THE BIRTH: PART TWO

Stella spent seventeen hours in labor. Cursing Stefan over and over again. Derek knew thanks to his vampire hearing, it was safe to say he found the elemental witch amusing during the time of birth. Both vampires were in and out of the room as she was waiting for the two boys to be born. Stella was sitting on the hospital bed, with an annoyed look on her face.

Stefan and Derek were watching her. They both found it amusing how she looked mad but she wasn't truly mad. She just wanted the babies to be born. Then, Derek told Stefan about Alicia and how mad she was when she heard Derek and Stella were "getting married". Stefan wasn't mad, in fact he laughed. He knew about Alicia and the heartbreak she caused Derek, who was now his best friend, and he could even say brother. While Stella waited for the babies to be ready, Stefan gave her the ring. He sat right beside her as Derek recorded everything in silence.

"I know this is not the best way to propose but this feels right. I've spent my entire life trying to come to terms with the fact that I'm a vampire. But, even when I told myself that I was always gonna be a vampire, I tried everything to be human. But with you, it's easy. I can be myself. And even if I'm not human, I feel like one. You've given a daughter already. Soon, our family will expand. It will no longer be made of four people, but six" when Stefan said six, Derek and Stella were confused. "You, Hope, Derek and me" he replied making her nod and smile. She was glad her best friend and boyfriend got along well. Derek was happy, he liked Stefan.

"With this ring I'm not only asking you to be my wife and to spend your life with me. I want to make you a promise" Stella nodded as she felt the tears forming in her eyes. "I promise to love you, protect you, and take care of you. Always. I promise to be faithful, to love and to cherish you. Always. And I promise to stand by you through the good and the bad. Always. And most of all, I promise to love you, until the end of my days and I will love you even after" Stella threw her arms around her now fiancée. "I love you, Stefan Salvatore. I loved you yesterday, I love you today, I love you tomorrow and I will love you until my heart stops beating, and maybe even after" he placed the ring on her wedding finger before they both kissed.

"I now pronounce you, husband and wife" the three of them heard someone say. A nurse stood by the door. He explained how he had a certificate to marry people.

An hour later, Derek brought someone from the court house to "legally" marry them. He wanted to make sure. Ro, Derek, Nick and the nurse were the witnesses. Now, Stella Carter was officially Stella Salvatore. When it was finally time for the birth, Stefan swore she broke his hand a few times. It was one of the rare times the vampire was glad he was a vampire. Stella gave birth to two healthy boys. Azriel Salvatore Carter and Rhysan Salvatore Carter. Stella was finally able to see her kids and she was happy.

"They're so beautiful, Ella" Stefan said as he grabbed Azriel and handed him to her. Stella Salvatore was crying her eyes out as she carried her son.

She loved Hope, she truly did. She would die for her. But, she didn't give birth to her. She didn't feel her baby kicks, her cravings at one am, but she loved the little girl with everything she had. As she carried Azriel she looked at Stefan who was carrying Rhysand.

Derek walked in with Hope. He sat her down between Stella and Stefan. She looked at her brothers and smiled. Stella looked around the room, there was Stefan, her now husband, her daughter and two sons, and her best friend, Derek. Stella Salvatore was happy and now, felt complete.

Stefan and Stella are officially married! I'm happy! They have expanded the family.
