Gameplay
Timeline:
Each chapter takes place over a quarter moon. That means if 8 chapters pass, your character will be 2 moons older.
Each moon will follow this pattern:
Chapter 1:Crisis
Chapter 2: Halfmoon gathering/Summoning
Chapter 3:Crisis
Chapter 4: The Gathering
You'll probably recognize The Gathering from the books. It's a meeting at Painted Rocks between all the clans. A Summoning is the The Children of the Ember's equivalent. A Halfmoon Gathering is held at the Moonmirror by the medicine cats and the apprentices of the clan.
A Crisis is a natural disaster or environmental problem that one or all the clans will have to deal with. It could be a wild animal attack, a storm, a plague, a famine, an eclipse. In order to survive, cats will have to work together.
Other problems, such as border skirmish, a war, or an attack by The Children could happen at any time.
Prophecy:
There are two main prophecies that will drive the story. Here they are:
The First StarClan Prophecy:
A fire light's a collar left on the sand,
6 will be chosen when all seems lost,
3 to preserve, 3 to destroy.
If 3 become one, the clans will die,
But only their sacrifice will heal the poison of hate.
The Second StarClan Prophecy:
Twisted minds and broken dreams,
Ambition tears cats at the seams.
A cat of three clans but at home in none,
A stream to power which blocks the sun.
Wisdom slumbers beneath the dunes,
A bird must choose to strike or swoon.
A wildfire eats away at the clans' heart,
If coddled and spoiled it will tear you apart.
The Oracle's Prophecy:
When the last bridge breaks,
When the sky attacks,
When the hunger aches,
All disease will wrack.
When the night is set alight by an ember,
The Ancestors will awake and remember
Their power to drive out the Clans forever!
If you have a medicine cat, or medicine cat apprentice character, you can request to add a prophecy of your own from me.
Powers:
Powers will be given out based on player request.
If I believe your power is unbalanced, I might suggest a drawback or a change to make it more fair.
Goals:
To succeed, you'll want to make your clan as powerful as possible. You can do that with words, or war
Another thing you'll have to deal with are The Children of Ember. Either with words or with claws, you'll need to stop their threat to the clans. If you're one of The Children, you'll need to get the Clans to respect your way of life or force them out for good.
Bring your prophecy to the conclusion your character would want.
These are just ideas, the main point of the game is to have fun with your characters. These are just here to help you if you don't feel like you know what you're doing.
Summaries:
If you have missed a chapter and feel out of the loop, never fear! I will write summaries of what happened the chapter before so you can always be caught up.
If you just want to read about everything that happened, summaries will include an edited version of everything that happened last session too, laid out like a real book chapter.
