Upon receiving her gift and kicking Kai out of the boarding house, Abigail used his gift to create a picture. Or, tried to as she's never really painted before. It was new to her although having it available to her throughout the centuries.

The image she pained was a white shadow of a girl on her knees in a sea of black. In the center of the girl laid a small black dot that seemed to be manifesting over the chest area. The black represented evil and cruelty in the world, along with other titles that weren't so nice. But then the girl stood pure amongst everything around her. Though, after all the girl has been through she fell to her knees in defeat and finally let the darkness overcome her, hence the black dot in the middle of the shadow.

Abigail didn't really think anything of it as she just painted whatever she first came to mind. And then she concluded the true meaning behind the painting and wondered why she had to go so deep. Maybe this was her way of getting all her feelings out so she wouldn't be so pent up.

The next day followed rather quickly compared to the rest. Her morning routine remained the same; get up, use the bathroom, brush her teeth ( after Damon scowled her that was a necessity ), and get changed into something for the day. Today, though, she figured to stay in her pajamas. Something told her that today wasn't going to be that eventful.

Just like yesterday, she found Kai in the house again, except breakfast was already made and he sat way opposite from her. Partially being because they weren't on the best of terms yet and he could image her being uncomfortable sitting right next to him. Kai stood quiet as she took her seat, a plate of pancakes in front of her.

"What? No sarcasm today?" Abigail asked teasingly as she picked up her fork and cut into a pancake, taking a little glance at him from across the table.

"Eh, too much work," Kai answered back with a shrug, his plate of pancakes almost finished. "Besides, I don't see you expressing your love to me."

"So, your stupid and brainless jokes are you expressing your love?" She rose an eyebrow with a look on her face, taking a mental note that she should've just stayed in bed. "Didn't know a person like you could even feel that emotion."

"Cute. And no, me expressing my love would be cutting out your liver. I'm merely just bored from lack of human interaction for the past 18 years," He answered back nonchalant, finally looking up at her as he noticed a smile come across her face.

To hear that Kai's been stuck in this prison world for 18 years brought this immense amount of joy to Abigail. It was obvious that he's been here for 18 years since the year and day never changed and in the real world it was 2014, but to hear him say it out loud was something else.

"And for many more to come," Abigail smiled and raised up her fork with a pancake piece on it in a toast like manner before eating it, looking as he frowned.

"You're never going to give me the ascendant, are you?" He asked sighing, rubbing his face with his hand.

"Nope. Well, at least 'till I know you're not a vicious murderer anymore. And even then I probably won't let you have it," She shrugged and got up, heading towards the fridge to grab a water bottle.

"In that case, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. But, hey, enjoy the ride 'cause it's going to be one hell of a doozy," Kai cheered as he lifted up his coffee and took a sip, having Abigail roll her eyes.

She closed the refrigerator door after she grabbed what she was looking for and made her way back to her spot. His eyes trailed on her until she felt him looking at her. "Take a picture, I heard they last longer."

Kai chuckled a bit at her use of phrases. It was clear that one of her backstabbing friends taught her that one as she said it with so much uncertainty. "I can see why Damon called you grandma. You try to act like you know of the modern uses yet have no idea what you're talking about. It's quite funny and sad at the same time."

"And you're a piece of shit who doesn't even deserve me talking to you," Abigail said nonchalantly as she leaned back in her chair, completely unfazed by his nasty comment. "Yet we're both here. So, you either have nothing else to do except make me breakfast or you enjoy talking to me until I start telling the truth about you being a horrible person. Am I correct?"

"Yesโ€”I truly enjoy you making a fool of yourself. It brings me such joy, because what other way would I spend the rest of my miserable eternity then to talk to someone who doesn't even like me?" Kai sarcastically asked as he stared at nothing in particular before his attention was back on Abigail, "You may be hot and all, but don't think you're the slightest very interesting."

Abigail wasn't going to just sit there and go back and forth with him. It will last all day considering the extra time they possessed, not to mention the endless insults they could possibly come up with. She pushed her chair back and stood up abrubtely, beginning to walk away. Kai didn't like this, or just didn't want to be alone, and his expression soon fell as he watched her get up. "I was kidding, Abby, stop being dramatic."

"Stop being an asshole towards me," She furrowed her eyebrows and crossed her eyebrows before bringing a forced smile on her face, "Oh, that's right. I don't care."

Kai knew the only way he was going to win this was with a guilt trip. She may have acted cold to him, but she had a heart of gold. "I'm sorry, alright? I guess, uh, being trapped inside a prison world caused me to be rusty with social interaction. For the first time in a long time, I'm not alone anymore like I was my entire life."

"You're just being dramatic," Abigail chuckled, causing Kai to raise an eyebrow at the comment. "I'm pretty sure you weren't alone your entire life."

He avoided his gaze at her and exhaled slowly. "My whole family hated me and called me an abomination, Abigail. They wouldn't even let me touch them, let alone be in the same room as them. So, to sum it up, yeah. I was alone."

"So, what, you didn't have friends or dare I say girlfriends to depend on?" Abigail asked, like she was almost starting to feel bad for the guy. She couldn't imagine not having a familt that hated you, like it didn't exist.

Kai rolled his eyes a bit at the mentions of girlfriends. "I had a friend, but then they stopped talking to me because apparently I was too aggressive, can you believe that? Then, I had this girlfriend who was a fellow witch, but she got me angry one night and I nearly sucked away all her magic. You can imagine how that break up went."

"If you haven't noticed, you pushed all those people away. So, it's technically all your fault that nobody was ever there for you," Abigail shrugged and gave him one last glare before walking away.

Kai thought about his words, and since the first time his family called him a monster when he was just a little boy, he was hurt. She didn't know anything about anything and certainly not why he has no friends. It wasn't his fault that his family fucked him up. When people call you an abomination and monster for years, the only thing you can do is prove them right.

He sniffled a bit and got up, returning to normal within seonds and he cleared everything up for Abigail. Not out of the kindness of his heart, but that got him thinking. She would never give up the ascendant until he changed himself, and she said that he pushed people away. What if he was able to prove her wrong? A smirk started to spread across his face as his master plan to get him out of here finally started making sense.
