[The Hunt]
Even when doing her job [Name] is still annoyed
[Name] sat on the edge of a roof, crouched as she surveyed the bustling streets and run-down buildings. She didn't exactly expect much fun out of tonight but she was still pissed about her current situation even if she had the motivation to go through with it. "Ughhhh Tomu why exactly do I have to do this- I got that exam tomorrow or whatever and doing this is a pain in the ass!" [Name] groaned into the small walkie talkie, the sound of static slowly fading away as she waited for a response.
"High paying job, [Name] and it's simple enough so it shouldn't complicate your exam tomorrow, suck it up and get it over with." The walkie talkie buzzed causing [Name] to groan in response, slumping back. Her ring clinked as she drummed her fingers against the hilt of her knife, nothing was every interesting if it was simple- [Name] craved a hunt, a chase, chaos anything that could make it fun but at this point, everything was just a nuisance.
"Fine but you owe me Tomu- make the next one interesting!" She hissed shoving the walkie talkie into her pocket and jumping up. A purple haze shifted across her vision as she stared through the window of the building they had told her to focus on. It was decrepit and crumbling, most of the floor had broken and collapsed leaving a clear enough view of the entrance and that was all that [Name] needed. Sure normally a knife might not reach that far but with enough force and the right swing it could go anywhere she wanted. Strings of calculations ran through her head as her sight sharpened, focused and she began to ease into routine. Within the world of purple, her target emerged in a shade of looking over his shoulder cautiously, his steps were shaky and unsure- something was going wrong or he was in the know of his fate. It wasn't a thing that would throw her off, even if something went off the rails someone would still end up dead and it sure as hell wouldn't be her.
[Name] swung herself upwards, planting her feet firmly as she gripped the hilt loosely, waiting for her target to take the step through the door. "Come on hurry up-" [Name] whispered, if this took any longer some pro-jerk might just catch on and she didn't want another annoyance ruining her night. A light ringing in her ears, followed by a dull purple glow allowing a smirk to cross her face if they were trying anything she'd be far more prepared than they could suspect. Then her target stepped into range, slipping one hand into her pocket she lifted her other arm and began to swing the blade around preparing for the throw. When she once again began to hear ringing and a dull thud behind her she threw. Trusting the knife to hit its point she turned and stared down a pro hero.
[Name] couldn't express her excitement as Eraser Head gave her a blank stare. It had been years since she could have an equal and unaffected fight. Slowly she felt her enhancements fade, rolling her shoulders as she turned to him, pulling her face mask up. "Nice to see you Eraser, didn't expect to get you assigned to my case!" [Name] laughed, "You have no idea how long I've waited for something like this to happen."
"This doesn't have to be hard Oni, you can turn yourself in." [Name] choked back laughter, as she dropped most of her weapons, clattering onto the roof.
"God, Eraser, you don't take me seriously do you!" Eraser head tensed as she laughed. "Just because I'm younger than a lot of the people you have to deal with normally but I'm just as stubborn as the rest of those guys!"
"Fine." [Name] charged him a smirk clear on her features. Eraser Head swept out her feet, [Name] jumped up, latching onto his shoulders launching herself over his shoulders. [Name] dragged Eraser downwards as she aimed a kick to his chest. A tight cloth wrapped around her lifted leg, forcefully slamming her into the ground the impact created spider webbing cracks from beneath her body. Eraser stood up turning his back to call in the others when from behind him [Name] released a raspy laugh.
"Holy shit- you're really good old man." [Name] coughed, wiping blood from her mouth as her body swayed while she stood. Her body regained a dull glow slowly fading between her neutral purple and a pale yellow. Rubbing her shoulder she swung at him, Eraser quickly blocked skidding backwards from the force. "So what exactly did my file say on me, Mr. Eraser sir?" Eraser kicked the air as [Name] dodged, ducking beneath it with ease. Attempting to punch him in the gut her hand was once again quickly wrapped in cloth, rendering it useless.
"Most of it is classified." He grunted as [Name] finally landed another hit. "But what I can say is that your age is unknown but those with access presume you're a teen-" [Name] narrowly blocked a kick to the hip, determination flaring in her eyes as she aimed another attack at him. "You're currently employed under villains, with little knowledge of who they are-" [Name] scoffed as she was knocked backwards, before jumping at him. "and even though you're currently doing work as a prolific assassin you still do minor acts of heroism. You've been labelled as a villain." [Name] felt her eyes roll without her input, sliding beneath an attack. [Name] came from behind, knee colliding with Eraser Heads back sending him straight into the ground.
"So, Eraser what do you think I am?" She smirked as she leaned over him, foot applying pressure onto his chest. Eraser Head's eyes narrowed, calculating and analysing her every movement.
"I don't know, but can only say that you're a vigilante." [Name] gave him an odd look as she began to step towards the edge of the building.
"Huh- odd. Well love to talk more but I have quite a busy week coming up! So see you soon Eraser!" Blowing Eraser Head a joking kiss, [Name] stepped backwards plummeting to the concrete below and took off in a sprint leaving an aching Eraser Head alone as the world fell into silence.
