"So who are we trying to find?" The officer asked the man beside her. He was a detective who seemed to be in his forties. His hair was slicked back trying to give him a more professional look which only failed as the gray hairs from his head peaked their way out to the front of his face. He wore one of his usual suits which had a small coffee stain from where he accidentally spilled some on himself. The bags under his eyes didn't help when it came to his age.

The officer on the other hand was a young girl in her twenties. She had dirty blonde hair that was pulled into a ponytail so as not to get in her way. She was wearing the police uniform that she had to wear but it was a bit baggy compared to when she wore it before. Her green eyes met his brown ones as she waited for an answer.

"Edrick Butterfly. From the report, he's a six-foot-two white male with black hair and... I didn't get an eye color oddly enough. Apparently, he didn't look up at people often"

He explained to the officer beside him as she simply nodded. The forest was quiet a bit too quiet. The single sound of a branch cracking or a small animal scurrying around was enough to make them jump. The farther they went in the darker they got. Not even their flashlights could help them against the darkness which was seeming to swallow them whole.

"Y-You did say his mansion was around here too right? Why would someone live in a place like this" The officer asked as her voice trembled scared for what they might find.

"I'm unsure but let's just look around and get this over with" The detective said now speaking quietly so as not to alert what is around.

Suddenly the officer heard a clicking sound. She looked around only to find a butterfly. Its presence shamed what little light there was to provide comfort from what lies ahead. The forest wasn't as quiet as before. For a moment she found happiness in the gloomy atmosphere.

"Hey look it's a butterfly" She said happily to the detective who she couldn't see as he was still walking forwards.

"Are you just saying that cause the guy's last name is butterfly or there actually is one? Anyways that doesn't matter let's just keep going" The detective continued to march forward soon just becoming a shadow in the dark.

On the other hand, the officer stuck around giggling at the sight of the butterfly. Soon enough this had to end as the butterfly flew off. That's when she realized she was all alone.

"Detective?"

She called out but there was no reply back. She just thought he went on ahead and went to follow him. All of a sudden she heard it.

Click...click...click...

It was the butterfly! Or so she thought. Soon enough it sounded like more have come. Ten? Eleven? Twenty?! The noise grew louder and louder. The officer covered her ears. Though this did not help.

"MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP!"

She screamed but it only got louder. All of a sudden she felt something grab her...but it wasn't human. She slowly turned to look at it...

"H̶̱͔̓͂͒̔̾̕̕͝E̶̛͔̤͖͒̿̍͌̊͐̄̿̇L̸͉͎̖̞̬̫͒͋̈́P̶̝̦̒ ̸̧̬͔͕̿̇̇͊̿͆̓̃̏͘Ḿ̵̞̜̃̽̚͠E̸͎͒̃̐͐͗̾̇͝ ̸͙̲͖͙̃̿͆͐̒͂͝͝P̴̧͎̗̺̘͑̄̾͜͝L̶͎͓͍̳̙͍̔̓͝E̸͎̝̘͇͚̺͎̖͔̍̒̈̄́̏̃͋A̴͈̣͙͆͠Ș̶̝͖̟͈̤͚̝͇̫̃̃̿E̵͓͈̘̜̟͒̉͑͆̅̊̑̚ͅ"

But her screams were drowned out by the clicking noise.

The detective simply carried on not knowing his friend was the next victim of the butterfly mansion.
