Epilogue for season 2 since the book is coming to an end!
8 days left.
"Ae-ri. You're worker's ally now. I'm gonna need you to visit the fifth affiliate for some things." Yoojin cleaned his glasses lens, making Ae-ri hold back a sneer.
She raised a brow. "Wait, fifth affiliate?" Yoojin nodded. "Perhaps you would see some familiar faces there..." Ae-ri stared at him, lowering her head with a nod.
" I see your arm hasn't recovered?" Ae-ri ignored her broken arm. "I'll be fine." Yoojin had an amused smirk at her sheer will.
"If you say so."
But that wasn't what Ae-ri expected. She stood beside Yoojin, a blank look on her face as she was under the intense gaze of many.
A guy with a white mask, a guy with a red, the familiar faces of a now matured Samuel, Warren and Eli. She huffed, turning away slightly as Yoojin introduced her as a new ally.
"This is the workers new ally... Ae-ri Jeong." Yoojin spoke with a satisfied smile. "She will help us out with currently anything for money." Ae-ri scowled, scrunching her nose slightly at his terrible introduction for her.
She had her eyes pinned on the guy in a daruma (red) mask. She found it stupid, but didn't say anything, hearing Yoojin clear his throat. "Let me introduce our new ally."
"Previously, she wasn't very fond of the workers, working with Charles Choi... But she's going against them because of her beliefs. Do welcome her."
Ae-ri pursed her lips and kept her gaze awkwardly on the floor, cheeks flushing slightly at how terrible Yoojin introduced her. She inhaled sharply, hearing the man in a white mask speak in Japanese, pausing as Samuel got up.
"Big Deal? Sure." Samuel approached Eli. "I respect your decision, chairman. Having that said, there's something that needs to be addressed first." Yoojin's bodyguard who wore a cap looked ready to stop the commotion before Yoojin blocked him.
Samuel rubbed his nape, glaring down at Eli. "Why is this guy the president of the fifth affiliate?" Eli glared back. Ae-ri scratched the back of her head, glancing to see what Yoojin would do but only getting surprised by Eli's retort as he buttoned up Samuel's shirt.
" That's enough." A loud clap was heard, Mandeok looking stern. "You are in the chairman's presence, I will not tolerate any more disrespect." Mandeok spoke, Yoojin turning to Ae-ri.
Yoojin gave her a small smile. "For now, just aid the president while he starts up the business." Ae-ri didn't return his gesture.
"You... Better be sure to give me the 1 billion won." Yoojin chuckled with a nod.
She went around with Eli, Warren and Samuel, fighting and having Samuel drive them around. Aside from that, her days were boring as she would return to work for Charles in the morning.
Two days passed, news spreading of Eli and Samuel defeating a first-generation king, then of Eli and Warren defeating the king of Pyeongtaek while Ae-ri continued to discuss multiple things with Yoojin or attend meetings.
Soon, the hunt for Big Deal drew closer. It wasn't going to be much actually, aside from the fact that Charles misconducts would come to light along with the betrayal of Ae-ri.
The final meeting.
"Ae-ri. The hunt for Big Deal is coming soon. I hope you know what it means." Ae-ri lowered her head. "Have you... Done what I asked for?" Yoojin had a bittersweet smile.
To use others so he didn't lose. "Yes. Minseong can get treatment... And live happily for the next ten years." Ae-ri pursed her lips with a nod. "Alright."
She stood from her seat, the last chat she had with Yoojin. The hunt for Big Deal isn't her fight. It's what comes after. Things were wrapping up.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! π
