It's only been an hour or two since they've tied up Kai and he revealed his true intentions. Abigail was still reading the book which was mainly about historical events, but she wasn't complaining. If anything, she was just catching up on what she missed. Not that she really understood any of it, but it was worth a try. Why were people always getting into wars if they hated them?
"So, like, are you really a grandma or is that just a nickname Damon decided to bestow on you?" Kai asked her after being quite bored and wanting something to entertain him.
"He only calls me that because I'm old," Abigail answered nonchalant with a shrug, currently reading about something called the holocaust. It gave her the creeps, let her say.
"How old?" Kai asked again, cocking up an eyebrow. After all the time he's spent watching them, he wasn't exactly sure on the topic of her age time. She's never specified that exact age when he started to spy on them.
"I'm 20 years old, but in reality I would be 6 feet under," She said with a little chuckle towards herself. It wasn't that funny but she needed something to lighten up the mood. "I was born and died in the 1700s, darling. Technically died in 1713, but who's counting?"
That left Kai a little surprised and he didn't have words for a second. He was expecting her to say that she's had work done or something, not that she died and came back to life. After all, she was very beautiful for. a girl who just came back to life a couple of months ago. Shame he wasn't into the whole necrophilia thing.
"What happened? Cat got your tongue?" She looked at him to see his shocked face and had to refrain herself from laughing.
She wasn't used to this reaction as Damon and Bonnie were cool about it. And it wasn't like she meet more than 3 people to see different opinions about her age. That got her thinking to what other people would think of it.
"No, no, just a little turned off right now," Kai said like it was a struggle as he himself wasn't trying to burst out laughing. He wasn't mean, just a sociopath. "I was expecting something way more different to be honest."
Abigail went quiet after that, not wanting to entertain this conversation anymore. The 'turned off' comment hurt her feelings a little and the last thing she needed were even more insults. Especially from someone who she found highly attractive, not that she would admit to it out loud.
However, a few seconds later, her stomach began to grumble, quite loudly at that. She then realized that she didn't eat the whole day and cursed under her breath. Damon always made her meals and since she didn't know how to cook, she was practically going to have to starve until morning. Abigail really needed to learn how to cook now that she found the extra time.
"You know, if you untie me I could make you something. I'm a pretty handy chef, and I'm not saying that because I'm narcissistic," Kai offered with a little charming smile her way, motioning at his hands.
"And let you loose so you could possibly kill me and my friends? Yeah, no," She scoffed with a head shake and went back to reading about Adolf Hitler. Whoever this guy was, he seemed like he had a lot of anger issues. "Thanks fo the offer, though, pretty boy."
"Tell you what. I'll let you tie me up again after I'm done, it could be our little secret," He said with a suggestive smirk when she looked back at him, sending her a wink when she made eye contact with him.
Her eyes widened a little to her disgust, but she was hungry. Could she trust him, though? If he tried any funny business, she promised herself to make his death quick and painless.
"Fine, but you're getting tied up right after, okay?" She sighed and got up, pointing a finger at him like some parent being strict towards their kid.
He only nodded while his smirk rose into a grin, "Is that a threat or a promise, Abby?"
She didn't answer and instead began to loosen the grips of the rope before they all came off. He rubbed them a bit before getting up, proving to be taller than he looked sitting down. She was a little taken back, actually.
He noticed this and that got him smiling before he passed her, making his way into the kitchen. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding in and followed him, being extremely cautious.
She took a seat at the table and watched as he was swiftly moving around to get the things he needed. Every little thing he did, she watched. It wasn't creepy or awkward to both of them because it was kind of her job at the moment and she didn't want to die again.
"So, how did you die?" Kai asked her randomly as he was searched for butter before finding it behind a used blood bag. It shouldn't be funny, but it was.
"A monster killed me," She answered back without telling the full story. Technically, she wasn't lying, she just wasn't telling the whole truth. A monster who was disguised as her brother ripped her heart out, both literal and emotionally.
"Yeah, your brother. So i've heard," Kai responded nodding his head, "That seems to be what everyone thinks about brothers, though, right? That we hate our siblings and want them to die painfully? Let me guess, your brother was the black sheep?"
"No, actually," She answered back whilst getting. a bit defensive, "He was very much loved within the family and highly respected. He was just a jealous and manipulative bastard."
"It sounds like he and I would've made great friends," Kai commented, taking a glance at Abigail who only rolled her eyes at him.
They both went quiet again and she couldn't say that she missed his talking. Whatever came out of his mouth was just random, stupid things that Abigail didn't want to bother herself with. She just watched whatever he was doing, but she did see a pack of noodles come out so she guessed it was pasta.
The girl wasn't a fan of it, if she was being honest. Damon once tried to make pasta for dinner and it went a little terribly.
"Drain the water out!" Bonnie yelled at Damon, too busy making the sauce to do it.
Damon looked everywhere to find the drainer but couldn't find it. So, he picked up the pot that was currently boiling to the point of spillage and just dumped it all in the sink. Abigail and Bonnie looked at him with grossed out faces as he picked the noodles up and dumped it back into the pot.
He turned around and saw their faces, completely unaware how unsanitary that was. "What? I improvised."
"I had the drainer, idiot," Abigail sighed as she held up what she was holding whilst shaking her head, "And you guys say i'm the stupid one here."
Long story short, the noodles tasted like dish soap and not even the garlicky tomato sauce could wash that out. One of the worst meals of her existence.
Out of the blue, Kai started talking again. This time he held the giant knife in hand as he was cutting up garlic. "So, I'm just curious as to why you trust me right now."
"I don't, that's why I'm watching every little thing you do," Abigail said matter-of-factly with a sarcastic grin, wondering where this was going.
"If I wanted, really though, I could just throw this in your jugular," Kai taunted before holding the knife up, acting as if he was aiming at her throat. "Killing you on the spot."
Was this some joke? He couldn't kill her even if he tried, seeing as he had no magic abilities or else this would be going a different way. He called her weak when in fact he was really the weak one in this situation. She wondered if he was delusional, really.
But this was very amusing so far. The whole back and forth thing, the intimidation. She liked it.
"And if you did, great, you killed me. But then you'll have to deal with an angry witch and one pissed off vampire," She said before leaning herself on the counter to get a bit closer to him before whispering, "You wouldn't want 2/4 of the population to die, would you?"
She used the inspiration to what he said before about not being a monster and killing Damon. Let's just say this girl had a gift for turning people against their own words.
Kai only stared back at her, silently applauding her answer as he went back to doing his thing. She wanted to know what he was thinking, but not even a vampire can do such a thing to other supernatural. She was just curious as to why he even brought that up.
He was done after 30 more minutes and soon enough was placing a plate in front of her. It was just a plate of noodles. Nothing else, just noodles and sauce. She looked at him like there had to be some joke. Not even some bread to go with it or something? What was the whole point of untying him then?"
"What?" Kai asked her acting completely oblivious, looking back at her with an innocent stare, "There are starving kids in Africa, Abigail. I made you spaghetti. Bon appetite."
"If this is not at least the bit appetizing, I'm breaking your hand again," Abigail warned him as he took her fork and twirled it in the pasta, getting a mouthful.
He didn't say anything and just stared at her like he was waiting for something. She sighed and ate the bit she scooped...and it was perfect. She couldn't help but let out a little pleasurable moan as she chewed on it. That sure got Kai smiling.
"I'll take that apology now," Kai teased with a playful smirk before sitting next to her. "Maybe i'll even let you tie me up for the fun of it."
Abigail ignored him as she started to eat more before stuffing her mouth eventually. She wasn't embarrassed or anything to do so, either, as she didn't care what he thought. It's funny because her mother would be angry with her when she would eat too fast.
She wonders how her family is doing; wherever they are now.
"This was way better than dish soap pasta," She said with a little giggle, taking a little break from over feeding herself.
"It's like the saying goes. One way into a person heart is through their stomachs," He shrugged, being a bit cocky but then realized that's probably not how the saying goes, "or whatever, I don't care.
"Hate to say this, but you gotta get tied up again," She started after finishing her plate and getting up, putting it in the sink. Before she can turn around, she felt something press up again the side of her stomach.
Kai was standing behind her with the knife. She scoffed a bit to herself, not believing she actually trusted this man. And the fact that he thought he could take her on.
"Yeah, I don't think so," He said menacingly, twisting the knife around like he was teasing her.
"You really think you could take me on?" Abigail asked suspiciously, her head slightly moving to the side.
"Worth a shot."
"Motus," Abigail said loudly making his eyes widen before he went flying back. She turned around and picked up the knife he dropped and walked over to the doorframe to where he laid.
"You're getting back into that chair, whether it's your way or mine," She said with an intimidating glare, not afraid to make a ruckus anymore. "Your pick."
"Hey, hey, I was just testing to see if your magic was legit. I lay corrected," Kai surrendered before getting up and walking back to the chair, sitting down and putting his hands out to be tied.
She followed him and made sure to tie them with a tight grip so it hurts him.
"Woah, at least buy me dinner first," He playfully said with a little smirk, "Do you always tie up your men after they do something nice for you? Kind of hot. What else do you do to them? My imagination only goes so far, why don't you show me?"
She continued to ignore him and went back to her book, finishing the chapter about the 1940s and now reading about other wars and social history. He complied to being quiet and they both didn't say another word until the next morning.
