How could he think about trying to kiss me? And how could I have let him? I should've at least done something to stop him.
Chioma thought as she hurriedly walked into her car and slammed the door shut.
"Seb, take me home, immediately" she ordered and Seb nodded his head in understanding.
"Yes, ma'am" he replied and started the car, the car purred to life and soon they were on their way home.
As much as she tried getting her mind off the events that took place while she was in the elevator with Femi, she couldn't. She didn't want to admit the fact that she was actually grateful for his help else she would have passed out βsomething that normally happens whenever she's stuck in a tiny room, such as an elevator.
After a long tiring drive - nearly hours, they arrived at their destination.
"Ma'am, we've arrived" Seb informed, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Oh," was all she said before Seb got down to open the car door for her. She got down from the car, still lost in her thoughts, and then she walked into the mansion before her.
"Chioma, where were you?" Amara asked. She still had her uniform on and she was busy watching a movie. She tore her eyes away from the TV just to spare Chioma a glance.
"None of your business" Chioma answered and hurriedly walked up the stairs.
"I was just asking, no need to be rude" Amara said, returning her attention back to the movie.
Chioma stopped in her tracks and looked back at Amara. Then she realized that she wasn't dressed in her home clothes but rather in her school uniform.
"Aren't you supposed to take a shower and change your clothes, before watching TV?" Chioma asked - laying more emphasis on the word 'before' - and Amara shrugged, still watching the movie.
"I'll do that later. This movie is quite interesting" Amara answered, popping some popcorn into her mouth.
"Go up stairs now. Bath, change and then you can come back and watch TV" Chioma said.
"Ohhh!" Amara groaned. "You would have kuku just stayed back at wherever you are coming from. You're such a killjoy!" Amara grumbled.
"I know, right?" Chioma replied with sarcasm laced in her voice. "Get up, now" she ordered and Amara begrudgingly got up from the couch and turned off the TV.
"Fun killer" she muttered as she walked upstairs.
"I heard that!" Chioma hollered as she also proceeded to her room.
"You were meant to hear!" Amara hollered back.

"He did what?!" Amanda half-yelled. She had just arrived at Chioma's place just a few minutes ago and Chioma just finished telling her about what had happened in the elevator.
"He didn't actually do it. He almost did it" Chioma explained, stressing the 'almost'.
"Well, why would he even think of kissing you? I mean, you guys just met and you barely know each other. Is he sick or something?" Amanda asked, sitting beside Chioma on her king size bed.
"I know, right?" Chioma said. "I actually think he is crazy"
"But on the plus side, at least he actually helped you. You would have β"
"Passed out, I know" Chioma completed Amanda's sentence.
"Okay, so let me ask one question. It's a very important question" Amanda said and Chioma nodded,
"Is he fine? As in, is he good-looking?" She asked, unfazed by the stare Chioma was giving her.
"Amanda!" She scolded.
"What? Abeg, answer jare" she said, making Chioma to shake her head in disbelief.
["What? Please, answer"].
"Well, I won't say he is but I also won't say he's not" Chioma lied, deep down in her heart she knew he was good-looking. Why else was she lost in those pretty eyes of his?
"Hello? Earth to Chioma" Amanda yelled out to Chioma who was lost in her own thoughts, thinking about the incident at the elevator.
"What?!" She snapped at Amanda.
"Um, I was talking to you and you totally zoned out on me. What were you thinking about?" Amanda asked and Chioma just shrugged.
"Nothing" she replied.
"Are you sure? Cause I know you very well" Amanda said, quirking a brow at her.
"I wasn't thinking about anything serious. So what were you saying?" she asked, trying to change the topic.
"Ahem!" she cleared her throat. "I was asking if you'd received the appointment letter yet. You know, the one you applied for a job at St. Augustine teaching hospital" Amanda asked and Chioma smiled.
"Well, I haven't received the letter yet but I think I'll get it by tomorrow" she said.
"Okay, so let's watch some movies" Amanda said as she turned on the TV.
Chioma lay on her stomach, on her bed, and also grabbed her bowl of popcorn. Amanda did the same and scrolled through the TV channels using the remote, until she finally stopped at Studio Universal where they were showing Divergent.
"This movie is old na" Chioma whined and Amanda nodded.
"I agree" then she scrolled to M-Net Movies Zone and then clicked on it. The movie began and they sat in silence as they watched it with keen interest, eating their popcorn.

"Ah, Kunmi. Welcome" Femi greeted as he climbed down the flight of stairs, to meet Kunmi seated on the couch with her legs crossed and a smile glued to her face.
"Femi," she beamed. "How far?"
"I'm good" he replied as he sat down beside her on the couch.
"Kunmi, I have some snacks here for you" Mrs. Omashola announced, as she came out of the kitchen carrying a tray containing cookies, Fanta, and some other snacks like buns and two glass cups.
"Here, enjoy" mom smiled, placing the tray on the table and Kunmi thanked her, with a smile on her face.
"Thank you so much ma" she said. Mrs. Omashola smiled at her, and took her leave after that. Femi decided to let Kunmi eat the snacks first before he decided to ask why she wanted to see him. He wasn't complaining that she was paying him a visit, but he was only trying to know the reason for her visit.
"So I cannot decide to come and visit my friend? Is it now a sin?" Kunmi asked and Femi just shook his head.
"No, I was just asking" he said.
"Well, actually I wanted to say Hi to your parents because my dad had sent me to see how you all are doing β It's been a while, you know? I've missed you a lot. I just couldn't resist coming here, reminiscing in the good ole days. I miss our childhood. You doo too, right?" She said, and he nodded his head affirmatively.
"Yes. I really miss those days, a lot" he stared at a distance, like he could see the past flashing before his eyes.
"That's by the way. I also have great news! I'm going for the interview today. I have to get going now but I'll talk to you soon" she informed, getting up to leave.
"Okay then. I will call later to know how it went" he replied.
"Sure. Bye" she said to him. "Maami!" She called out to Femi's mother.
"Yes dear?" Mrs. Omashola answered and hurried to the living room.
"I'm going now. I have an interview that I would really not want to miss. But I promise to come visiting soon" she said and Mrs. Omashola smiled at her again.
"Sure, dear. Bye, I hope you get the job" She said and with that, Kunmi left.
"I really think you two will make a good couple oh. She's such a sweet person, can't you see that?" She said to Femi.
"Mom, we are just friends" he stated the obvious.
"I know that you both are friends but can't you also see that you both are meant to be? I mean, she's so friendly and jovial. And she probably likes you too. Honestly, you both are just deceiving yourselves. There's no such thing as friendship between a young man and a young woman" Mrs. Omashola pressed on.
Femi was getting tired of hearing her talk about his friendship with Kunmi like that. Yes, he liked Kunmi once, but that was before. Then, Kunmi was in love with someone else and now he has forgotten about that feeling.
The fact that his mother was trying to rekindle something that had already died a long time ago, pissed him off a bit.
"Mom, I'm going to work now. We'll talk later, okay?" He said, trying to dismiss the topic.
"Okay oh, I was just airing my views" she replied and walked to the kitchen were she was busy supervising what was being prepared by the maids.
Femi grabbed his suitcase and left the house for work. He didn't bother having breakfast because he was already late for work and that was why he left in a hurry.
