"You're welcome for that, by the way."

Austin nodded in gratitude, "Thanks."

"Isaac, you know about the deadpool. We've been telling you everything so you could avoid coming back, not so you could make some idiotic decision to play hero."

"If I hadn't played hero, your boyfriend would be dead." The Lahey pointed out.

"Actually—they said they weren't going to kill me, they were just going to—"

"Stop it."

"It's not like it was a spontaneous decision, okay? I've been planning on coming back, I just figured i'd make it quicker."

"And where do you plan on living?"

Isaac let out a long sigh, "I don't wanna bother Melissa and I was thinking about asking your parents to stay with you guys but after finding out that your mom's pregnant, i'm kind of out of options."

"I'm actually glad you said that!" A chirpy voice echoed from the kitchen.

The three teens' eyes snap to the woman that just so happened to be ease dropping, "What?"

Jennifer George walked into the living room, standing behind the chair her son sat in, her hands making their way onto his shoulders as she spoke directly to Isaac, "You can live with us."

"Mom—"

"We have plenty of room here, Austin. Unless you plan on giving that spare room to a stranger, Isaac can live here. I wouldn't want a kid living on the streets of a town like Beacon Hills, especially considering what's been going on lately."

Ryder watched as her boyfriend scratched his head in thought, already knowing there was no point in arguing with Jenn.

"I can pay you back, I promise—"

"No need." Jennifer waved him off, "It'll be fun taking care of two kids again."

And there it was.

That right there was the reason Austin was so hesitant in agreeing with Isaac staying with them. While part of the issue was that he felt weird living with someone that used to have the hots for his girlfriend...the other was the fact that he knew his mother would try and use Isaac as a placeholder.

He was ridiculously over it at this point, but whatever made his mother happy he guessed.

"Alright, then."

"Thank you. Seriously." Isaac spoke softly, earning a smile in return,

"Of course."

Austin grunted as she stood up, "Let's go let the others know that you're back."

Ryder seemed to perk up at the thought, gasping softly before grabbing both boys' wrists and dragging them towards the door, "I want to introduce you to Liam. I think you'll hate him."

"Wait—we have to meet Stiles and Malia at Lydia's lake house." Austin cut her off.

"Oh, right."

"You're friends with Lydia?"

Ryder scoffed, "Absolutely not. There's a million things i'd do before i'd consider Lydia Martin a friend. Killing myself being first on that list."

"And what about Malia?"

"We'll get there when we get there. For now, it's details to follow."

"She's out of Eichen—?"

"Details to follow."

"Okay! We're here!" Ryder shouted into the lake house, announcing her presence.

"It's about time, we've been..." Stiles trailed off as he looked as if he'd seen a ghost, "What the hell is he doing here?"

"Am I not allowed in the town i was born in?"

"Didn't you move here in second grade?" Ryder furrowed her brows as she moved past the boys to stand by Malia, the girl greeting her with a smile.

"Who told you that?" Isaac's attention moved to her, his brows raising as he took note of the girl next to her, brushing off her response as he smiled a bit, "You must be Malia."

"Yeah." The Tate girl deadpanned.

"God, Peter's genes must be fantastic because you are gorgeous."

Ryder and Austin shared a look, the couple muttering in unison, "Ew."

"She's also taken." Stiles chimed in.

"You're dating Stilinski?"

"Does it really matter?" Austin asked, "Can we get this over with? I really wanna go get ice cream."

"I want ice cream." Ryder added.

"You can come get ice cream." Austin smiled sweetly at her, having already planned on taking her with him.

"I can't remember the last time I had ice cream." Malia told them.

"Malia can come too!"

"Can we just listen to the tape?!" Stiles cut them all off, growing agitated with the constant speak of the treat.

Isaac scoffed, "He hasn't grown any less bossy since i've been gone."

"What are we doing? This room wasn't even made for us. No, we need someone like Lydia or Meredith, and we're just sitting here listening to a stupid record player play a record that doesn't play anything." Stiles snapped, flicking the record player off before going to leave the room, "Come on. There's plenty of other things we can be totally useless doing."

"Way to have faith." Austin muttered.

"Not all of us are useless by the way." Ryder spoke up, "Speak for yourself."

"What's that noise?" Isaac looked around the room with a face of confusion.

Malia narrowed her eyes, "Stiles."

"Yes?"

"I can still hear it."

"But it's not on."

"Clearly." Ryder rolled her eyes.

"Then it's something else. Something spinning."

"Uh..." The Stilinski trailed off, looking around the recorder while the others stood back. He let out a breath before moving the table completely and showing the wire that went into the wall.

He looked at the others to figure out what to do, his eyes landing on Austin who nodded for him to pull it out. Once he got as far as he could, Isaac and Malia stepped forward to help him rip the wall apart completely. They stepped back in shock at what was in front of them,

"What is this?"

"A dead pool."

They had been standing in silence for a few minutes now, quietly debating on what to do.

"Break it." Isaac shrugged. Malia hummed thoughtfully, raising a fist before she was stopped,

"You can't just smash it to pieces. Okay? If this thing's being used to disseminate the list, then it's probably gonna keep going until everyone's dead."

"Then what do we do?"

"It needs some kind of prompt or command or something, right?"

Ryder let out a breath, "What about a key?"

"Huh?"

Malia stood next to her sister, pointing to the rather obvious key while on the machine.

"Call Lydia."

•••

"You see it? There's got to be a way to turn it off, right?"

"I don't know. I don't know anything about computers from the 1970s."

"Neither do we."

"Okay, where's the monitor?"

"Lydia, there is no monitor. There are buttons, knobs, spindles, no monitor." Stiles said.

"Wait, turn the phone back. Point it at the carpet."

"The what?"

"The floor! Just show me the floor. Where's the stain? There should be red blotches, a wine stain."

Stiles did as told, "There's nothing."

"That doesn't make sense. I gave the $500 I was supposed to use to hire cleaners to Brunski."

"Lydia, what the hell does wine have to do with anything?"

"Red wine doesn't just disappear." Isaac said, his mind going back to the one fight he had with his father over spilling red wine on a shirt that didn't even belong to the older Lahey.

"Unless it wasn't wine."

"What? What do you mean?"

"The ashes weren't ashes. The study isn't a study. The record player isn't a record player. So..."

"So maybe the wine wasn't wine." Austin finished.

"Stiles, you have to find the wine. Find the bottle. There could be something about it."

"What kind? What's it called?"

"It's a 1982 Cotes du Rhone."

Stiles ran down to search for the drink, coming back in less than a minute. He shook the bottle, frowning as he heard rattling,

"I think there's something inside. Do you have, like, a wine opener or—"

Stiles is cut off by Malia simply snatching the bottle from his hand and slamming it on the ground.

"Be careful." Austin said as Ryder pulled the key from under the broken glass.

She brushed past Stiles to stick the key into the hole, inhaling softly before she turned the key. The room grew silent as the whirring of the monitor stopped. The air was tense before Malia spoke up,

"Is that it? Is it over?"

A/N: surprise!! also fnaf movie was honestly kinda lame...don't shoot the messenger ✋😟🤚
