She heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps approaching her, the rhythmic crunching accompanied by the rustle of grass that made her heart race. Panic surged through her veins as she felt a rough hand gripping her hair, pulling her up from the ground in a jarring motion. The world spun slightly as she was forced to face them, their eyes assessing her with a mix of curiosity and malicious intent. The bright light of the day felt unbearably harsh against her skin, but she held her ground, refusing to show weakness.

"Ha! She's alive for real..." one of the men chuckled, an unsettling gleam in his eyes, as if her existence was an unexpected novelty.

"What should we do? Should we kill her?" Another voice chimed in.

"I mean, the chief did order us to," the first man replied, his tone almost dismissive, "but she's a female. It's like finding a crystal in the sand and then throwing it back into the water. Why would you waste something so rare?"

Their nonsensical discussions fell on her ears like distant chatter, frustratingly irrelevant to her. If it weren't for the peculiar strength of her new body―yes, new bodyshe would have hurled them away as effortlessly as confetti tossed into the wind. How dare they treat her this way? The anger simmered within her, a molten core of indignation. All she could think about was how she wanted to wipe that smug grin off the face of the man who had so rudely yanked her up by her hair and make him regret every single moment of this twisted encounter.

But alas, she was not in a position to act, bound by the very circumstances that brought her here.

As they continued to bicker among themselves, their words painted a picture of a world far removed from her own. The conversations danced around themes of shifters, beastmen and powers, none of which she could fully grasp yet. Was this some sort of fantastical nightmare? No, she wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet; she had always prided herself on her ability to analyze and adapt. ( ??? )

"Well, let's just take her to the hide out first,  we can deal with her there okay ? ," one of the men suggested, as if her fate were nothing more than a casual decision to be made over lunch.

And before she could even begin to process the bewildering whirlwind of events unfolding around her, she suddenly felt a sharp jolt as something collided with the back of her already throbbing head. In an instant, she plummeted into an all-consuming embrace of darkness, muttering sarcastic curses under her breath for whatever absurd sorcery had decided to take center stage in her life at that moment.

Typical , right ?
