When Naomi heard the truth about who she was it was as if the world finally made sense. Daemon, who in the time they spend together came to be like a son turned out to be her son. She didn't remember him, she only knew the memories they had recently shared. Yet, the love she felt for him made sense then. He was her son, her flesh and blood.

Serena loved Daemon. More now that she knew he was her son. The two spend their time together everywhere, both being joined by their own children. Daemon loved his brother and sister, specially Nymeria who looked more like his mother than anyone else.

The months passed and Daemon was happy again, he had his mother by his side alongside his siblings. Yet, the guilt of this new secret kept him awake at night. He thought about how his siblings would react to this. Daemon had told his mother about his other siblings and little by little she remembered yet she stated she was not ready to let them know she lived. She knew at some point she would have to.

One day, a raven from Dorne arrived. Prince Qoren and his family decided to visit thanks to Prince Daemon. King's Landing was under gossip about the arrival of the Dornish royals. Daemon had arrived days before them alongside his children. The Targaryen family welcomed him and his children.

Serena Stark was back to King's Landing yet it felt unknown to her. She did not recognize what once used to be her home. She wore a veil that covered her face. Yet the dress was revealing. Aemon spotted her first. He did not recognize her at first. No one did. She had grown older but her beauty remained. The court was full of whispers and looks. When the Targaryen's got a good look at the Martell children they saw similarities of Serena in them. When Aemon and Baelon saw young Nymeria they could have sworn little Serena was looking right at them. It was the spitting image of their once close companion.

Aemon and Baelon tried to look at the Dornish princess but her vail covered her face too well. They had to wait till supper. Finally, supper had arrived. Everyone was there but the wife of Qoren Martell. The youngest children were running around the other Targaryen children. When Naomi finally showed the dinning room fell silent. There she was in all her glory. Aemon dropped his cup of wine not caring if it got on his clothes.

Baelon didn't want to believe his eyes. How could he? Naomi had been dead for nearly six years here she was now, standing right in front of him. The room was quiet. Eerily quiet. No one dared to say a word. Rhaenys spoke first. "Mother?" she asked. Naomi or Serena smiled. "I..." she didn't know how to tell them. She remembered bits and pieces but not everything. Daemon stood up. "She doesn't remember a lot aside from the last six years. After she fell she sort of forgot everything she had ever known" no one knew what to say.

Visenya stood up. She walked over to her mother and hugged her. Serena stood still for a second before returning the hug. "I've missed you so so much, mother" she sobbed. Serena rubbed her back like she used when she had nightmares or when she used to cry. "I'm here, my brave girl" even if she didn't remember her. Visenya knew the woman in front of her. Serena was the only person who called her that. It was a nickname she gave her when she lost her first tooth as a young child.

Despite not remembering a lot, Serena could feel the emptiness being filled in her heart. When she looked at her children, everything felt some familiar. She could see herself in them, and even though most of them resembled their father you could see glimpses of her in them. Her children stood up, each and every single one rushing to be in their mother's arm. Aemon stood back, watching his children welcome back the mother they thought they had lost. He desperately wanted to be near her too but he knew it was not the time.

Daemon explained everything and how he came to find his mother. Although his siblings were upset he kept them away from her they understood. Serena didn't remember much from her past aside from a few things. Viserys mentioned her Dragon returned but after a few days it flew off. Qoren and his wife had heard of a Dragon resting somewhere away from people yet close enough to them but it never bothered them nor it cause trouble. Daemon had seen the Dragon, Heartfyre, his mother's dragon that's how he knew his mother was there and alive.

As the night went on, her children told her stories. She smiled, laughed and cried in some. She could remember those times as they spoke. She regained her memory in a unique way, yet for someone like her it seemed possible. Serena found herself near Visenya's Hill. It was quiet and empty. Serena sat on the grass and looked at the sky. She felt as if she waited on something or someone. As if on cue, she heard thunder or what she thought was thunder. She quickly came to realize that what she had now infant of her was no storm but a dragon. The dragon was a beauty and as the beast and the princess stared at each other a flood of memories caused through Serena's mind.

The princess was so caught up on her memories that she did not see nor felt the dragon make its way over to her. Heartfyre knew who she was as soon as she saw her arrived at the Keep. The dragon knew she would come see her soon. They were bound for life and she had been beside her her entire life, even when she didn't know who Heartfyre was. But, now, as Serena looked into her dragon's eyes she saw her whole life. The life she had lived and the one she was living in that moment.

Serena walked over to her dragon. She held her hand out for her to sniff it. Heartfyre did as she expected and got close to her. "I've missed you, my sweet girl" she whispered as she pressed her head into the dragons nose. The dragon and the rider stood still. Neither making a sound. "I remember" she spoke in Valyria before she decided to mount her dragon for the first time in years. Everyone had seen Heartfyre in the sky for the first time since the "princess's death" but this time, the princess was also back. Yet, they did not know that just yet. Serena returned and she rushed to her chamber. She would have to wait till the morning to share the news.

There was something else that needed to be discussed. Serena's husband. She had been married to Baelon first and they were still married seeing as she was still alive. Baelon had yet to speak to her, not that she wanted to. Aemon was waiting for the right time. King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne requested to see her first thing in the morning. In the council meeting Serena requested her marriage to be annulled or dissolved whichever they preferred. She was now married to someone else she loved.

Yet, in the back of her mind her love for Aemon was freshly there. Waiting for her to go back to him. "Qoren and I are happy. With our little family. I will not change it for anything. My children can visit whenever they can as I'll come visit whenever I can" she told them. "We all know Baelon and I are done for. We've been done for years ago" the lords around the table nodded. "Staying married to Qoren will insure us Dorne. We can finally have the Seven Kingdoms united. My daughter, Princess Nymeria will be the ruling princess of Dorne" the king looked at his wife and the councilmen and they all nodded agreeing it would be the best at idea and it was.

Qoren had to return to Dorne but Naomi or Serena as he known referred to as would join him soon with their children. Sadly, three days after his departure the news came. His ship had been intercepted by pirates and the young prince lost his life fighting them off. Serena locked herself in her room. Her children knew nothing but she knew she had to share the news and it was not good yet in a way her children understood. They were too young to truly understand the depth of the situation but they were happy and content with their mother's explanation until they grew older.

Serena returned to Dorne hours later. Finally, meeting her parents there. She cried as she reunited with her mother and other family members. She buried her husband alongside their children and his family. Everyone watched her mourned her lover. Her husband, the man she had come to love throughout the six years of marriage.

Princess Serena was now the regent till her daughter came of age. And as said her children came to visit every chance they got. They would bring their children and such. Daemon never left his mother, he loved the blazing heat of Dorne. Caraxes and Heartfyre did too. Rhaenyra, her siblings and cousins grew up beside their aunts and uncles Serena wouldn't have it any other way.

It had been two years since Qoren's death that her good brother, Arian spoke to her. "I think it's time for you to move on" he said. She smiled. "Ari. We've had this conversation before and it ends the same" she told him. "Qoren loved you. You've made him the happiest man on earth, I could attest to that, sister" he began. "But even a blind man could see and feel the way you cared for the dragon man" Aemon he meant. That was the nickname he had for him. "Qoren would want you to be happy, Rena. I promise you he would.
You deserve to be with him. The two of you have been through a lot and I think it's time for you to get the happiness you deserve. No one will judge you" she looked at the flowers growing in the green garden.

She took a deep breath. "I want to. You're right. I love Qoren. I will always love him. He saved me when I didn't even know I needed saving. Yet, I can't bring it on myself to move on. I am not sure why" she said. "Baelon was everything I thought I ever wanted but, now, as I am older I think Aemon was my one true love. The only man I wanted. Yet, the fear of rejection made me believe it was Baelon who I wanted and sometimes I regret it" there as a brief pause.

She looked at Arian. "Don't get me wrong. I love my children and I wouldn't have it any other way. But, I believe had I been brave and not a coward it would be me and Aemon and not me and Baelon. I would've been happy from the beginning" Arian stood up and kissed the top of her head. "Just let go of the past and move on to the future. Be happy" he said before walking off. Aemon came into the her view.

He sat in front of her. "Princess" he said and she smiled. "My prince" she replied. The two sat in silence for a while. No words were exchanged. He slowly and carefully took her hand and kissed it and she let it happened. "Welcome back, My Serena" he whispered to himself yet she heard him and smiled.

Princess Serena and Aemon married the next year during the summer time. Everyone had gathered at the Keep for the royal wedding of the future Queen and King. After they married, Prince Viserys had been named heir as he was his legitimate son. His children with Aemon had been legitimize with him as brier father whilst Baelon was left with his legitimate children.

A year after their wedding they were crowned by King Jaehaerys who just wanted to retire to be with his wife and enjoy his last years alive. Serena had three more children, surpassing Queen Alysanne. A son who they named Qoren in the name of Serena's second husband. They had a daughter who they named Jocelyn and another daughter who they named Daenaerys.

Aemon and Serena lived a happy life. She would travel back and forth between King's Landing and Dorne. Nymeria was a free spirit and when her time came to take over her mother's crown she proved to be just like her namesake. Her brothers loved to travel to world and they sired many bastards. Serena's line continued through her children, grandchildren and more. The Queen and king reined for nearly fifty years before the two passed away in their sleep. Many had said that Aemon and Serena came into the world together and they both died together. They could no longer stay away from each other, not even in death.

I don't know how I feel about the ending I wrote. I might come back and change the ending later on!
