   𝟯 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, for 3 fucking whole years you and Sonic have just been friends... You clenched on your bandanna that you earned as a gift from your mother as a congratulations for being the next medic in the family.... The soft material rubs against your finger tips, that sooner was crushed by your emotional grip.

   You were happy you've passed but, during your time Sonic has been more to you while you were just still a friend....

"Hey dude want to throw rocks at a palm tree full of coconuts?"

   A word that hurts your heart as you place a hand over it, your fluff fur covers it as you clench that though. 

   You do the most stupidest things with him just so you can see him smile and laugh with you, how your heart flutters when he gets excited over something cool, how he makes your heart skip a beat whenever he lays on your tail—which you didn't mind as you can just listen to him ramble about whatever.

   You're just in love with this hedgehog...

   And he can hurt you somehow without him knowing it!

   You laid down on your bed and let out a shaky sigh feeling your eyes slowly closing and small tears drip out.

   You place a hand over your face, wishing someone can comfort you. Sonic would, but as a friend is his only excuse.

"Hey don't worry about it, that's what friends are for."

   Gosh you just fell in love with an idiot yeah? You sniffle as you rub your eyes, ready to sit up you flinch by your door opening.

   You look at the entrance to see a silhouette of another mobain.

"Y/n?"

   She crept up and it was your sister, her hair grown a longer as it's tied in a ponytail, her bandanna was like yours too! Her look made you look away.

"W–What is it?"

   She just walks over and sat on the mattress of your bed, you tilt your head by this.

"Boy you better not say 'you're fine' after having a full on break downs... So tell me why you're crying?"

"......."

   No answer. Just you looking down with a small frown.

"It's him isn't?"

"..... Yeah."

   Your voice whispers, becoming quite but loud enough to hear up close. 

   She sighs and brings you into a hug.

"Y/n just forget about him! Move on, he's just an idiot who lost a chance with one of the best people on this island!!"

   She said proudly, while your eyes widens but lowers as your thought got second ones.

"But, maybe I still have a chance with him–"

"Y/n, my brother, my twin, he's one hella dense mother fucker and runs every time."

   She said deadpanned at you with a small shadow casting between her eyes.

"Plus you got your other friends! Like pinky–"

"Amy?"

"Yeah her, she looks like she likes you a lot."

   She nudges with a smirk.

"She's just humble and positive Honey, I think she likes him too. Heck even her and him can be a better couple here on this island!"

"Hmm then that weird badger and wholesome guy!"

"T-They're confusing. I'm not sure about my feelings for them.."

"Geez you're so picky."

"EH NO?!"

   You said, Honey just sweat drops at the reaction.

"I was kidding sorry, but you got time and the years to hang with them to get to know them well! So forget that Sonic and look for a new island crush!"

"...... It won't be easy to forget him, when soon I'll see him everyday when I move there!"

   That's right, once you turn 16 you shall move other there to watch over the village people! That means more friend hangouts, seeing him all the time, making your poor heart ache, and more chaotic things!

   You just roll to the side of the bed and grumble.

"Now I can see why you gave me that hopeless romantic book,..."

   You hear Honey sigh.

"Yelp I got that as a joke for your actually."

"Hehe."

   You laughed a bit. But the you furrow your brows over a sentence she said once when you guys were young.

"Gee, I guess if you love something or someone, you gotta let them go..."

"I'll let him go."

"Huh?"

"I'll let him go."

   You said getting your and huffed your chest. Your dry tears didn't help make your appearance more appealing.

"It'll be a while but thinking about the amount of times he escaped love, he looked so carefree too without a partner, I don't want to take that away from him."

   You said saddened. That's when you felt a pull by Honey.

"YEAHHH DON'T WORRY THERES PLENTY OF PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT WILL BE PERFECT FOR YOU!! I especially know this one guy who's hella strong and I know you like him too–"

"OKAY THAT'S ENOUGH SIBLING BONDING!!"

   Your face became flustered again, Honey smirks at this.

"Anyways wash your your face, Bingo is going to aggressively ruffle your hair since you pasted."

   All you did was smile and nod as she walks away, you stare down at your hands then took a deep breathe.

"I'll try and move on! I hope this time the heavens help me."
