WENDY stood with her hands on her waist, looking at several tables, each with a silver tray on them, holding four-teared layer wedding cakes on them. they looked almost identical, but she still had her forehead scrunched altogether.

"aesthetic is one thing," she said, placing her lips in a thin line, "but i guess the taste is going to be the final factor."

"finally," yoongi said, sighing beside her. his straight brown hair framed his dark-rimmed glasses, and his sweater looked like he was ready for easter. wendy was wearing the same-sized sweater, but only a different color.

"finally what?" wendy asked him.

"that's what i've been telling you since we got here," he said, straightening his glasses. "we've wasted almost a half-hour just looking at these cakes, when we could be tasting them. they're almost identically colored."

"they are not," she said, narrowing her eyes at him. yoongi gives her an exasperated look and sighs, crossing his arms. "this is clearly beige, and that's peach. that other one has an eggshell tint to it-"

"and they're all just cream-colored," yoongi cut her off, slinging an arm around her shoulders. "it's not going to matter, baby, we're supposed to only care about the taste."

wendy sighed a sigh of apparent defeat. "yeah, alright." she looked up at him. "but for someone with four eyes, you're bad at identifying colors."

"my job description doesn't include identifying colors," yoongi retorted. "you, my love, are stressed."

"can you blame me?"

"you're cute when you're stressed, so don't worry," he said, laying his cheek next to her temple.

wendy didn't look convinced, but gave a small smile of relief. "i'm not."

"yes, you are."

"i'm really not."

"seungwan-ah, you're never not cute, okay? don't convince me otherwise." yoongi squeezed her shoulder reassuringly. "you need to relax, i'm not marrying you if you show up half-dead at that church."

she hit his arm softly. "hey."

"i'm kidding." wendy took a deep breath and looked up at him, giving her a warm smile.

"you better be."

"i told you to stop getting so stressed out."

"i am!"

yoongi snorted. "now, should we choose?"

wendy raised an eyebrow. "you're joining me?"

"well, yeah." yoongi looked at her like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"don't you have that appointment with your tuxedo?"

yoongi's head snapped up, eyes widening, and his right hand reached for his phone at the back pocket of his jeans, and looked down at it. "you're right, i do have a schedule-"

"i thought so," wendy said, raising an eyebrow and crossing her arms, "which is why you should get going."

"-in about a half-hour," yoongi finished his statement, stuffing his phone back inside his jeans. "i can stay for the cake-tasting, sweetie, it won't be a bother."

"you need a healthy waist for a tuxedo fitting, yoongi," she replied, giving him a look. "and we know how you are around pastries."

"i'm not going to eat much, this is a tasting." he straightened his glasses at the crook of his nose. "we'll probably pay extra if we overeat."

"that was what you said last time when we went to eat macaroons. and this was that same place." wendy folded her arms, but yoongi just approached her and unfolded them, hanging them around his neck, and wendy didn't even budge back.

"i'm not going to eat a whole a cake, wendy, i swear." he muttered, looking her in the eyes, before leaning down. "besides," he said, whispering in her ear, "why would i need to eat cake when i can something...sweeter?"

wendy's eyes widened as she felt her cheeks turn red. there were at least a few other women in the bakery, employees and other customers, and the fact that yoongi made a greasy remark made her embarrassed.

"yoongi!" she smacked his arm, making him chuckle deeply as he held onto her waist tighter. wendy laid her head on his chest and just stood there.

"what? i was talking about the macaroons," he said in defense. "unless you really want it to be something else-"

wendy snapped her head up. "yoongi, i swear to god-"

"now that you've mention it, we haven't done it in a bakery before," he said casually, and her eyes widened yet again.

"yoongi!"

"i have twenty-seven minutes, babe."

"wha-"

"haven't done what, exactly?" said another voice, and both wendy and yoongi turned immediately to the direction where it came from. seulgi stood there, in shorts and a plaid shirt over a white tee, a handbag in one hand, arms crossed and eyebrows raised. her hair was in a damp braid, and she looked like she'd been in there for quite long.

they broke away from their hug and strained themselves to hide their laughter. wendy was still bright red. "hi, seulgi."

"hello, yoongi oppa," seulgi said in a monotonous voice, "hello, wendy."

"seulgi," yoongi said, nodding in regard. "h-how long have you been standing there?"

"long enough," she said, walking over to the small table by the store's glass window. "i'd keep the greasy remarks outside if i were either of you, i wouldn't want to ruin the cakes for anyone. they might turn sour."

"who said anything about greasy remarks?" yoongi said, and wendy nudged him.

"like i said, i'm just worried for the cakes." seulgi said, crossing her arms again.

"don't worry, he was just leaving," wendy said, slowly pushing yoongi off to the direction of the door. yoongi had this unwavering smirk on his face.

"yeah, i have an appointment in a half-hour, and it takes ten minutes to drive there."

"he doesn't want to be stuck in traffic," wendy said, mocking his tone, still making it seem like she was talking to seulgi when she was clearly talking to him.

"it's a saturday," yoongi returned. "but fine, i'm going." he stopped trying to resist her as he approached the doorway, and laid a quick peck on her lips before smiling at both girls, "i'll see you guys later," and he turned to wendy just to say, "i'll definitely be seeing you later." wendy gave him another smack on the arm before closing the door behind her, sighing, and walking back to seulgi.

"sorry about that," she said, reaching to where seulgi was, one eyebrow still raised.

"it's fine," seulgi replied. "you guys are cute."

it was wendy's turn to raise an eyebrow. "is it just me, or did you just say the word cute like it was being forced out of you?"

seulgi just shrugged. "it's not a good day, wendy."

"as if that's not already clear to me." wendy shook her head. "that's why we're here - to taste cakes!"

"how exciting," seulgi said in a monotone voice.

"hey, don't underestimate the power of pastries, they're that healing," wendy said. "and besides, i invited you so you can let loose for a bit, you know?"

seulgi nodded. "i guess." she stood up, walking over to the tables where the sample cakes could be found.

eyeing her completely, wendy decided to just shake it off and walked towards her. there was definitely something a bit off about seulgi today, and wendy was noticing it.

"well, these are just sample cakes the bakery has given us to taste test, we can choose out of all of them or ask for a custom flavor if we don't like any of them.yoongi said we can worry about the design later." seulgi nodded slowly at her statement, and wendy looked at her with a scrunched forehead.

"alright, we should start, i guess." she took a fork and a small knife, and led seulgi to the first tray. "this first one i've already tasted, i personally think its color is a bit off, but we can try and taste it to see if it works."

she handed seulgi another fork to help her decide, and she cut out a small piece, placing it into a small plate beside them. she took a small bite before handing it to seulgi, who took a more generously-sized one, and she gazed at her expression.

"well?"

seulgi just had a blank expression on her face, and wendy was worried that it was the same expression she had whenever she was thinking of something. or someone.

"i-i think i need to taste it more." she took the knife from wendy and took another slice, placing it into a different plate. the slice was more than wendy had expected.

"seulgi, this is a tasting, not a birthday party, we can't eat that much of the samp-"

"well, i had a lot of uneasy thoughts infiltrating my mind recently and seeing as there is no alcohol present, i had to resort to the best possible option." she sat down and started eating the cake in forkfuls, some of the icing on the corner of her lips.

wendy just stood there, mortified. yep, something was definitely wrong.

"are you kidding me?" seulgi just looked at wendy, arms crossed, standing in front of her with a shocked expression. "what's wrong?"

"nothing's wrong, wendy, i just wanted some cake."

"no, there is something wrong." wendy sat down beside her. "you look like you just had the worst shower of your life, and you're probably in the mood to punch someone right now. tell me," wendy said, taking seulgi's plate, making her whine over it, "what's wrong?"

seulgi sighed. she knew wendy's intuition when it comes to her was pretty strong. she had no idea if it was because she showed emotions too easily, or if wendy just knew her too well. plus, she took her cake.

"jimin hopped in while i was showering today," she said, laying her back onto the couch. "you know how the bathroom door's lock is broken."

"and you're pissed about this?"

"he intruded on me while i was showering, wendy, duh!" she sighed. "but, it's not that," seulgi said, sighing heavily again. it was hard to tell people about these things, even if it was wendy. "h-he was teasing me about having slept with him again-"

wendy sat up with a shocked expression on her face. "you slept with him? again?"

seulgi nodded, biting her lip down. "it was after your bridal party, so we were both drunk."

"he was there?"

she nodded again, biting her lip down harder. "i, uh, invited him." wendy gave her a look. "i was lonely."

wendy just blinked. "go on."

"well, he said that sleeping around casually wouldn't matter when we were together again, and i-i just-" seulgi's voice faltered, and she sighed. "i didn't know what to say."

wendy could see the confusion in seulgi's eyes. "so he does still love you."

seulgi nodded slowly. "joy told me we probably had touchy-exes. i didn't want to believe her, but i guess she was right." she sighed. "and we all know how we hate it when joy's right."

"he's been flirting with you," wendy said, "and you've been flirting back?"

"i didn't want to hurt him, okay? it was either that or i shut him out again, like last time. and we both know how last time turned out." wendy nodded.

"i get you," she said, holding seulgi's hand, scooting back to allow her to lay her head on her shoulder. "but you do know that leading him on won't necessarily solve anything either, right? you're just making him believe that he still has a chance to pursue his feelings for you, even when he probably doesn't have anymore."

seulgi sighed. she was right. she hated that she was stuck in a situation where her options could all end up hurting him - it was crazy.

"h-he asked me," she continued, "if i still had feelings for him, if i still loved him."

wendy was waiting for the next sentence. "and?"

"and," seulgi said, "i didn't answer him."

wendy nodded. she understood. "you really don't know, do you?"

"i feel like i do," she replied. "but i don't know, it seems wrong. it seems wrong to repeat the same mistake you've done with the same person that you know you're going to hurt again if you do."

"i know, honey." seulgi appreciated wendy during times like this. she always knew how to be there.

"god, wendy, i feel so shitty," seulgi said. "w-what do i do?"

wendy just sighed. "well, for starters, you should focus and actually start deciding what you actually feel for him." she slung an arm around seulgi. "you're confusing him, and he's paying the price for your indecisiveness. he doesn't know whether to move on or keep on hoping."

seulgi fell silent. she knew wendy was right - and she was right most of the time.

"jimin is always going to be there whether you decide to really call it off or not. he's a good guy, he's not even close to the guy you've been describing at all."

jimin wasn't a fuckboy; he was just looking for love.

"he needs an answer, seulgi. he needs closure so he can start accepting the fact that you guys are over for good."

she closed her eyes. amidst the guilt and the anger towards herself that was overwhelming her emotions, there was still the love she had for jimin, and it was all congesting inside her heart. she knew they never went away. she didn't know what to do.

"now, let me be the first to ask you this properly, because i knew you probably couldn't focus clearly enough when there's a hot guy running around naked in your bathroom with you." she let out a small chuckle with wendy, but it quickly fell silent. "do you still love jimin?"

she froze. this was probably one of the hardest questions anyone has ever asked kang seulgi in her lifetime - as petty as it may sound - and she knew she had to be honest at one point or another, because lying to wendy will lead nowhere, and lying to herself will lead to more pain, for both her and jimin.

she knew she had to answer this. honestly. nothing holding her back. even in a petite little bakery in the side of seoul.

"i-i think i do." seulgi stuttered as she let the truth out. "i mean, i don't think i do, because the feelings never really went away. i was just foolish enough to break up with him because of the fear of committing to someone i know i don't deserve."

wendy nodded, a small smirk forming at the side of her lips, sighing in relief. "feels good to finally tell the truth and stop lying to your friends, huh?"

"shut up." seulgi sat up and sighed again.

"why did he break up with you, anyway?"

"he didn't. i broke up with him." wendy blinked. "i make it sound like he's such an awful person, but he's not."

"i thought you said he cheated on you."

"he gets way too comfortable around women, but he would never hurt me like that. he never even looked at another girl when we were together, as far as i can remember."

"so he didn't cheat on you?" wendy asked, and seulgi shook her head no.

"i-i actually still love him. maybe that was why i couldn't stay away from him."

"well, you'd better something about it, before jimin changes his mind."

seulgi looked at her, her forehead scrunched together as she wiped her nose. "w-what?"

"you left him without an answer, seulgi. you left him confused, emotional, and half-naked. he's probably emotional enough to convince himself that he's mad at you more than he loves you and he probably won't listen to reason, since he'll let his anger get the best of him." seulgi's eyes widened at her vivid description. "but that's just my hint."

oh, god, she thought to herself.

"things could turn out either really good, or really bad."

wendy's last statement lingered around seulgi's head for the rest of the morning, as they were deciding on which cake had the better tangy taste to it or which lavender was the best lavender for the wedding. it wasn't a surprise that she'd fucked up again, but this was a fuck-up that she had to fix - no wendy or jimin to help her out.

things could turn out either really good, or really bad.

it still rung in her head when she entered their apartment that afternoon, removing her shoes and coat by the door, snapping her head up when she saw jimin walk into the kitchen, in a loose tank and pajama bottoms, his hair disheveled, and his eyes and nose red from all the emotions hopping around. the normal sense of life was drained from his eyes, and seulgi could tell when they both halted to look each other straight in the eyes, hoping one would talk, or clear anything that's been going on.

and they even stood there for a few moments, before seulgi decided to break the silence. "jimin-"

he just sighed and took the bag of chips by the table, striding quickly into his room, two steps ahead of her at this point, shaking his head in either pure annoyance or disappointment as seulgi strode after him, her heart pounding way too hard in her chest.

"jimin-"

he closed the door behind him as soon as she was two steps away from the door, and seulgi could her the soft faltering in her voice.

"c'mon, jimin, talk to me."

well then, i guess really bad it is.
