December 23, 1712
four months before abigails death

It was just two days before Christmas Day and some family friends of the Winston's were throwing a little holiday ball. Dancing and games would be held as well as many foods to be served; including one of Abigails favorite, lamb.

It was just the day of and all throughout her studies she became distracted with what she was going to wear. News had traveled around town that some people from a coven on a business trip was going to be stopping by. She wondered if any of them were her age and if they were already betrothed.

She was already nearing 21 with just six months away; it wasn't normal for girls even over 18 to not be married or engaged by now. Her mother made excuses about how they, she and her father, would always support her.

But Abigail didn't want support. She wanted a husband who would love her unconditionally and irrevocably. Someone to spend the rest of her life with, to settle down and start her own family. However, nobody in the village was worth any of her time as they were all horrible men.

She promised herself that she would never, ever, settle for a man who didn't treat her right.

She sat in a chair in front of her mirror, as her mother was brushing out her hair and fixing it up. They still hadn't decided upon a dress yet and her mother could tell she was getting anxious.

"You'll look beautiful in whatever you wear," Her mother assured her with a kind smile as she glanced at her daughter through the mirror, "As you always are, darling."

"Mother, what if I don't meet any nice gentlemen at the ball?" Abigail asked as it came out as a small whine, "I don't want to spend the right of my life living at home with the triplets."

Her mother laughed a bit and put a hand on her chest, "You offend me, Abigail. You wouldn't want to live forever with your mother who loves you so?"

Abigail only sighed and smiled at her mother through her reflection, "You know what I mean, mama."

"Well, in my opinion, you shouldn't have to meet a man at all. I want you to be happy and in love, not in love because you feel just happen to want it," Her mother shook her head a bit in disapproval towards her, "I don't want you to think that nobody would have you even if you were 30. Look at Mrs. Sanders, after all, she found love and got married at 64 in just a year."

"Are you proposing that I'm going to end up like Mrs. Sanders?" Abigail asked in horror, only thinking of the negative benefits that would cause her.

This gave Mrs. Winston a good laugh before shaking her head and continuing, "I'm saying she didn't need a man to be happy, which is what I want for you."

"Thank you, mama, really. But I don't want to die before meeting the man of my dreams," She said with a little weak smile, thinking of what kind of business witches can get involved, "I've been having dreams lately of me dying. I don't like it. I know, it could happen at my time in history, but I just want to make sure that I'm in love by then."

Her mother stood quiet as she got a ribbon and started to tie it into Abigails hair. She made a pretty braid reaching just past her shoulders with strands of hair falling at her face. Finally, her mother turned her around and grasped her shoulders.

"You don't need love, Abigail. You have the love of your family and of your friends. You're well respected in the community of the coven and you have a future that none of us dreamed about, my darling. A man that provides love is rare, yes, but not at all the only thing in the world. I've always said this, Abigail, that I want you to find adventure and fun before settling down. Don't make your poor old mum unhappy, please."

Abigail took a breath in before slowly releasing it. Her mother was her best friend and hearing her say those words made her feel much better about herself. Even if she was 30 she'd still find love, it just takes some time.

"Thank you, mama. I love you."

"I love you too, darling."

May 10, 1994

"โ€”and of course I broke into the oval office and took a picture of myself by the windows looking all JFK, but then I was like 'wait, how am I going to get these photos developed' so thenโ€”,"

"Oh my god, can you answer just answer the damn question?" Damon interrupted Kai speaking about something Abigail and him didn't care about, "How are we going to get out of this twilight zone?"

What happened last night between Abigail and Kai wasn't discussed, which she was thankful for. She didn't need him snitching on her to Damon or Bonnie which he looked like the type to do. No offense on his side.

"I have a question for you first. Why do you think we're stuck in a repeating loop of May 10th, 1994, doomed to live a solar eclipse forever and ever?" Kai asked Damon with furrowed eyebrows, striking her attention.

The subject was never really touched upon by him, and she couldn't say she wasn't curious about it. There have been so many times where Damon has said this was his personal hell, but never explained why. It was annoying not knowing for Abigail.

"Why do you care what he thinks?" She asks him and he looks at her, not surprised she had something to say. She sure was the feisty one between her and Bonnie. "It's not like he has a brain to justify his answer." Damon looked at her with annoyance on his face which only caused Abigail to smile.

"Well, I've heard him tell Bonnie that this was his personal hell many times. I'm just curious to know why," He stated with interest before looking back at Damon, his eyebrows raised with interest. "I'm surprised you're not, Abby, as you don't know him that well either."

Before Damon or Abigail could answer, Bonnie came walking in with a bag of necessities Kai apparently needed. He made the request for her to get it specifically, but Abigail thinks that was just an excuse to look at her ass as she walked out.

"I found everything you've asked for. Can opener, shower drain, grinding wheel, jam, pocket knife, volume O of the encyclopedia," Bonnie listed before opening the bag as Kai was starting to sit up more, "A nail and a black marker."

She started to then dump all the stuff out on the table in front of them, making Abigail sit up and pick up the marker. This was all the fuss he made about? It looked totally useless to her.

"Now what?" Abigail asked him curiously before putting back the marker and looking at him. She was still sitting unlike her two friends who were standing.

"Well, I can't show you with my hands tied, princess," Kai stated with a smug look before moving his hands, making sure to send her a little wink about the topic.

Bonnie picked up the pocket knife and walked over to him much to Damon's dismay. "Bonnie!" He called her name out, but approving of letting him free.

"Thank you, Bonnie," Kai said with the tone of gratefulness as she cut the ropes. Once finally being free, he let out a breath dramatically and let his hands go.

"So how is all this stuff going to get us out of here?" Damon asked the boy in an annoyed tone, waiting for his question to be answered after many minutes. Abigail snapped her fingers and pointed at Damon, happy they weren't going off topic.

"I'll answer that question as soon as you tell me what you did on May 10th, 1994," Kai smugly said as he made himself comfortable in his chair, crossing his legs.

Abigail started to think about what she did on May 10th. If anything, that was the day she finally gave what Rual was waiting for. That was a weak point in her dead-life for sure, but she was thankful nobody asked her about it.

"What difference does it make?" Damon dramatically asked, his arms widening out in confusion.

"Well, put it this way. Bonnies magic is one part of the equation, mine yet undisclosed matches the other, Abigail seems like a good enough person to leave this awful place, which means you would be hitching a ride home for free. I just want to know if you deserve to come along," Kai finished with an innocent attitude, leaning back in his chair.

Abigail scoffed at his reasoning why she was automatically joining. She didn't need his support in the matter and thought if Damon didn't want to say, then he shouldn't have to. It was his privacy and she had to respect it. Kai obviously didn't know what that meant.

She saw Damon get mad and walk up to the two, grabbing the pocket knife out of Bonnie's hand and grabbing Kai by his shirt, "Or i can just torture you until you say something useful."

She stood up quickly, not trusting that Damon won't hurt him. As much as she couldn't stand him, they needed Kai and he needed them. It wasn't up for debate anymore.

Kai furrowed his eyebrows in confusion when Abigail spoke up, "If you torture him, that'll just give him reason not to help you."

Kai looked at her with utter understanding, "Thank you, you took the words right from my mouth. Like, what kind of person needs to have that explained to them? I don't understand."

Bonnie took a step closer to the two, Abigail sitting back down, and then Damon eventually let go, causing Kai to chuckle and walk over to where Abigail was sitting. She rolled her eyes, thinking to herself 'out of all sitting places, you choose the one closest to me.'

"Play nice," She heard Bonnie tell Damon in a hushed tone, which she found hard to believe. Damon was an asshole, if anything playing nice wasn't in his vocabulary.

Kai took a seat next to her, a bit too close for her comfort. She heard Damon say something and then held in a laugh, making the boy next to her wonder what she was laughing at.

"You okay over there?" He asked in a non caring way, not even knowing why he bothered to ask the question in the first place.

"Damon told Bonnie to stop trying to impress you," She said in a low tone, trying so hard not to laugh. "I just find it funny how he thinks you're worth impressing."

"...maybe because I don't want to tell the worst thing I've ever did, Bonnie," They both heard Damon as he rose his voice a bit, causing them both to be intrigued.

"Oo, now I'm listening," Kai said with a little smirk before dipping his hand into the jam and shoving some into his mouth, causing Abigail to back up a bit from disgust.

"You have a little...just a little something," She sarcastically said and pointing all around his chin area, hoping he'll clean up the little jam that was on it. Instead, he just wiped his chin on his hand and then rubbed it on her arm.

"Better?" He asked with amusement, clearly enjoying whenever she got pissed off. Something about her making him fly into the air was just a thing he never wanted to let go of.

Abigail tensed up and then gritted her teeth together. She got up slowly, not wanting to suddenly start choking him, and walked out of the room to clean her arm.

A part of her new this day was going to go bad. Something about the whole atmosphere changed in a way, ever since Kai decided to show up. It took her long to notice, but she did, and now she wasn't going to let that go.

Something about him didn't sit right with Abigail and she was positive that it wasn't going to be a good thing.
