34 | Breaking Point

][ Previously: Though Mob managed to save his brother, he accidentally killed the HPSC leader and several others, landing him in the deepest depths of Tartarus. ][

You already know my story. The awkward green haired kid who grew up quirkless; whose only friend turned into his childhood bully.

In that case, you already know how much of a big deal this new quirk of mine is! And how amazing it was to receive it from none other than All Might himself!! Yeah, it's taken me a while to get used to, but it is my one and only chance to become a hero someday! So I'm willing to give it all I've got!!!

The thing that's really been bothering me lately is not involving my quirk for once, but rather someone else's!

I just can't help but compare myself to Mob. Both him and I aren't the best at socializing, we both have a little trouble sometimes in areas such as math and such, and we both have inspiring mentors we look up to!

Except... While I was born with no power, Mob was born with, well, almost all of it! His quirk is AMAZING! I've already written pages upon PAGES worth of all the different ways he could use them to save people!

So then.. why doesn't he want to be a hero?

And why does he hate the powers he was born with so much?

Well... Over these past couple weeks.. I finally understood why.

...Maybe there really was such a thing as "too much of a good thing..?"

----------

This was it. He had finally reached his breaking point.

In his second week there, the boy paced. He paced and he paced and he paced. Fearing the teen was plotting something, a new straight jacket had been equipped.

Something was definitely wrong. The color had completely drained from Shigeo's hair in the last few days, leaving behind only a bright white. And his eye color never returned to their dark, charcoal gray.

Mob was gone...and that emptiness where his personality once stood was now but a void, consuming and consuming and consuming and consuming!

It was so subtle at first that no one even realized it. But the life energy drifting around the air began to stream into the child, slowly building and building until the effect of Shigeo's chains begen to weaken.

He was surpassing his limits. Ney, he was surpassing all limits! What point would his accursed powers have if not to do that?!

For hours, he'd been pacing back and forth in his room. He was on his tenth, skipping meals to relentlessly feed this obsession of his. The guards were beginning to get a little worried.

Then, something began to click. Oh why oh why oh why did they seal the boy who could draw energy from other people's quirks in a place filled with some of the most powerful ones?!? But surely this ability wouldn't grow to be a danger, right?!

     ...Right..?

He had to move. He couldn't stop. Though his body was tired, he pressed on relentlessly. He required to go somewhere, or perhaps meet someone. Problem was, he knew not what he sought nor where that may be.

But it wasn't here... That was for sure!

-----

"Um... Sir..? I think I may have spotted a new anomaly." A young man, one of many, in a room full of computers pointed at his screen full of graphs. His boss stomped that way, huffing loudly.

"Hhhh... Which prisoner is it this time..?" Sipping his coffee tiredly.

"It's, um, Kageyama, sir. We believe the suppressors are no longer affecting him.."

"PFFFF!" He spat out the mouthful, head swinging around to glare over the younger's shoulder. "What makes you think THAT?"

The young man was shivering slightly, pointing to a new window he pulled up showing Mob's cell via security feed.

"He's, um...not wearing them..?"

-----

Indeed, the quirk suppressing clamps around his ankles had worn off, so overwhelmed by the raw power attacking them that they literally cracked and fell away!

Yet, the boy remained in his cell a while longer.

He still needed some kind of goal. Yes, he wanted freedom, but to where would he go?!

Then, it suddenly snapped into place. All of it!

He needed to return home. Not only that, but he needed to find Tsubomi! Not only was she a good friend who never judged or treated him differently for using his powers, but she was the one person he could think of who he never wound up hurting with his powers!

There. It was decided. There would be his safe haven, and she was to be the dearest friend he ran to for help!

If she was willing to look him in the eyes as he was, remove his straight jacket for him, and tell him to his face that it was all going to be okay...

     ...He would believe it.

He would believe it without a shadow of a doubt! Because at the end of the day, all he wanted to know was that everything was going to be alright; that he wasn't a curse upon this world.

And he'd decided then and there that Tsubomi was the only one who could assure him of that.

The only person in this world he could really trust.

CRACK!!!

Cracks sprang throughout the walls, ceiling, and floor from where Shigeo stood. A swirling wind built around him, the prison lights flickering off in a hurry. Clouds of swirling white wrapped around his form, hiding the boy's face from the rest of the world. Only the glow of his red eyes remained.

The whole base was sent into a panic.

But Shigeo's show of power was grander than it had EVER been.

Remember when Mob threw buildings around like they were nothing?

Remember when he built an island in one night?

Now imagine all of that force being concentrated in one singular attack: Shigeo Kageyama's greatest escape yet.

DU-DU-DU-DU-BAAANNNGGG!!!

A massive beam of light and energy shot diagonally through the prison, destroying hundreds of cells in its wake!

Walls were shattered, debris scattered. The force of an entire ocean bore down on the whole structure, only held back by Shigeo's power.

He scaled the rubble slowly, his bright hair flapping like a fire above his head! His arms were still restrained, but each step of his was sturdy, shaking the ground, certain not to allow a stumble.

Surviving criminals crawled out of the wreckage, the wicked seizing this great moment as their chance to escape. Hundreds crawled up the very same ramp of rubble Shigeo marched, terror stricken and motivated by the rough walls of water that threatened to drown them all in a matter of seconds!

By the time Shigeo had reached the surface, the other criminals were already facing off against the many guards who tried to stop them. The criminals' saving grace came in the form of a small Nomu army, which dropped down on the prison site in its moment of weakness. Loud alarms alerted to all who could hear the imminent danger they were in.

Shigeo simply walked, the fights taking place around him as all made an effort to ignore the stormy wind and intense aura the teen produced.

The criminals' one big problem was the lack of an escape, for the massive road bridge had drowned itself already.

This was no problem for Shigeo... He merely took a step over the massive drop, walking on the air that parted him from his oh so precious freedom.

     He was back.

----------

A little after Shigeo, All For One emerged from the pit of madness, carrying the necessary devices to keep himself alive with a big grin stretched across his face.

My, what a fine picking of quirks he had here~ Like a buffet all to himself~

He probably shouldn't indulge himself right now, however.. Instead, the S-ranked villain struck up deals to have his Nomu help others across if they worked for him in return. He was able to assemble many followers that way. All of them for now gathering around the impressively tall villain's feet, fighting off the guards so that the main villain himself didn't even have to stretch a finger.

It was inevitable, however, for him to eventually run into a strong opposing force.

Suzuki, the S-rank villain Mob defeated several months ago, was standing his ground rather well against the sea of villains. He was the only one to take the opposing side, fighting to keep as many villains contained as possible. For not only did his divorced wife live in the city not far from here, but helping contain this mess might just knock a few years off his sentence as well.

He fought the villains off fairly easily. For though he was astronomically weaker than he used to be, he had managed to steal enough energy today to make up about five percent of what he used to have, which was plenty enough for him.

"Suzuki..." All For One approached the opposing villain with a smile, arms stretched out in a friendly gesture at his sides. "One of the few who could rival me at my best using raw power alone." For the most part, Suzuki ignored him. Though knowing what his quirk was, the brunette hung back at a safe distance even as one of the villains he fought ran to AFO for protection. He kept his eyes on the other S-ranked villain for now. "My, what a fine quirk you have as well. Able to steal the energy stored within someone's quirk. I'd go as far to say it's almost as perfect as mine." One of his Nomu full-sprint charged the opposing villain, easily earning it a brutal death: Suzuki creating a psychic barrier within its stomach and expanding it so rapidly that the whole creature exploded. AFO cringed at the explosion of guts and blood. Suzuki then turned his head to the other villain with the blankets of stares, somehow mocking AFO with it. The Nomu eventually regenerated, of course. For its head had still been left in tact. "I will admit, I have been jealous of your abilities for a while now.. but I have restrained myself from stealing it all these years; hoping you would prove useful to me on your own." All of the villains, both followers of All For One and not, surrounded Suzuki. As did the great villain's army of Nomu. The surrounded clenched his jaw, knowing he couldn't wish to take them all on at once and survive. "You failed, however." AFO's grin dropped. "And I no longer have need for your life nor your quirk... I've got my eyes set on something much brighter~ ... It was fun while it lasted -- this little rivalry of ours. But all good things must come to an end..." All For One stretched out his hand, about to engage in a fight himself.. when a certain blind man suddenly appeared.

"Behind me!!" Ryo stood protectively in front of Suzuki, glaring down the tall S-rank villain he faced.

AFO smiled again. "Shimazaki~! My, what a helpful replacement you have been to my student in his moment of absence. I really do appreciate the help, but I'll take it from here.."

Ryo didn't even need his quirk to know where this was going. He grabbed his boss by the arm and the two of them immediately vanished, ending the whole ordeal rather anti climatically.

The two reappeared in the treeline not far from the ocean and the prison just off the coast. Ryo exhaled a big sigh of relief. There were a lot of really intense auras in there!

Without so much as a word of acknowledgement, Suzuki began to walk away, back toward the prison. "Hey, wait!! Where are you going!?"

"I'm not just going to run away from my problems. I refuse to let these villains enter my past wife's hometown... I have already decided to either take them all or die trying."

"You're kidding me!" The distraught Ryo trotted after his old boss, preparing himself to fight Suzuki if he had to. "You're not going back in there!!"

Sensing the younger man wasn't going to give up, Suzuki stopped walking, peering over his shoulder at his only supporter just this once. "Ryo.. I know that deep down you must view me as some kind of a surrogate father figure to you. I ask that you remove that view of me from your head entirely. .. Because I never really did care about you. Your purchase was out of necessity for my plans of world domination; I had no intention to raise you as any more than that. ... That being said...I thank you for rescuing me back there. I will fight with more caution if it makes you feel any better." Ryo didn't know how to respond to that. He genuinely didn't know how he even felt about what his old boss had said!

"I... Sure.. Good luck." The two nodded at each other, parting ways right there. .. The younger man had too much on his mind now. May as well nip a little trouble in the bud in the meantime.

That Shigeo kid was moving fast! Helped that he was walking in a perfectly straight line, not caring about anything that might get in his way.

""The mysterious storm first spotted over Tartarus this morning has been steadily heading South-West."" The UA kids lounged around, sharing snacks and lunches they'd made. It was a Saturday, so there was no school. But, because of this mysterious storm, they weren't allowed to visit family either. ""This is no normal hurricane, however. All electronic devices have been completely fried the moment it sweeps over their location, cutting off communication everywhere. Entire cities have gone dark. On top of that, survivors of the storm claim their quirks aren't quite as strong as before. Even local heroes say they felt the storm itself sucking the energy out of them."" Dang, this reporter was good at his job. ""Surviving witnesses claim at the eye of the storm is a humanlike figure, completely white and bound in a straight jacket. They claim it is no bigger than a middle schooler either, which has led many professionals to believe the cause of this is none other than Shigeo Kageyama--"" Izuku dropped his plate of food. His arms trembled. A couple glanced his way, but most had their eyes fixed on the screen as well.

He'd felt really bad for his friend ever since he was taken away. So bad he could hardly bear it!.. But this was too much.

Izuku knew that at his core, Mob was a good person. He had to find a way to SAVE that good in him; to help him control his powers!

One way or another, he NEEDED to help him. Just by looking at him, the other classmates knew what Izuku was thinking.

"We're going with you." Ochako spoke firmly, standing by the greenette's side. Though some argued, either saying it was too dangerous or that Mob was too far gone, in the end everyone decided to join him. Even Aizawa agreed it was worth a shot.

""The storm appears to be heading in a straight path. Everyone within range should evacuate immediately.""

----------

A golden line of energy zipped through the trees, rapidly approaching the eye of the storm itself. A storm which had only grown more and more powerful with every passing town it demolished! Every quirk and every spirit. Neither were safe from being completely and utterly eaten up.

The golden light dissipated, leaving behind a blond boy in stylish coats and a scarf.

"I was afraid of this..." Teru murmured. He could feel his power being drained already. But he stood firm as the only thing between the approaching Mob and the city right behind him.

Guess this was it then... It was either he fight, or he lose his best friend and his new home forever.

"KAGEYAMA!" Teruki shouted over the howling wind, a bright smile crossing his face. "IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN!" The boy laughed. It truly was. Even if it was at the worst possible time, it was still good seeing his friend in one piece.

     Shigeo stared straight through Teru.

What he once called friends were now only burdens at his feet; mere shackles weighing him down.

He didn't need them anymore. In fact, he didn't need anybody. Just like nobody needed him.

It was Mob all these people knew and liked, after all. No one really cared to know the true Shigeo. The one who was always shoved away, imprisoned in his own body. Suffering under the immense weight and guilt of his own power. But now that he was free.. he had nothing left to care about. No people anyway. Yes, he was headed toward Tsubomi currently, but by this point she was merely a picture of absolute virtue to him; a symbol of everything he wished he was worth.

Because, at the end of the day, he was nothing but a tool to the world. A tool to everybody he ever met. A tool even to Mob. Because of that, he had no reason to trust, care, or respect anyone.

He was done letting the world step all over him. He was done watching Mob being naively taken advantage of again and again.

He was done with just about everything.

"A-ALRIGHT! NOT INTERESTED IN TALKING, I SEE?!" Teru unraveled the scarf from around his neck. Infusing the dark green threads with his psychic energy, Teru reeled the object back, now useful to him as a capture weapon. "WE'LL TALK ONCE YOU'RE FEELING BETTER!" Teru jumped into the very heart of the storm. He threw the glowing gold rope out, it wrapping around Shigeo's legs so that he was completely bound. Standing closer now, Teru no longer had to shout. His big, wide eyes helped convey a joyous yet nervous smile. "He-hey, Shigeo.. Yo-you need to calm down a little, alright? Here, let me help you get that off." Teru reached out for the binding jacket, but as his hand grew closer to Mob's trapped arms and chest, the boy's barrier increased tenfold, burning Teruki's hand. "WH-WHAT?!"

BOOM!

Teru was flung away by a direct explosion in his face. He crashed against a gray skyscraper and slid down its glass until he landed harshly on the ground. The blond groaned, pushing himself up slowly. ... This wasn't good. Why was Mob refusing his help? Meanwhile, Teruki's scarf disintegrated around Shigeo's ankles, allowing him to start walking into the city once more. Teru gritted his teeth and growled. "FINE THEN! YOU LEAVE ME NO CHOICE BUT TO BRING YOU DOWN!" He sprang toward Shigeo, a trail of dust left behind in his swift strike. "RRHHAAAAAA!!!"

-----

You could see the storm from UA. And quite the storm it was too. Massive, dark gray clouds rolling over the sky, growing steadily darker and darker the closer they were to it's very center.

Though not headed directly for UA, the storm was now scarily close, estimated to scrape right past the campus. It was crazy how many heroes were thrown at this storm in an attempt to stop it. But they all either had to give up halfway there or lose their quirks for good. And, of course.. Who would be expected to save people if there were no more heroes? No more powerful entities willing and able to help! Some quit for selfish reasons, and others quit for understandable ones.

If there was no stopping this thing, then at the very least, the heroes had to evacuate as many towns, cities, and villages as possible. Which is where all of their resources ended up going.

Class 1A was one of many groups ordered to help evacuate. Helping Mob would have to come a little later.

     But...there wasn't much time.

The data being collected proved that the storm was only growing stronger with time. Not weaker like many had hoped. And as word of this disastrous event spread across the country, speculation formed into an almost-fact.

-----

The world feared HE was the Eclipse; the end of an era. The end of power. ALL power. Not just good or bad. Not just right or wrong. But an unbiased reset to the way things used to be. Before quirks were ever a thing!

     It made sense, after all...

     All things have their end..eventually.

'I've always wanted my powers -- my life -- to mean something... Even if that something is the end of an era foretold by prophecy...so be it.'

Shigeo didn't mind this theory one bit... He rather enjoyed it, even.

At least, now.. his powers had purpose.

Teru's back was smashed into a wall. He lost his breath, unable to scream in pain. The burning aura of Shigeo easily tore through his brittle barrier, frying his skin and boiling the blood underneath it! Shigeo now held Teru by the throat against the unrelenting concrete wall, using nothing but the raw force of his power. The unclear shapes of his red eyes bore into the teen he held in place. Teruki fought for every bit of power he had, but so close to this black hole of energy, all of it, everything he had, was gushing out of him like blood from a slit artery.

     "Kage--ama..."

"Go ahead. Do it... Use your psychic powers.~" Shigeo taunted. It was the voice of his friend. But, it sounded, also...so alien as well. Teru's eyes filled with tears as he stared down the very same boy he loved so.. The bestest of friends. The sweetest, most loving person he ever met! Teru's lips quivered, his vision growing dim.

"Teh... As always... You never cease to amaze me.." Shigeo tilted his head slightly. "But..." The blond lifted a near limp fist. He reeled it back, and struck Shigeo in the face! It didn't so much as make the boy flinch. Again and again, Teru weakly struck out at him, each punch thrown having to fight a mountain of pressure just to reach the unclear form. "I'm.. using my power for...something else!" No power was behind his blows. None at all. Teru's sleeves tore apart, his coats already in shambles. Little but his shirt and pants remained of his clothing under this extreme pressure. Teru's eyes were bloodshot, literally crying tears of blood from them! "Something...MUCH more important than fighting!!" Severe burns bore into his skin, the thin barrier around his body flickering in and out of existence.

Shigeo's ears twitched at the sound of rubble shifting around them. His head turned slightly. All around, spheres of gold crawled their way out of the rubble, the blurred shapes of civilians huddled inside of each one. Shigeo's eyes widened a smidge. You telling me Teru was keeping watch over everyone as they fought!?

"I'm using...what's left of my power....to SAVE people!!!" Teru's mouth cracked into a wide smile, watching with bloody tears in his eyes as the multitude floated into the sky, where they would gently land and release the people trapped inside once at a safe distance. "Because whether I have them or not! I will always be...YOUR RIVAL!!"

Teruki laughed. He coughed. He choked.

     He fainted.

. . .

Shigeo relented, allowing Teru to drop to the ground below. He stared at this fallen friend of his a little while longer.

     He wondered why.

Why even go through all that effort in the first place? .. What did Teru really want? And how could he continue to believe that the blond only hung around to mooch off of his power...

...if he just lost all of his trying to stop him? Or...perhaps to even help him..?

The very base of Shigeo's hair grew an ounce of dark to them. Flakes of black joined in with the misty white. Such a pure looking little flame he was. Now dirtied by the specks of ash.

Shigeo left the other alone, marching down the same path he intended, melting through any buildings that got in his path.

Teru's abilities, though not connected to a prophecy or some other grand, righteous goal, was still able to serve a purpose.

A purpose he had deemed far greater than destruction...

...If only HE could live with such certainty that his powers were being used to their fullest potential. Such so that he would one day be able to live, knowing that the world would never forget him...

That one day he would die, leaving the world a different place than when he arrived.

That was what he wanted. To be seen. To be more than just another face in the crowd. The opposite of what he created Mob to be.

----------

All For One's jaw relaxed as he landed on the rocky soil of real earth. The waves crashed behind him against harsh rocks, the remainder of that prison falling into even worse dishevelment by the hungry ocean waves. He sighed in relief. Inhaling through his mouth for the first time...his first breath of freedom in over three months. He could taste the salt on his tongue.

In the distance was a rumbling, signaling to the supervillain where the now greatly weakened Suzuki still fought off his dozens of Nomu. In the forest among the trees, the villain was drenched in Nomu blood, quite a bit of his own joining the mix. These were AFO's strongest Nomu as well, a horrifying mix of man and monster, mostly monster.

Why... AFO enjoyed watching his rival fight so desperately for his own life from afar. His smile inched higher along his cheek with every gash and wound the businessman gained.

However, enough was enough after a time. The villain extended his hand, producing from it mixed sound waves to communicate with the creatures.

' "Leave him. Continue on to the other targets I have assigned you." '

The Nomu left Suzuki. Though the Esper heard a faint ringing in his ear, it would take him some time to put together what had happened and why such was the case.

He wasn't going to stand around and let their leader catch up to him. He was already dangerously frail!

     Suzuki picked himself up...and ran.

"Kurogiri.." AFO murmured to the intelligent Nomu standing at his side. "Follow Suzuki for me, will you?... From a distance."

The Nomu, who was further out of the loop than his master, twisted his dark, misty head to the tall villain quickly. "What of Tomura Shigaraki?"

"Relax.~ My student is busy running an errand at the moment." The villain clicked his tongue. "Losing his quirk has perhaps been our biggest, most successful wild card yet. Though unplanned, it has proven to be an excellent decoy... For, now, while everyone's attention has been turned onto Shimizaki, the real threat they should be fearing has been training harder than ever before, and with a little help, has finally hatched into the true 'Symbol of Chaos'." Smirking, the villain's hands rose at his sides dramatically.

"In fact, he should be there right now... Though, I told him to remain extra cautious not to get discovered, as ruining the surprise so early on would be a bit of a let-down, now wouldn't it~?"

----------

"Hey, Eri! Want a fruity popsicle?!" Mirio passed the girl's room on the way to the kitchen. The girl tore her eyes away from her art and smiled at the teen.

"Yeah!" She chimed, melting the blond's heart with that smile of hers.

"Alright then!" He goofily marched out of the doorway, making the little girl giggle as he left.

He turned down the hall into the kitchen and opened the top fridge compartment to reveal the freezer. He hummed a happy tune, a wide smile across his face.

Yeah, things were looking a little hectic today with that storm and all, but he was sure that the other heroes would take good care of it. For now, he was in charge of Eri while everyone else was away.

"Hey." The monotone voice of a girl his age tickled his ear. Mirio spun around, eyes widening at the sight of a brunette with half her head completely shaven, revealing a massive gash in her left ear.

"Woah!" He stumbled back. He didn't recognize this person, so they had to be a--

Snap!

The blond dropped to the ground, so rudely leaving the freezer door open. The teen rolled her eyes, walked across the room, and kicked at his bare foot.

What a let down... She was hoping for an actual fight this time..

"What is this one's quirk?" The girl's chin turned over her shoulder. Tomura appeared around the corner, dressed in a tight black outfit, wearing dark leathery boots, and topped off with a large black trench coat. In fact, the only thing that wasn't black of his, other than his skin, was his bright white hair. By the looks of it, he'd gained a lot more muscle since the last time we saw him. Especially his thighs; d###!

The villain in hiding shoved past the two, not interested in the slightest.

"Phasing. He can go through walls and stuff."

     "Oo... Can I have that?"

"Not unless you want your clothes to fall off every time you use it.." Stepping over Mirio's fallen body, Tomura left the girl behind, who for half a second actually considered this possibility...before deciding against it in the end. That would be a bit too informal. And no one would be able to look her in the eyes that way.

"Mirio..?" The little Eri stuck her head out of her bedroom door shyly, gasping when, just down the hall, Tomura made his appearance. As the two's red eyes met, both froze for a moment.

"Hello, little girl~" Tomura made the first move, a wide, unnatural/disturbing grin stretching across his face as he took a cautious step forward. Eri trembled, sliding a few inches further behind the door so only one eye was peeking through. "Don't worry~ ...I won't hurt you.....as long as you give me what I want~"

He definitely wasn't a "good with kids" kind of guy.

"Go-- go away!!" Eri cried. Tomura continued to creep forward, albeit very slowly.

"I heard you had the ability to return someone's missing quirk... Is that right~?" The girl shook her head vigorously. "Oooh, don't be shy... I just want what was stolen from me."

"Please, mister.. You have the wrong house..." The girl was in tears, begging with her eyes for this man to go away and leave her and Mirio alone.

"Don't want to give it up?~ Fine then! I'll take it for myself!" He had enough of trying to talk to her. Tomura chased after the girl. She screamed, shutting and locking the door behind her, but this man in all his upgrades easily blasted it open with a flick of his finger. Teh.. He always wanted to try that...

Eri had fallen on the floor, eyes filled with fresh tears, sobbing. Tomura grabbed her scalp, his hand starting to glow. Though she hit, cried, and squirmed, the villain didn't let go until every drop of that pale blue colored energy of her quirk was within himself. The man laughed as he dropped her, so close again to feeling that old rush he once had before! The incredible sensation that came with getting to destroy everything he touched!

"Hahahaha! The rot of society has spread so exponentially, all I'll need to do is crack open the shell! The rest is sure to crumble in an instant!"

Snap!

The other villain stood in the doorway, crossing her arms after knocking out the man's captive audience.

"You promised me a quirk." Her silver eyes narrowed.

"Psh!" Waving her off. She slid to the side of the doorframe just enough for him to pass back through the bedroom door. "Go talk to Garaki about that. I'm sure he'll be able to whip you something up that your pathetic body can handle." The woman's frown deepened a little, but it wasn't because of the insult. She just hated not getting what she wanted.

"Want me to take care of the girl? She did see your face, after all."

Tomura froze mid step, hesitant to answer either yes or no. While he was still an S-ranked villain.. his destructive compulsions had greatly decreased after losing his quirk. It was something he had quickly grown self conscious about, now being a tad bit more of a "wimp" than before.

While he did want to take down society...his goals in the past few months had shifted just a little. He still held the same distain and hatred toward all that had turned him into the person he was. But now, he was just...uninterested in the rest. Destroying it ALL just sounded a little unnecessary to him now. How about he just destroy what is already rotten? That sounded both fairer AND easier in the long run! And he was definitely up for taking the easier route -- at least for a little bit -- after he had spent the past months fighting an untamed giant and essentially getting tortured for power!

"...Eh. Let's just put everything back where it was and make it look like we were never here. .. Maybe they'll think it was only a dream." The man offered. Come to think of it.. now that his quirk was gone, his face had been allowed to heal a little as well. Though still a little wrinkly, it had clearly recovered somewhat from the terrifyingly dry and crusty appearance he had before.

The girl rolled her eyes, reluctantly following his orders. She tucked the girl into her bed and cleaning up the mess the man made with the door. Tomura plopped Mirio back onto the couch and cleaned up a little as well. They finished by closing the freezer door.

"..You still owe me a quirk."

"Alright, alright, relax.. Just pick out the one you want and I'll give it to you... Garaki!" On his signal, the two vomited a grey ooze that enveloped their whole bodies, transporting them to a new location entirely.

The underground. There, master and student finally met after so long of being apart.

"My, you have grown strong." Placing his hand on Tomura's shoulder, the elder smiled proudly. It was so terribly dark. Only the purple light of the Nomu test tubes lit the dark space. The brunette slipped away after reminding Tomura of his promise one last time. "Now, I trust you have been successful in retrieving the quirk?"

Tomura copied his master's grin. "That I have~ Here." All For One and Tomura shook their hands together, both transferring the quirk from student to master. AFO marveled after he drew his large hand away.

"I am impressed beyond measure that you were able to obtain this so easily... No doubt the both of us will benefit from this quirk greatly... But, first, I will need time to experiment with it."

"Ugh... How long until I get my original quirk back??" Tomura stomped.

"Patience... Though you have grown a lot, there is still much to improve upon... On the topic of your quirk, I am afraid that procedure will be far more complicated than simply waving my hands around~ We don't want to undo all that torture you endured, after all. ...But trust that in time, you will have it back. Then, you will be the most powerful man alive!"

Tomura smiled. He liked that sound of that, specifically the last part about him becoming a god.

     Wait, no?

That was just him reading between the lines?

     ...ok.

.

=============
Alright so FIRST what they have to do to get Tomura's quirk back is:
1. Rewind Tomura's body back a few months, undoing all that training and stuff.
2. AFO has to then steal Tomura's destruction quirk.
3. Rewind it AGAIN, in the OTHER way, to redo all that training n' stuff.
4. AFO gives Tomura back his original quirk.
There! Pretty simple, but it will take AFO a lot of practice on his end to ensure he doesn't accidentally harm his own student.
