XiShi found herself trapped in an absurd reality that she never asked to be a part of, and the irony of it all was not lost on her. She had clung to the belief that her life had ended that fateful day when a truck barreled into her, leaving behind a twisted wreckage of metal and dreams. She could almost hear the crunch of the impact echoing in her mind. What a way to go! She had hoped that the driver―the one who had carelessly robbed her of her existence―would meet a fate far worse than her own. Maybe he'd find himself in an eternal loop of bad decisions, perpetually crashing into walls of regret. That seemed fair, right?

At this moment, she found herself longing for the simplicity of her old life. At least back then, her biggest concerns revolved around the mundane: the morning grind of waking up, begrudgingly heading to work, and cursing the universe under her breath―though, in retrospect, she regretted that constant bitterness. The routine was predictable, almost comforting. She'd come home and devour food like a ravenous beast, but now, that comfort felt like a distant memory. Panic gripped her. What's the first thought that crosses anyone's mind when caught in a dire situation? Escape. Flee. Don't let them catch you!

Then, as if reality itself was spiraling out of control, she felt a strange sensation of constriction, as though she was shrinking into herself. Her clothes, once fitting snugly, now lay around her like discarded rags. Glancing down, her eyes widened in disbelief―she had four legs! Panic surged through her again, an overwhelming tide, until memories began to flood her mind. It dawned on her that there was nothing inherently wrong; she could transform into a beast form! Perhaps it was primal instinct, or maybe the adrenaline coursing through her veins , pushing her to survive , but whatever it was, it worked in her favor. She needed to seize this opportunity.

It was midnight, and the moon bathed everything in an ethereal glow as she prepared to leap from the small, precarious window like opening. How was she supposed to make that jump? It was far too high, even in her human form, and her injuries didn't exactly inspire confidence. But then again, maybe that was why they had kept her here............ luckily her restraints had loosened with her transformation. The last thing she wanted was to become a breeding vessel for those monsters, the very creatures , that slaughtered the body's tribe , her parents even . The memories were fresh and chilling.

After three desperate attempts, she finally leaped towards the opening, propelled by sheer adrenaline. The moment was exhilarating. But just as she felt the rush of freedom, one of her captors barged into the cave......

Great, just what she needed―more motivation to run faster.
