"Come on, let's eat," I smiled at her, motioning toward the food.
"So, now that you're here, let's get to know each other a bit more," Felix suggested, settling down on the couch with his plate of pasta, savoring each bite.
Luna nodded and joined him, sitting comfortably beside him. "Sounds good to me."
"Alright," Seungmin began, "I'm Kim Seungmin. I'm 18, and I was studying to become a lawyer before... well, all of this happened. Honestly, it wasn't my thing, and I wasn't really good at it either. I much prefer reading, especially mystery novels. As for food, I have a serious sweet tooth—anything with chocolate, and I'm in. But I do enjoy savory foods too. Fried chicken's probably my favorite. Oh, and my drink of choice? Iced tea, no question."
Luna smiled as she listened. "Sweet tooth, huh? A lawyer, though? That's pretty cool."
Seungmin chuckled softly. "Yeah, it was more of a dream my parents had for me. I had to put it on hold. My favorite film is The Pursuit of Happyness, and I'm a big fan of Friends—it always makes me laugh."
"Nice! I'll have to check them out," Luna said thoughtfully.
"I'm Christopher Bang Chan," Chan added, raising his hand with a friendly grin. "I'm 19. Before all this, I was part of the school basketball team. I guess you could say I'm the one who keeps everyone together around here. Music's my thing, but I also used to be pretty into sports—basketball especially, obviuosly. For food, I'm all about savory dishes—pizza, ramen, you name it. And fresh fruit, especially watermelon, is my weakness."
Luna's eyes widened. "Wow, you must've been great at basketball."
"I was decent," Bang Chan said with a light laugh. "But these days, staying alive is more important than anything else."
Lee Know cleared his throat, drawing everyone's attention. "I'm Lee Minho," he said in his usual calm, reserved tone. "I'm 18. I was in school for a bit, but mostly I worked part-time as a dancer. Dancing's my passion, but I also like basketball, like Chan. For food, I lean toward savory—ramen and dumplings are my go-to. My drink? Green tea, hands down. Before everything, I had a pretty ordinary life. Nothing too special, but I enjoyed being around people."
Luna smiled softly at him. "It sounds like you had a pretty cool life before all this."
Lee Know nodded, his tone a little softer. "Yeah, it was normal. But I think we're all finding new meanings now, right?"
"I'm Han Jisung," Han grinned, jumping in enthusiastically. "I'm 18, and I used to be into acting. I was in a few plays before all this. I also enjoy writing—mostly songs or stories. As for food, I'm all about the sweet stuff—cakes, cookies, anything sugary. Cheesecake's my favorite, but I'm not picky—I can eat pretty much anything. My drink of choice is lemonade. I've always liked the simple things."
Luna laughed, her energy lifting. "You seem like the fun one of the group. I totally get the cake obsession."
Han gave a playful shrug. "I try."
"I'm Hwang Hyunjin," Hyunjin said, flashing a charming smile. "I'm 18, and I used to be an art student. I loved everything to do with art—drawing, sketching, painting. For food, I'm all about savory, especially pizza and pasta. My favorite drink? Definitely iced americano. Before everything, I had a pretty normal life too. Busy with work and modeling, but it kept me on my toes."
Luna nodded. "It's interesting how everyone had their own thing before... but now it's all different."
Jeongin spoke up next, his voice a little shy. "I'm Jeongin, 17. Before the outbreak, I was studying... not really sure for what. I did love experimenting with recipes, though. For food, I'm definitely into savory—sushi, rice dishes, all that. But I've got a soft spot for sweets, especially pastries. I'm not picky when it comes to drinks, but I love fruit juices. Life before... it was good. Nothing extraordinary, but simple and peaceful."
Luna smiled warmly. "It sounds like you all had really interesting lives before everything changed."
"Yeah, we did," Felix said, chuckling. "I'm Felix, by the way. I'm 18, and I was a student before all this. I also loved photography. I guess I liked capturing moments, preserving memories. As for food, I love both sweet and savory, but if I had to pick, sweet wins—chocolate and cookies are my go-to. But I'm also obsessed with fried chicken. For drinks, soda is my thing. I miss life before the virus... it was normal. But we're making do now, right?"
Luna felt a bit more at ease hearing their stories. "I had a pretty normal life too," she said quietly. "I was studying and spending time with my family. I loved watching movies, especially thrillers, and I was obsessed with a lot of Netflix series. For food, I guess I'm like Seungmin—I love sweets, but I also crave savory, especially spicy ramen. Iced americano and soda are my favorite drinks. I miss hanging out with my friends and just living normally."
The group nodded in understanding, sharing a quiet moment of empathy.
"We all had our lives before everything changed," Seungmin said thoughtfully. "But now, we're making new lives together. We'll figure it out."
Luna smiled at the group, feeling more comfortable. "Yeah, we will."
"I'm Seo Changbin," he said with a grin. "I was a med student before all of this. I also loved going to the gym. I'm big on savory foods, especially anything spicy. And for drinks, I can't go without milk or a good fruit shake. My life was pretty simple: gym, school, eat, and sleep."
"Wow. What's the gym like? I've never been," Luna admitted, eyes wide with curiosity.
Changbin chuckled. "It's nice, but pretty sweaty. Definitely not as glamorous as some people think."
I shifted, drawing Luna's attention. "I'm Haewon," I said, smiling. "Before all this, I loved hanging out with my friends, going out to eat, and visiting fun places. I always dreamed of studying medicine. I liked the idea of helping people who needed it. Oh, and marathoning Christmas movies with Hyunjin was a must—we waited all year for that."
Luna's eyes lit up. "So, you two knew each other before everything happened?"
"Yeah!" I beamed. "We've been friends since we were just two months old."
"That's so cool," she said, her smile warm and genuine.
Felix stretched and let out a yawn. "So, are you guys getting sleepy?"
Han nodded, already flopping onto the couch dramatically. "Exhausted," he mumbled, resting his head on Lee Know's lap.
Lee Know rolled his eyes and tried to nudge Han off with a laugh. "Get off, you squirrel-faced menace."
Chan stood up, glancing around. "Alright, let's call it a day. Everyone to your rooms. Good night, everyone."
"Good night," I said, returning his smile.
After tidying up the remaining dishes, we all started moving toward our rooms. Seungmin handed Luna a towel as we walked. "We all bathed this morning, but if you want to freshen up, here's a towel."
"Thanks!" she said, her eyes lighting up as she took the towel and closed the bathroom door behind her.
Han, already in his pajamas, sat cross-legged on his bed. "She's nice. What do you guys think?"
"I like her," I said, smiling as I tucked into bed. "She seems really fun."
The others nodded in agreement as they settled into their spots and pulled their covers up.
Luna returned from the bathroom, looking refreshed, and quietly found her spot. The room grew quiet as we all nestled in, the weight of the day settling over us. I closed my eyes, missing the familiar warmth of Hyunjin next to me. He'd always been my closest friend, but deep down, I had a feeling Luna was going to be my best friend too.
