You Did What?
Once they had claimed their seats, Percy ran to get snacks with the money his mom had lent him. Annabeth saved their seats, though no one else had entered the theater room. The previews had ended by the time Percy got back, carrying a large popcorn, one large soda, and multiple different candies.
"Where's my soda?" Annabeth asked.
Percy dumped the candy into her lap and sat down with the popcorn bucket. "Mom didn't give me enough money for two sodas."
"You bought all this candy! Why didn't you buy the drinks first?"
Percy shrugged. "Candy is a priority. You can share my soda with me, though." He offered her the cup. She glared at him.
"No thanks," she muttered.
Percy, feeling desperate to lighten the mood, said, "So...what movie is this?"
"Uh, I think it's called Twilight. I don't know; you're mom picked it."
Percy stared at her. "What?"
She looked nervously at him. "Well, she seemed like she really wanted to, so..." He groaned. With his luck, Mrs. Jackson would've picked something embarrassing.
Annabeth laughed. "Oh, don't stress it, Seaweed Brain. It'll be fine."
Well, halfway through the movie, Percy was ready to leave.
"How much longer?" Percy asked impatiently.
Annabeth rolled her eyes. "It's only been half an hour."
"Are you actually enjoying this?" She shrugged.
Really, she wasn't. She thought it was pretty dumb, especially since the boy was a vampire. The girl should know better than to fall in love with a vampire. But she was enjoying spending time with him, even if she felt embarrassed to admit it.
