~Lucky~
I chilled lazily on the sofa behind where Michael and Calum sat on the floor.
Two o'clock would be rolling around soon. That's when school ended. I needed to let Damian know I was grounded at some point soon, but I figured I would wait until he could get on his phone without getting in trouble.
Calum leaned his head back, looking up at me. "Do we wanna watch a movie?" he asked, directing the question to Michael and I.
We both shrugged.
Calum looked forward and slowly stood up, moving to the movie case that was next to the T.V. "So what are we feeling? Romance, Comedy, Horror..." he listed.
I thought for a moment. "Something sad or scary."
Calum raised an eyebrow. "Sad or Scary?"
I nodded.
He looked down at the movies, dragging his fingers down the bindings of them slowly before he found what he was looking for. He stopped, flicking his finger at the top of the case and popping it out. Calum turned back to us and held it up.
"Piranha?" he reckoned.
I shrugged. "Sure. Haven't seen it."
"I don't remember it being that scary," he told me.
Michael snorted. "Lucky will get scared by anything."
I rolled my eyes as Calum nudged Michael. The two of them moved to sit on the couch next to me. After a bit of persuading, I told them I had to be in between them in case I got scared. I also was really cold and was too shy to ask for a blanket, so body heat was necessary.
About fifteen minutes into the movie, my phone started ringing. It was Damian. Calum peered over my shoulder before sending an odd glance, and turned his focus back to the movie. I slid out from between the boys, and snuck into the kitchen.
"Hello?" I asked quietly.
"Hey Lucky," Damian seethed from the other end. "Just wanted to check in. Where are you?"
I swallowed. "I'm with my brother."
I heard Damian's tongue click against the roof of his mouth. "Why didn't you tell me you were leaving?"
"I got in trouble," I muttered. "I had to leave early, and you were in class."
I heard a low grunt from Damian, showing disapproval.
"Dame, come over here!" a high pitched voice came from a distance.
"Who was that?" I asked calmly.
"Well, I have to go," he ignored my question.
"Damian, who was that?" I repeated.
He grunted again. "Chill, it's just my sister."
I wasn't as tense now, but there was still part of me that felt uneven about it. "Okay."
He hung up the phone and I bit my lip, looking down.
"You okay?" I looked up to see Calum, holding a tin bowl with a worried glance decorating his face.
I nodded before the thought occurred to me.
Damian doesn't have a sister.
I quickly shook my head, holding back tears. Calum put the bowl down and came towards me with open arms. I crashed into him, his arms creating a warm embrace around me, almost like a shield.
I sobbed into his shoulder as he held me.
I felt protected for once.
"This is the third time this month." I attempted to talk.
Calum tightened the embrace around me as I cried into him.
"He always says he'll be loyal," I choked. "and then he does it again."
Calum moved his head to lean on mine. "I don't push you or make the rules for your life, but he doesn't seem good for you," he murmured against my hair.
"But I love him!" I exclaimed through tears.
Michael now came in. "What's going on?" He kneeled next to me.
"He did it again, Mike."
Michael furrowed his brows for a second before his face softened into a look of sadness. "Why can't you let him go, Lucky?"
I sniffed. "It's harder than you think."
"Why? You would think when he cheats on you at least once a week you would come to the conclusion that he isn't good for you!"
I turned my head, burying my face against Calum's chest again.
"I can't," I told him sadly.
Michael sighed sadly before standing back up. "Come on, lets go back to the movie."
Calum handed Michael the bowl. "Can you make the popcorn?"
Michael eyed him suspiciously before cautiously taking the bowl.
Calum and I detached from our hug and went to go sit on the couch. He resumed the movie, and I had no idea what was happening. Suddenly something appeared on the screen quickly. Normally, I would cuddle into Michael, but he wasn't here. Calum watched the movie intently, unfazed. I lifted his arm and hid behind it.
"You alright there?" Calum smirked.
I shook my head violently, hiding my face in his ribcage.
"Why are you two always cuddling?" Michael joked as he entered the room.
I revealed myself from behind Calum and swatted at Michael's arm before reaching for the popcorn. "There was a scary part!"
Michael rolled his eyes. "There's always a scary part for you."
I huffed and turned my attention back to the movie.
~~~
"What time do you guys have to be home?" Calum questioned as we chewed our pizza.
Michael shrugged. "However long really."
I raised an eyebrow. "But I'm in trouble, I'll be grounded."
He smirked. "I was the guardian there, remember? Mom doesn't even know what happened. I can just tell her whatever."
I nodded and continued eating my food.
"So how long do you wanna stay?" Calum asked. "At this point you should just stay the night. We could make a fort in the living room," his eyes lit up.
"Sure, why not," Michael replied.
After thinking for a second, I thought this would be a great idea.
"Wait, I don't have clothes," I pointed out.
Calum shrugged. "You could just wear Mali's."
"See, a problem solver," Michael grinned.
"Are you sure she'd want me to just come into her house and wear her clothes?" I asked warily.
Calum thought for a moment. "Probably not. You could just wear some of mine."
Michael's face contorted into a look of discomfort. "She'd be better off just wearing mine."
"You don't want her to just borrow my shirt or something?"
"Michael, I'm not wearing your clothes.
"Why not?"
"Because you've been wearing them and they stink!"
After an argument on what clothes I should wear, we finally decided I'd wear something of Calum's.
He tossed me a t-shirt and pants, and I went to go change in the bathroom.
"Cal!" I called.
"Hm?"
"The pants are way too big," I looked down at the pooling sweats around my feet.
"Is the shirt big enough?"
I looked at the shirt that covered about half my butt.
"I guess?"
"Could you just wear it as like a night shirt without pants?"
I looked at myself in the mirror. You could totally see my upper thighs and everything, but at least I had underwear. It was just my brother and his friend right? I mean I'd known Calum since we were practically babies, he wouldn't care.
"Yeah, I think," I replied as I folded up my clothes and opened the door.
Calum saw me and immediately blushed.
"Is Michael changed? I asked.
He nodded and motioned to the living room. When I walked out, Michael, who was sitting on the floor, had a look of horror spread across his face.
"She's practically naked!" he exclaimed.
I rolled my eyes. "We're sleeping, Mike. Besides, I'm still wearing a shirt."
He crawled forwards to me and pulled my arm down so I sat with him. He tugged me waist so I sat on his lap.
"Michael, what are you doing?" I huffed.
"I don't want him looking at your butt."
I rolled my eyes. "He's not going to look at my butt!"
I looked over at Calum, who was trying to hold back a fit of laughter.
"You never know! You don't know what he wants to do you!"
"Michael, we are in the dark! He's not going to look at my butt!" I tried to stand up, but Michael kept a secure hold around me.
"Cal, would you look at her butt?" Michael looked at his friend.
Calum's cheeks blushed profusely. "Uh... no... maybe? No."
He seemed unsure about his answer. "Yes, probably."
I could feel Michael tense up behind me as my cheeks flushed crimson.
"That's why I'm holding you, Lucky."
Guess I was sleeping on my brothers lap.
