Chioma's POV.

I walked into the hospital with my rΓ©sumΓ© in hand. I wasn't scared or worried about not getting the job because I already know that my rΓ©sumΓ© is quite impressive and plus, I'm the daughter of the very famous business man known as Mr Obiora Aniobi - owner of the Anison Enterprise.

Some may say I'm over confident, while I'd like to tag it as courage. After all, not everyone can challenge me. Tango with the scorpion, and you will get stung.

"Good day ma'am. How may I help you?" The receptionist at the front desk, said to me.

"Well, I'm here for the interview" I said nonchalantly.

"Um... You can go that way," she said, pointing at the waiting room where - I noticed - other candidates sat.

"I have to go there? " I asked, stressing the 'there' at the end. The lady looked at me and quirked a brow at me.

"Yes, there " she stressed, already sounding fed up of my presence and I rolled my eyes at her. One flick of my finger, and her job is as good as gone. Stepping on the tail of a tigress, could and would leave a deadly scar at end. In most cases, the victim doesn't survive the tigress's attack and vicious clawing. She should know better than to titter with my patience.

"No, I need to see the doctor that's handling my interview, ASAP. I can't wait like the rest of them" I said, matter-of-factly.

"And why can't you wait like the rest of them?" She sounded irritated but was putting on a really forced and fake smile.

I didn't have time to bicker with this good-for-nothing imbecile, so I decided to rip out phase two out of its hinges.

"Because I don't have the time. Just tell the doctor that Miss. Chioma Aniobi, the daughter of the well known Obiora Aniobi, is here for the interview" I replied, making sure that I stressed mine and my father's name really well, just so she can get the hint. She looked flustered but then regained her composure immediately.

That'll teach her to control her blabbing tongue.

"Sure," she managed a half-smile. "I'll do just that. Just take a seat while I do that" she replied, trying so hard to sound sweet but failed miserably. I rolled my eyes at her once more and took a seat, but not the one at the waiting room, but the one next to her desk. She gave me one last look - more like a glare - before she finally returned her attention back to whatever it was that she was doing and then called the doctor.

After waiting for a while, the door to the doctor's office came open and a doctor in his late thirties, walked towards me. He had this cheery smile on his face and his hands were in the pockets of his white but smudged lab coat.

"Good afternoon, Miss Aniobi. Welcome" he greeted and I did same too.

"I'd like to go in for the interview now. I seriously have no time to waste" I said, checking the time on my phone. It was already 9:35am and I seriously wanted to get this whole thing over with.

"Well, Come in" he said, his irritating smile still glued to his face.

I got up from the chair, which I had been sitting on, and followed him. I was about stepping into his office, when someone got up and grabbed me by my arm - aggressively.

The insolence of the culprit! The fact that they had the nerves to lay a filthy finger of theirs on me, made my blood boil to a hundred degrees.

"And where exactly do you think you're going?" The girl yelled at me, her disgusting hands still on my arm. I pulled my arm away from her and eyed her. If eyes could kill, she would have been twelve feet underneath the ground.

"And who are you to ask me that? Who exactly are you to stop me?!" I yelled back, stressing the 'you'. The girl, who had deep black eyes and black box braids, chuckled at that and folded her arms.

"Well, in case you don't know. We all..." she waved at the rest of the candidates who sat down comfortably on their chairs, watching the entire scenery with keen interest. "...have been waiting here for a really long time. Some of us have been waiting here for hours and yet you have the nerves to just walk into the office like you own the place" she added with a scowl.

Now the doctor had to intervene else things would have turned really ugly real quick.

"Um, Miss..." He said to the girl. "She's in a hurry and we -"

"In a hurry, you say?" She asked, interrupting the doctor as he spoke. "Well some of us have been waiting here for over an hour now, don't you think we also have places to be? Or do you think we have all day?" She fired at me this time. I gave her the deadliest glare I could ever think of. One that would have killed her immediately, something to make her watch her tone and language but the lowlife kept talking. She had the nerve to keep talking.

"Miss, this is a hospital and not a madhouse where you can yell all you want. Please keep your voice down" the doctor said.

"Well, since this is in fact a hospital, why can't you all do your job without being biased about it? You're all favouring her for reasons unknown to me and that is wrong, sir" she said, with much confidence in her voice. She said the last part, with a sarcastic emphasis on the word 'sir'.

"You have no idea who you have just insulted. Mind you that a simple phone call that I'd make will land you in prison for the rest of your dirty and miserable life" I said, trying to make her scared.

"Well, whomever you are is none of my business but I will not sit here and watch you treat people unfairly" she said, making my blood boil to a hundred degrees. How dare she?! This girl clearly didn't what I was capable of doing. She was crossing the line, and clawing at her own death. She was indirectly beckoning on her destruction and digging a pit for herself - in my hands. Gladly, I was ready to take her into hades.

"My father is none other than the very influential Obiora Aniobi. Watch your tongue!" I warned, smirking as I did.

"Well, Miss. Aniobi. No one cares to know who your father is. So stop trying to scare people by mentioning his name. Why can't you tell us your name? Oh, wait, that's because no one knows who you are. You bear his name quite alright but you haven't made a name for yourself. So please do us all a favour and keep quiet. As far as I am concerned you are wrong and you will have to wait like every other person here. Get that into your thick skull!" she said, making all the candidates - including that stupid receptionist - to burst into a fit of laughter and I lost it. She just insulted me! To my face!

She had intentionally splashed mud on my face - with her churning words. She left a wound to my ego, and a bruise to my confidence. How dare she! She is completely unaware of the ruins she's constantly heaping at her doorstep.

Before I could think of a reply, my hand flew across her right cheek and left an imprint I was sure she would never forget. I'm sure she wasn't expecting it because she placed her hand on the part which got slapped with her right palm, her mouth gaped in shock. Everyone present let out a shocked gasp, but I was unfazed by it. She deserves what she got.

A smirk crawled to my face and I folded my arms, and glared at her again. The satisfaction from that slap, connected a memo to her head, one that she'd remember for the rest of her miserable and god-forsaken life. That, was a reminder, that I'll always have the upper hand. But before I could turn my back to leave the scenery, she pulled me back by my hai,r this time, and then she slapped me across my right cheek. Simultaneously!

I stumbled back in shock. Her audacity shook me with rage. No one has ever dared to lay a finger on me, not even my parents. How much more, she? That slap was an insult to my pride, it was an abuse to my self-esteem, and a dent to my confidence.

"How dare you?!" I yelled out, ready to launch myself at her but then the doctor, who was too ashamed to do anything earlier, held me back. I struggled to get his filthy hands off me but he didn't budge.

"You should always use this slap to remember this day. Not every rich person is like you. My father is Mr Diamond Adebayo, the owner of the Diamond Enterprise, the one which is in partnership with the Anison Enterprise. But you don't see me flaunting my wealth and privileges at people's faces. I could've have done what you just did but I refused to do that, instead I waited like every other person here unlike you who wanted to show yourself for something you know you didn't earn." she said with a small smile on her face. I fought with the fool holding me back in order to give her a beating, but no, the moron refused to let me go!

She stepped closer to me, and smirked. With the tip of her finger, she pointed it to my forehead and grinned.

"Here's the difference between the two of us. You lack manners, and I don't" she smiled, pulling her disgusting finger away from my forehead, while I struggled to set myself free from the doctor's grip.

"Oh..." She grinned again. "Here's a tip: I really think you should learn to control your tongue. One day? That tongue of yours would land you into big trouble. And when that happens, don't say I didn't warn you... And when that happens, please make sure to remember this day as well" and with that being said, she gathered her things, while I screamed in refute. I reigned cusses down on her, and repeatedly tried to let the doctor's wretched hands off me.

"Let go of me! I said, let me go! Ugh! You imbecile!" I steamed with anger. I kicked my legs forwards and plunged my elbows at the sides of the doctor's ribs... Yet he didn't let go!

I watched as the girl picked up her stuff and left, but not before eyeing me with a disgusted look on her face.

"Let go of me, you fool!" I yelled, forcefully pulling my arm away from his strong grip. I screamed, the minute he let go of me, and delivered a slap to his left cheek. Everyone present, let out a shocked gasp, yet they knew they couldn't do a thing about it. I could slap them too, or have them put behind bars for the rest of their rotten lives, if I wanted and that's why they were wise enough to stay put in their respective chairs.

He was older than I was, perhaps married with kids, but he was a fool. A fool who needed to be showed his place, and slapping him was the least I could do.

I huffed in anger, and watched as he placed a hand on the part that just got slapped. Shock was written all over his face, and that gave me utmost satisfaction I needed. He couldn't do a thing about it, if he tried to, he'd be done for. I would personally make sure of that.

"You're a stupid man! You're so stupid! And highly useless! How dare an imbecile such as yourself hold me like that? Have you no sense of reasoning?!" I screamed, wanting to strangle him... But I decided against it.

"I'm really sorry" he replied solemnly, a pained expression on his face.

Good. Now he knows just how hurt I feel right now.

"You're a sorry excuse for a doctor. Such an incompetent hospital! I came here seeking for a job, and I got a bunch of idiots instead. You know what? Keep your stupid job! I don't freaking need it!" I yelled, my fists clenched by my side.

A scene had already formed and a lot of people at the hospital were already staring at us. I didn't care to know if they saw. I was hella pissed to even give two shits about what they were thinking. To hell with them! To hell with all of them!

"You all will be sorry! I'll make sure this hospital shuts down! Just you wait and see!" I yelled, grabbing my stuff and storming out of there. I have never felt this insulted in my life. That girl, I don't care if her father is my dad's business partner, but I'll make sure I'll haunt her down. No one insults me or even messes with me and gets away with it. No one!

The minute I got to my car, I couldn't contain my anger. The first thing that rang in my head, was to show that disrespectful wretch to her place. A scummy fool like herself had messed with the wrong tigress. You play with fire, and you will get burnt.

"Seb, follow that car!" I yelled at my driver, referring to the red Toyota Camry the girl got into. "And make sure you don't lose sight of it" I warned and he nodded his head in understanding.

"Yes, ma'am" he said and drove the car out of the hospital's parking lot. He followed the car quietly and I smirked at what I was going to do to that foolish thing.

Wait till I deal with you. You won't even know what hit you...

Femi's POV.

I walked into my office and sat down on my chair.

Another boring office day.

I heaved a sigh the minute I heard a knock on my door, and then I sat up straight on my swevel chair and answered.

"Who's that?" I asked.

"It's me, sir" my secretary said.

"Come in" I replied and the door came open. She walked into the office with a file, which I guess was the one concerning our foreign investors.

Mentally, I let out a groan. That only meant more work. And I didn't want that.

"Sir, here's the file you asked for" she said, handing over the file to me.

"Thank you," I replied, taking the file from her hand. "You can go now"

"Yes, sir" she said and walked out of my office.

I flipped through the file and let out yet another exhausted sigh. Then I heard my phone ring at the background and I picked it up to see the words: 'Kunms', written on the screen. I answered the call, without hesitation but was crushed to hear Kunmi pained voice over the phone.

"Femi," she cried "I- I'm injured. I was attacked on my way home and now I'm severely injured" she said.

"Where are you?" I asked, worry laced in my voice.

"I'm at Allen avenue" she sobbed.

"Okay, I'm on my way" I said as I got up from my chair and headed for the door. "Calm down, okay? I'm on way" I said once more, hoping that was enough assurance. And with that, I hung up and headed out of my office and straight for the elevator.
