════ ❁ ════

LET'S get one thing straight, seulgi thought to herself. never come to a drunk guy's rescue unprepared.

but she was doing it either way.

she rolled her eyes at him. just a few weeks ago he took every circumstance to try and avoid conversation with her. now, he was calling her at the dark of night to probably save his drunk ass.

"jimin," seulgi pleaded, her arms crossed, kicking the side of jimin's upholstered seat, "i swear to god, if you don't get up, i will lose it." for the past ten minutes she assumed she had been doing this, to no expense, he just chooses to continue ignoring her and sleep it off. "yah! park jimin!" nothing.

and it was messing with her mind.

she groaned. "is he always like this when he's drunk?" seulgi asked, eyeing the four other guys and joy, who had retreated to a nearby seat. "i don't think he's going to want to wake up."

"he's more of a passionate drunk than a sleepy drunk," replied namjoon, who was preparing to pay for their drinks. "he does a lot more talking than he usually does about things he's actually really passionate about."

"alcohol is liquid courage, after all."

seulgi raised an eyebrow. that would explain the phone call. "and this goes on for how long?"

"mostly until he tires himself out." namjoon placed a few hundred won on the table.

"last time he was deadbeat drunk, he was screaming at his own reflection in the mirror." hoseok stood up.

"almost punched the mirror if he hadn't hurled a thousand won's worth of drinks," sungwoon added, and taehyung gave him a look.

"seriously?"

sungwoon nodded. "that was your mirror," he said to seulgi, "and your sink."

"he sounds like a lovely person," joy remarked sarcastically as she looked at jimin with disgust.

he mumbled a few whispers as he stirred and faced the other side of the chair, drawing a few looks.

"oh, he's harmless," hoseok said. "he tends to embarrass himself every now and then, but he's fine."

"is he always this hard to wake up when he's drunk?" seulgi asked.

namjoon just shrugged. "i don't know. i've never really been in a situation that actually required to take care of a drunk jimin in public." he stood up as well. "we mostly just drink in the studio."

seulgi shook her head. "well, we can't just leave him here," she said, sitting down in frustration. she looked at jimin - his mouth parted slightly, his arms folded to his chest, causing his leather jacket to crumple up. a few of his bangs covered his forehead, even if his hair was brushed up to reveal his eyes that were closed shut.

god, he was still so beautiful. even if he was buzzed to his bones.

she did get it - anyone who just drank four, possibly five bottles of alcoholic content would probably defy waking up, and it was frustrating her that he won't even budge just a bit.

but somehow, what frustrated her more was the fact that even if he called her minutes after midnight on a work day, which practically caused her to come running to a bar at such a late hour to keep trying to get him home, she couldn't bring herself to be mad at him; not even one bit. partly because he was probably very emotional at the moment, getting drunk over losing the studio and all - but partly because he had called her pretty.

well, he didn't exactly call her pretty; but he did want to tell her she was.

god, why am i still so hung up on this guy?

"i'll wake him up," volunteered taehyung. "since miss 'my-roommate's-drunk-i'll-save-the-day' hasn't got any progress so far whatsoever."

seulgi glared at him, her mouth open. "excuse me?"

"you heard me," he replied. "unless you're willing to haul him to the sidewalk."

"whatever." seulgi sighed, averting her legs to let him pass through.

taehyung made his way over to jimin's position and crouched to his level, inches away from the table. "min?" he cooed, shaking jimin's arm lightly. "bud, we need to go home."

jimin stirred, rubbing his eyes, stretching his limbs drunkenly. "tae...?"

"c'mon, jimin, let's get you hom-"

"no, no," he said, pushing taehyung's arms away as the younger tried to reach over to help him up. "i-i'm not leaving yet."

"chim, it's already-"

"i-i'm staying here," he mumbled, shaking his head vigorously. "staying-"

"we're not leaving him here." seulgi stood up to crouch in next to taehyung.

"we won't." taehyung turned his attention back to jimin. "chim-"

"jimin-"

"i'm waiting for s-someone," jimin slurred, intterupting the both of them. he let his head hang for a while.

seulgi looked at taehyung, who was just as confused as she was, his forehead scrunching up. "who exactly?"

jimin peeked an eye open. "she," he began, "told me she was coming."

seulgi raised an eyebrow, and closed her eyes in frustration. of course, he'd bring over a girl, she thought. that's easily the most jimin thing to do.

but there was this feeling - weird feeling - that she was getting, at the very back of her head. she had no idea what that was supposed to be, but it was familiar in some level. she was sure she had felt it before.

like the first time she met him.

and she hated it.

"does she have a name?" taehyung asked.

jimin opened his eyes again, one after the other, then closed them. "she's not here yet," he replied.

that was probably nowhere near the answer they were expecting, but they went with it. "is she pretty?" asked seulgi.

he leaned forward, placing a hand on both their shoulders, startling them both. "is she pretty? is she pretty?" he giggled. "god, she's so fucking pretty."

taehyung gave a slight snicker, along with the three other boys. sungwoon was snickering the loudest. "don't," seulgi said, smacking taehyung with the back of her hand, "make fun of him."

"i'm not," he replied, still laughing. he cleared his throat. "jim-"

jimin suddenly placed a hand on seulgi's, startling her again. "wha-"

"s-say," jimin slurred. "you look just....like her."

seulgi raised an eyebrow. "really?"

he nodded impulsively in reply. he tightened his grip on her hand, and brought his other hand on her wrist. "you... feel like her, too."

"oh, i do now?"

"yes, yes, yes." seulgi tried to take her hand away from him, but his grip was too tight.

"uh, jimin?" she muttered. "can you - uh, please let go of me? please?" for a while, he was silent, his eyes closed. "jimin?" one moment she was tapping his hand to let go of her, to no luck.

and just like that, he lunged at her.

it wasn't really lunging; more of just letting his body topple over hers. painfully.

"jimin!" seulgi exclaimed as she felt put the weight of his entire body onto hers, which made her fall back to the tiled floors, a drunk man with a strong stench of beer on top of her, his face nuzzled on the ground. "yah! get the hell off of me, asshole!"

jimin just grunted. "you even....smell like her, too."

"i what?" seulgi was partly thankful that the bar was dark enough to mask her blushing face.

she wasn't exactly sure if it was because of their current situation, or because jimin was hot. literally.

hoseok and sungwoon hurriedly walked over, crouching down to see what happened. joy, along with namjoon and taehyung, loomed over them.

"chim," taehyung said, trying to hold off his laughter, "did this lovely lady's name happen to be, uh, seulgi, by any chance?"

seulgi felt jimin nod his head vigorously. "p-pretty name."

she closed her eyes and groaned in embarrassment. on the bright side of things, she thought, as if there wasn't a huge guy on top of her, there was no other girl. she had no idea why she didn't realize that it was indeed her any sooner, and the fact that jimin was still waiting for her to come get him - even if she's been present for the past thirty minutes - that got to her.

he still was a sweet old dork.

she eyed them. "having fun?"

taehyung snickered. namjoon smirked beside him. "quite."

"great, glad you are," seulgi remarked sarcastically. "now, can you help me up?"

"i don't know," taehyung said. "you two look quite good together. especially when he's, you know, on top of you."

seulgi glared at her. "really now?"

"yep. a little while more?"

"asshole." she turned to joy. "yah, help me up."

joy raised her hands up. "you dragged me into this. you're getting yourself out of there."

"seriously?" joy smirked, but she just stood there. seulgi glared at her.

"here." hoseok offered to gently push jimin aside, letting him lie flat on his back to her right, looking at her as he offered a hand to stand up.

seulgi brushed her clothes as she caught hoseok's eye. "thanks." he gave her a small smile in return. "you're in trouble," she said, pointing a finger at joy, to which she just rolls her eyes.

jimin was giggling hopelessly as they all stood over her. "care to help him get up?"

"i'll do it." hoseok crouched down, but not before smacking taehyung's right leg to do the same, and reached out to help him up. "jimin-ah."

"hi hyung," jimin replied, still giggling.

"let's get you home, hm?" jimin stood up and clung mostly to hoseok, taehyung supporting his other arm.

"but-" jimin muttered like a kid, "but seulgi's still-"

"let's get going," hoseok said. "you need to get some rest," namjoon added.

"what about seulgi?" jimin asked innocently.

seulgi waved a hand in the air. "i'm right here, jimin." only jimin didn't seem to mind.

"get him to the car." namjoon walked past them.

jimin held onto both taehyung and hoseok as they limped across the bar, seulgi following close behind, sungwoon and joy walking behind. it wasn't that long of a walk, but when you have a giggly drunk guy with you, it's going to turn out longer.

hoseok adjusted his hold on him. "wow, jimin's heavy."

taehyung snorted. "hyung, he's at least the same weight as an adult cow, don't-"

"less talking, more walking." namjoon held the door open for them, allowing them to pass through. the whole while, jimin was laughing with his head snapped up.

"be careful-"

"yeah, yeah, we're fin-"

"you were about to bop his head a minute ago-"

"fine, fine! will you just-"

"alright, just walk!"

it took them a good ten minutes before they were standing in the parking lot in front of jimin's car, a dark-colored small thing that seulgi made out to be at least a year old.

"let go of him for a second," seulgi said, slowing them down.

"seulgi, i don't think that's a good idea." hoseok was struggling to keep up. "considering he can't–" he grunted, "–even stand properly."

"we need his keys," seulgi said, turning back, eyeing the inside of his car. "check his pockets."

all eyes fell on joy, who was just standing at the side with her arms crossed. "what?"

"considering your hands aren't exactly full," taehyung began, "do you mind?"

joy rolled her eyes. "i don't even know this guy!" seulgi gave her a look, and she just sighed. "whatever. where are the keys?"

"here," namjoon said, tossing her the keys.

"why do you have his keys?"

"it's a bad idea to search for his keys in his pants when he's drunk," he explained. "he might get the wrong picture, and start, uh-"

"right."

joy was unlocking the doors as soon as she got them, and popped the backseat open.

"alright, in you go, chim," hoseok said.

jimin's head snapped up, and turned to face seulgi, who was right beside him. "h-hey, pretty girl?"

seulgi turned to him, her eyes wide. "m-me?"

"yeah," he slurred. "a-are you coming home with me?"

the embarrassment made her close her eyes and sigh, but when she saw jimin have that hopeful look his face, even though most of his messy hair was covering his face and his eyes were barely even open, she couldn't bring herself to say something sarcastic.

she had no idea why; she knew he was drunk, she knew it probably wasn't true.

she just couldn't. not with his eyes on her.

"y-yeah, whatever." she was thankful that nobody was probably seeing her blush again.

"you will?"

"yeah, just get in the car."

he smiled that goofy smile at her before bending it to lie inside the car's backseat, stretching his limbs. namjoon and joy smiled as well.

"real smooth, min," namjoon muttered.

taehyung and hoseok stood up from helping him in, and straightened their backs as well.

"i'll get him home," seulgi said, taking the keys from joy, boarding the front seat, the younger going passenger.

taehyung's eyes narrowed. "why?"

she cocked her head to the side. "you guys are drunk. there's no way you're driving." she placed her hands on her waist.

"it was only few bo-"

"a few bottles is still drunk," she interrupted. "and drunk means no driving."

"he-"

"don't worry, i'll take care of them," namjoon said, stepping front and leaning on the window. "we'll get home. get him home safely, okay?"

seulgi nodded. "go hail a cab or something." namjoon smiled at her. "what?"

"nothing. thanks for picking him up."

"yeah, yeah."

nice meeting you."

"yeah, you too."

namjoon gave her a wave as she drove away, drunk jimin in the backseat and joy beside her up front. it was silent, until joy decided to speak up.

"well, that went nice," joy remarked sarcastically. "perfect way to end a wednesday night."

"sorry i brought you into this," seulgi said, sighing, gluing her eyes on the road.

joy looked at her. "it's okay," she reassured her. "it wasn't that bad. besides," she said, bringing out her phone, "i got me that guy sungwoon's number-"

seulgi's eyes widened. "you what?"

"i got his number." joy said it, smiling, like it was the most nonchalant thing to do.

"joy, you have a boyfriend," seulgi said. "sungjae? remember him? ring a bell in there?"

joy rolled her eyes. "it's not like i plan on texting him." she thinned her lips. "it's just nice to know i have options, you know?" she turned her attention to the one driving. "you, on the other hand, got asked out."

seulgi scoffed. "yeah, by a drunk guy."

"so what if he's drunk?" she looked at him. "he still asked you out. and he's kinda cute."

"it's not like that."

"what is it supposed to be, then?"

the older one rolled her eyes. "i'm not even sure if he meant that."

joy scooted to face her. "unnie, alcohol is nothing more than liquid courage. remember?"

seulgi tried to brush off the fact that, indeed, a drunk jimin may or may not have asked her out. she couldn't stop thinking about it, and joy constantly bugging her about it really wasn't helping.

pretty girl, huh?

it wasn't that it was jimin asking her out - it was because it was her ex-boyfriend asking her out. and to her, it was probably wrong on so many levels.

right?

"hey," jimin said from the backseat, "pretty lady?"

both seulgi and joy looked at the backseat. "yeah?" seulgi asked.

"pretty lady?"

"be quiet."

"where are we going?" jimin asked.

"we're going home, jimin-ah."

"are we going to the studio?"

joy turned to seulgi. seulgi looked straight ahead. the studio was one of his homes, after all. "are we really-"

"hush, joy," seulgi quickly interjected. she looked at the front mirror of the car, only to see jimin snoozing by the car's seats, his lips parted slightly again. she sighed.

"that's right, we're going to the studio."
