and lucas isn't having any of it.

but what can he do?

the older hates him.

"hyung, you should probably go to your campus now. it's getting late." jungwoo chuckled.

taeil has always been like this, ever since they were young. he would always be by his side, no matter what. even if he gets embarrassed. but jungwoo is okay with it. at least he knows he's not alone.

"don't you want me to stay?" taeil pouted, making the younger coo at his hyung.

"i don't want you to be late, moon hyung." the younger spoke, pinching the older's cheeks.

"alright. i'll get going then, see you at lunch?" taeil patted jungwoo's head. "yeah. see you!" jungwoo waved his hands as he watched taeil left his room.

"are you two dating?" someone scoffed behind his seat.

jungwoo rolled his eyes.

it's the one and only, lucas wong.

"so what if we're dating? it's none of your business." jungwoo groaned, he's not having any of the younger's - today.

"haven't you forgave me? you're acting as if we're not friends at all." lucas slouched.

"we're not friends, and we'll never be friends."

"then let's be a couple."

"in your dreams."

"and in reality."

jungwoo just shut his mouth. not wanting to argue anymore.

and, him and lucas? a couple? nuh-uh. never. it never even crossed his mind. even if lucas has been trying his best to prove that he has changed. for the better.

lucas confessed at the older, 3 years ago. but jungwoo declined it. not because he hates lucas, but because he wants to prioritized his studies first. he didn't want any distractions. but lucas just have to come to his life and ruin his concentration.

school ended and jungwoo is waiting at the cafeteria for his friend, taeil.

the cafeteria is empty, meaning that every student already left the school.

his phone suddenly vibrated.

he took it out and looked at the new message he got.

jungwoo-ssi. i can't go home with you today, i have a group project with soem of my school mates today so you'll be walking home alone. i'm sorry, puppy.

jungwoo sighed as he put his phone back on his pocket.

'as much as i don't want to walk alone, i need to--'

someone suddenly headlocked him.

"jungwoo hyung!" lucas chuckled.

"ow! get off me!" jungwoo pulled away from the younger's touch.

"what are you doing here?"

"i was supposed to wait for taeil hyung, but he's doing a group project with his classmates." jungwoo said.

"so, you'll be walking home?" lucas asked again.

"isn't it obvious?" jungwoo rolled his eyes. standing up and walking away.

"can i walk with you?"

and, lucas ended up walking with jungwoo.

well, jungwoo didn't want to walk alone so he accepted the younger's offer. i mean, why not? he can get to know more about lucas with this.

but how can he get to know more about lucas if the atmosphere is really awkward?

"hyung," the younger called. jungwoo tilt his head to the younger. "do you think i'll ever have a chance with you?"

jungwoo looked away, when lucas looked at him.

"no."

"it's alright." lucas smiled. "i'll wait."

"i know that you want to focus on your studies, so i'm sorry for even trying." the younger sighed.

but jungwoo needs to admit, lucas may or may not have been making his heart race lately.

"but my heart says the opposite."

lucas' eyes widened.

"really?"

"alright. this is my stop. thanks for walking me home, xuxi." jungwoo smiled, and waved goodbye at the younger.

he opened his gate and closed it.

and lucas just stood there, unconsciously smiling like a creep.

"take care on your way home!" jungwoo yelled as he closed the gate.

"i will, puppy." lucas smiled, and started walking his way home.
