THE TOWN

After the failed attempt of a reunion, Stefan, Stella and baby Hope decided to explore the town. It was a rare sight to see Stefan smiling and laughing. Sheriff Forbes spotted the green eyes Salvatore with a blonde girl and a baby. For a second, she believed he was gonna do something bad, but she remembered Caroline had called to catch her up with the gossip of Stefan's returned but not alone. She followed them, with a look to not make it obvious. Stefan carried Hope.

It surprised Elizabeth Forbes to see Stefan being so care free. If she didn't know Stefan, she could swear she would've believed they were a married couple with their daughter. He carried Hope in one arm and with his free hand he held Stella's as that walked through the town.

The people who remembered Stefan from school or simply the town saw him with Stella. Many believed it would always be Stefan and Elena. But, they were clearly wrong. Here he was with another woman, holding her hand, kissing her, hugging her, and with a baby they assumed was theirs. Sheriff Forbes took a few pictures, sending them to Caroline who was actually okay and happy for Stefan. She didn't really care about Stefan's personal life. She knew he deserved some happiness after the stunt Elena pulled by switching bothers. It was wrong and she knew it, Elena knew it, Damon knew it, everyone agreed it was a disrespectful thing to do, because Damon is Stefan's brother. Or was. She didn't know which.

SALVATORE HOME

Elena was worried Stefan was under some spell. Bonnie told her he wasn't. He was fine. Yet, Elena Gilbert could not understand the fact that Stefan had moved on from her. "My mom said Stella Carter has the cleanest record she has ever seen" Caroline said. "There's got to be something. She can't just be perfect" Elena said. Caroline knew she was jealous. She was fuming, Stefan threatened her. He had never done that. He had always been her protector. "Well, she is. She works at a hospital and she volunteers in her free time. She has a daughter, Hope who was born eight months ago. The father's name is a guy name Derek" she informed them. (Klaus had put all the paperwork together and put Derek, Stella's best friend as the father just in case). "Elena, let it go" Matt stated, getting annoyed by Elena's fit of jealousy. Everyone turned to the human. "Stefan is happy. So what? Let him be. Stefan was drowning all summer while you were doing what? Sleeping with his brother! So I think you have no right to be jealous of the life he has now. I knew you were selfish. I just didn't know how much" with that, Matt Donovan made his way out. Caroline following behind him.

THE PARK

Stefan felt better. Even though the reunion didn't go as planned, he said everything he needed to say. Now, he sat on the grass as he watched Stella pushed  Hope on the swing set. Stella looked at Hope with so much love.

He saw how much she loved their daughter. Stefan had been sad when he thought about having kids with her. He couldn't give her any children. Or so he thought. Stella was an elemental which. The last of her kind. She could control all the elements, which made her more special than any other. It allowed her to procreate with any supernatural being. Since she was the last one walking the earth, her ancestors wanted to make sure that no matter what, she could keep the line going. So, they decided to wait until Hope was at least one year old before having another baby. After another few minutes on the swings, Stella brought Hope back to where Stefan was sitting. They were having a little picnic when Caroline and Matt showed up.

"Hey guys" Caroline greeted them. "Caroline, Matt" Stefan replied. "We just wanted to say sorry for Elena's attitude" Matt spoke. Stella smiled. She knew they were being genuine about the apology. "It's alright. You have nothing to apologize for her" Stella replied. They were about to walk away a when Stella stopped them. "Hey, Matt, Caroline?" they both stopped. "Would you like to join us?" she asked with a smile. Caroline turned to Matt who smiled and nodded. "Sure!" the blonde replied excitedly. They sat down besides them as Stella handed them some food and drinks. Hope watched the human and vampire who made funny faces at her.

Hope laughed loudly, making her parents smile. "She's so cute! I want one" Caroline pouted making the other adults laugh. Both Matt and Caroline had to admit they had fun and Stella was actually kind and friendly. After a while, Stefan and Stella excused themselves, having to head to their hotel for the day. Caroline and Matt said their goodbyes. They saw Stefan pushed Hope in her stroller and Stella walking beside him with and arm wrapped round his. Stella Carter was truly perfect for Stefan Salvatore.

The last thing they saw, was Stefan kissing his girlfriend before they disappeared into the crowded streets. "I think they're soulmates" Caroline said. "I think so too" the blue eyed man replied before the two walked off the other direction. And soulmates they were.
