Chapter 5
*EDITED*
Femi walked into his room in annoyance. He flung his wristwatch on his bed and also his iPhone. He didn't want to talk to anyone at the moment, because right now he was really angry. He felt betrayed, hurt and most importantly, he felt cheated. Not the all smiling and happy Femi that everybody knew and came to love. As of now, he was a furious and heartbroken young man, with numerous questions cooking up in his head - each, swirling in unending circles.
He had made up an excuse that day at Chioma's house, that he had to go visit a really sick friend and then his parents decided to let him go. When he finally managed to get to Jade's house, she was so adamant towards telling him what was going on that he barely even knew how to get her to talk to him. After his fruitless trails, he decided to head home instead, choosing to return the following day.
Finally, today he decided to pay her a visit and that was when she told him that she was actually getting married. She told him that that was exactly why she had asked him to come and see her the other day, she didn't mean to hurt his feelings but what has happened has happened - those were her exact words.
According to Jade, while he was away in America and she was still in Nigeria, her father began to disturb her about marriage. He decided to introduce her to his best friend's son and then they started seeing each other. Now, the real reason why Femi was so angry was because Jade finally dropped the bombshell by informing him that she was pregnant for the guy. She said it wasn't supposed to happen and that they were both drunk when it happened. How was he to believe that? Did seven months of being together mean absolutely nothing to her? What exactly did she take him for? A fool?
Femi, feeling really angry with Jade, walked out on her in anger. He wanted to grip her by her shoulders and ask her why she'd do this to him. Her answer was that he showed no sign of actually proposing to her or wanting to spend his life with her. That made her to consider her father's offer. After all, she didn't want to die single for the rest of her life. And plus, she wasn't getting any younger. At the age of twenty-seven, she was still single. And that wasn't good at all.
"Why the hell would you do this to me?! Why?!" Femi yelled in anger. He was angry at her right now, and had his regrets for ever falling so deeply in love with her.
He thought she'd wait for him. He was planning on actually proposing soon but didn't know when. But now, even if he wanted to, it was obviously too late since she was carrying the guy's baby in her womb. And that was also why he didn't act aggressively with her, he still had his self-respect in tact and didn't want to bring it down all because of a woman.
His phone buzzed on his bed, indicating that he had an incoming call. He groaned as he picked the phone up, only to see that it wasΒ Damola, his best friend - calling.
"Hello?" He replied nonchalantly, sitting on his bed.
"Guy, where are you?" Damola asked.
"At home" Femi replied dryly.
"Well, today is Friday. Let's hang out naw. I'm at Kilimanjaro restaurant with the guys. We're waiting for you" Damola informed and Femi ran his hand through his hair with a loud sigh.
"Damola, I'm not in the mood to have fun right now. I just lost my girlfriend to some jerk and right, now I don't think I'm in the state to have any fun" Femi informed.
"Jade broke up with you?" Damola asked, surprised.
"Yeah, she did. And she's apparently getting married in a few months from now, to a guy who she's currently pregnant for. Guy, I'm traumatized right now. I loved that girl so much that it hurts..." He said, sounding really solemn and hurt.
"Well, staying at home and sulking won't help you get better. At least come and chill a little. It will really help you get your mind off it" Damola said.
"Dude, maybe not" Femi replied.
"Abeg, what's your own na? Come joor, we are waiting" Damola said to him and Femi knew that there was no point in arguing with him. And besides, he was actually right. Him staying at home and sulking won't help matters. He needed to be with his guys.
"Okay, I'm coming" he finally said.
"Good, hurry up oh"
"Sure" and then he hung up.
Femi immediately got up from his bed and decided to have a shower. He finally got dressed in a blue hoodie and black sweatpants. He wore his black Gucci palm slippers and then his Rolex wrist watch. Then finally, he put on some body spray, and left his room.

"Guy, how far? Wetin dey oscillate?" Femi said as he sat down at the table where his friends were. He shook hands with all of them and then sat down with them.
["Guy, how far? What's up?"].
"We good," Damola replied. "Just don't worry about what that girl did to you. We've all gotten dumped at some point in our lives. Just know that when one door closes, another door opens. My guy, see babes everywhere. You're still young and vibrant...find another babe. It's just that easy" Damola said and all the other guys at the table hailed him, agreeing to his statement.
Femi didn't want to consider what he said because he wasn't the type of person that would just jump into a new relationship when he just ended an old one. He wanted to give himself a break and didn't want to take Damola's advice.
"Well, Damola, unlike you I'm not the kind of person that can get over breakups that easily." Femi replied.
"Femi, forget her. Look, enjoy your youthful age and don't be doing 'I still love her'. Be there forming Romeo," James, a tall and light skinned guy, said and everyone at the table laughed, including Femi. "The girl you are even dying for is probably enjoying her life right now and you're here deceiving yourself that you are in love. My friend move on with your life! She's in the past now" he added and took a sip out of his beer.
"I guess you're right sha" Femi said to him and everyone agreed.
"Of course I am" James said, feeling himself.
"Well, let me go and order something to eat" Femi said as he got up to order something to eat. He stood at the counter and ordered a plate of fried rice and salad with two turkey laps, a bottle of beer and a bottle of water. While he waited for his order, he heard a very familiar voice place an order. He needed no magician to tell him whose voice that was.
"A plate of Jollof rice with one turkey lap, and a bottle of Hollandia yoghurt please" she said and he turned to look at her. Finally their eyes met and he smiled at her.
"Hi," he smirked "We finally meet again" he added, still wearing the smirk on his face.
