The medecine she cat emerged from the vines curtain with a blank start.
Her clanmates exchanged low words, some stared at her without saying anything, while others meowed her a "welcome back".

As the brown she cat with blue-eyes prepared to enter in her den, a green-eyed tomcat blocked her way.

"What happened at MoonStream?" he questioned, a glare of worry in his eyes.

"Have you seen the ConstellationClan ?" Meowed a red she cat.

" Our ancestors didn't abandon us, did they?"

The medecine cat in question, looked away. And announced in a very small voice:

"None of us have seen the warriors the past."

" That is impossible !" a black apprentice gasped

"Are you really sure?" An elder, who came to join the gathering insisted. "ConstellationClan can never disappear as such."

"Believe me, or not I know what I'm saying." The medecine muttered.

"But-"

A heartbreaking cry was suddenly heard from the nursery, preventing the elder from finishing his sentence. A gray female stuck her head out of the den

- BrambleLeaf! she yelled, looking for the healer. Someone bring BrambleLeaf! ReedLeaf is going to give birth!

" I'm here !" The medecine meowed as she ran towards the nursery, finding a pale red female lying on the ground.

"Calm down, BrambleLeaf advised her. It will be over soon."

She then turned to the other queen
Could you get me some raspberry leaves, BrightLight? You never know, I might need them just in case.

BrightLight nodded, and returned very quickly from the healer's den, with the leaves in her mouth.
"Put them there," Bramble Leaf ordered her, without looking away, then noticing a piece of wood right next to it, the healer took it and placed it in front of Reed Leaf

- Take this stick, as soon as the pain comes, bite it as hard as you can

The queen nodded, and brought the stick close to her. Suddenly, she spat and the stick caught in two. A small package slid gently on the moss, the medecine tore the pocket that trapped the kitten, once it was completely out, BrambleLeaf brought it against its mother's fur, where it ended up finding a breast to suckle

- Where is AgileStar? Asked the queen, worried

- I'm here ReedLeaf

The pale ginger she cat purred at the sound of her mate's voice as he rubbed against her. Suddenly she let out a cry of pain, and another package, burst out of the other pocket. BrambleLeaf did the same thing with the other kitten, placing it towards another udder where it also began to suckle.

"That one's a male," brambleleaf meowed, pointing to the first born. "And the other is a female" , she added, focusing her gaze on the second hairball.

- They are so beautiful. Purred AgileStar as his mate licked the newborns to warm them up.

The leader then remained silent for a moment, then turned his gaze towards the healer
" I would like to talk to you in my den," he said, starting to drag her out.

-What did you want to tell me? Asked the brown medicine as she sat down.

The leader took a deep breath
-If you ask me, the Constellation Clan did not abandon us. Otherwise, why would he give us new kittens?

Brambleleaf nodded. AgileStar continued:
-However, I have the feeling that they were not born by chance, so I would like you to tell me frankly. Is one of my kits special?

The medecine therefore understood what her leader was meant.
" Each kit has its own special way of being" she replied in a soft voice.

The medecine wanted to respond with negotiation, but seeing her leader's look full of hope, and remembering the concerns of her clanmates, BrambleLeaf responded with a lie.

"So, I guessed it right" . he said
"One of my kittens is the chosen one in a prophecy."
