The following day came quickly and her friends had left even quicker. They stopped by her room to say their goodbyes, assuming that they were leaving today, but she wouldn't budge. Damon even offered to make one last pancake breakfast for her before he left and against her 'no's he still did it anyway.

The only time she opened the door was when Damon gave her the plate and she closed it immediately again.

Of course, the sociopath dropped by a couple times. Kai kept urging her to get out the room and join them, like yesterday never happened. The second time he came, he was threatening that he would break down the door. That never happened either as she used her magic to make him fall down the stairs; when she did, he just chuckled and got up, finally leaving her alone.

Now, the house was empty and Abigail sat alone in the infamous Stefan Salvatore room, playing with a half-eaten pancake while staring out the window. She saw them leave somewhere in the forest, Damon with a bottle in his hand and shovel in the other.

Bonnie had looked up and noticed the girl staring before putting up her hand, giving a small wave. The Bennett witch didn't like how she was so willing to let her pride come in front of her being free again after many years, but she understood too well. The only reason she was helping Kai was because there was a chance they could leave without him.

Abigail waved back a bit and felt the corners of her mouth rise, a smile forming on her face. In truth, she was sad to see them leave. But this wasn't the first time someone close to her left and she never saw them again.

She started to remember when they first met; here, in the prison world. Damon pinned her against a tree and she tried to fry his brain, but the only thing that came out of that was disappointment. Then Bonnie had to stop him from killing her and they all became friends after that.

Then her mind started to race with thoughts of Violet, and how they first met.

December 23rd, 1712
night of the Christmas ball

Abigail was outside the doors that held the festivity. After much searching around in her room, she and her mother finally found the perfect dress to wear. It was a turquoise ball gown with ruffles at the end of the sleeves, sprinkles of 'gold' on the skirt as well as the ruffles.

This was possibly going to be the best or worst day of her life. But she had this gut feeling, like something was bound to happen. She just didn't know what type of event that will occur to make her feeling true.

She took a deep breath and nodded at the man guarding the door. It was only her at the ball as the triplets were too ill behaved and if mother didn't go, father didn't. Raul simply wasn't interested in things like that and decided to spend time in his room; what he does in there will forever be a mystery to her.

The man opened the door and curtsied a nod in her direction, forcing her to return the act with a smile. Abigail walked in and was immediately in the crowd of the community. There weren't a lot of people of her village, but it seems that word got out and now people from other villages were pouring in.

Oh well, more hope for her in soulmate wise.

She looked around and noticed a group of ladies, including two men, around the table filled with delicious desserts and foods. They must have been the coven that was visiting; it was like a sense.

The women were a beautiful sight as well as the men. Though, there was one beauty that stood out amongst the others. She had hair that resembled a burning fire that was let loose with tight curls. Her makeup stood very unnoticeable, but it made her features become more visible and posed a threat to the fairest of ladies at the ball.

Her gown was well fitted and showed off her natural figure. It was very clear that the girl wasn't wearing a corset, nor did she need one. Her waist was slim and everything popped out in all the right places.

Abigail noticed that the girl was now staring back at her with a soft smile, causing for the girl to look away embarrassingly. That surely caused the redhead to let out a giggle at her admirer, as she had just been caught.

Abigail directed her eyes anyway else but the girl. A soft blush was now placed upon her cheeks and she made eyes with a gentleman. He seemed very lonely and could do with slight banter, so she began to make her way.

But a hand placed upon her shoulder stopped her from doing so. The touch was delicate and gentle, causing for Abigail to turn her attention to the person for the hand belonged. In front of her, to her surprise, was the lady with beautiful red hair.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, admirer," She introduced herself with a playful, teasing smile as she took her hand away and curtsied, "I'm Violet Montella."

The blush from Abigails cheeks never left, instead becoming more apparent. She made a curtsy back, bowing her head as she did, "Abigail Winston."

"I couldn't help but notice, Abigail, your stares from afar," Violet teased, the smile on her face making Abigail feel even more flushed.

"I'm very sorry if it displeased you, Violet. It's just," Abigail trailed off with a slight embarrassed chuckle, "You're very beautiful."

Violets smile increased at the compliment and she turned to look at her group before back at Abigail. A thought appeared in her head as he stared the girl down, as she was just a slight bit taller.

"Say, why don't explore this ball together?" Violet suggested with a little shrug, folding her arms together in a mannered and pleased way.

Abigail was taken back by the girls request, but something was different by the way she felt. Usually when talking to girls, Abigail was never this flushed and filled with excitement. She was always calm and collected with slight humor. But Violet was surely making sure that wasn't true in this case.

"O-Of course," Abigail nervously spoke with a little nod and stepped aside for room for Violet to join her side. They both began to stride along around the room.

"I'm judging by the way you radiate power that you're a witch, yes?" Violet asked with her voice going a little lower so no one heard, making sure to scope out the room. She was very much amused and found the girls company peaceful.

Abigail smiled at the 'radiate power' part and nodded her head, "You are correct. I understand that you're from a coven as well, I've heard rumors that you would be here tonight."

"The Gemini Coven, yes," Violet giggles and looked back at her, a calm expression coming over her. "I could tell we're going to get along just fine, admirer."

Abigail was pulled out of her thoughts by a little voice just screaming at her that something was wrong. It was her gut feeling she had before her brothers emerged from the woods screaming. She bit her lip nervously before finally deciding to act upon it. She got up and ran out of the room.

I'm not going to make the same mistake again, she thought to herself before opening the door and running out the house.

She started to run in the woods, trying to find Bonnie and Damon. This wasn't going to go down like the last time where something went wrong and she didn't act upon it sooner. She was proclaimed guardian of her family; that now included Bonnie and Damon.

After running for about a few minutes, Abigail finally found an opening to a cave where she assumed they all were. She jumped in and her stomach dropped. After wondering for another five seconds, she was faced with Bonnie on the floor, bleeding out, as Kai and Damon were in the midst of fighting. Kai stuck an arrow into Damon's chest as they wrestled.

"Bonnie, get out of here!" Damon yelled to the girl, in pain as an arrow was nearly piercing his heart.

"I'm not gonna make it," Bonnie whispered as she held her stomach that was losing blood by the minute.

Abigail raised both hands, one aiming at Bonnie and the other one aiming at the two boys. "Motus!"

Kai was thrown off of Damon magically, landing on the opposite side of the cave while Bonnie was dragged to the center along with Damon. They all shared their smiles before she made the ascendant fly into Damon's hand as the other was holding onto Bonnie for support.

Kai realized what she was doing and tried to grab her, to at least absorb some of her magic before they got away. Abigail was one step ahead of him, though. Her other hand raised towards him and he suddenly stopped in his place, unable to move.

"Let me go!" Kai yelled at her with anger apparent on face, straining to move from his position.

"Abigail hurry up!" Damon yelled out, watching her with uneasy eyes, thinking that she was going to be tagging along.

"Don't do anything stupid when you get back, Damon," Abigail said calmly with light tears bricking her eyes. She looked at Bonnie and smiled, "I'm going to miss you both."

Before they could ask what was going on, they were both being sucked up into the sky with the ascendant. Kai watched with anger and screamed, obviously not thrilled with how she ruined his plans.

The ascendant dropped down into tiny bits and pieces landing all over the place. She stopped using her magic and took a breath as Kai ran over to it, on his knees as he was holding the parts.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me!" Kai yelled out and looked at her with narrowed eyes. There was no point making her do the spell as she didn't know it and if he tried getting up to grab her she'll simply retaliate.

"What's wrong, Kai?" Abigail asked teasingly before bending down to get to his level from where she was standing, "Is something troubling you?"

"You're going to be sorry for that," Kai said with a dark glare as he gritted his teeth.

"No. I'm not," She shook her head with a smile as she lifted up her hand again, this time at the ascendant. All the pieces started to float into the air and then...

They were all gone.

Kai looked around in disbelief, trying to find what she did with them. "What did you just do? Abigail, what did you just do?!"

"I simple spell I learned from a powerful witch long ago," Abigail chuckled as she watched him frantically look around, "She was the former leader of the Gemini Coven, the one you want to oh so badly give excruciating deaths to. I sent the ascendant to a place you'll never find and to make sure you don't, I bound it with a cloaking spell. Only I know where it is and if you need that to escape, you're not gonna lay a precious finger on my body."

Kai began to laugh as he stopped looking and gave up. He slowly rose to his feet and looked at the smug look across her face, "Doesn't mean I can't torture you like Damon was going to do to me."

"Correct, but if you hurt me I won't ever tell you where the ascendant is," Abigail shrugged and crossed her arms, remembering what he said to Damon just yesterday, "What kind of person needs that explained to them?"

Kai stared at her and clenched his jaw, not seeing an easy way where he wins in this situation. Knowing she won in the situation, Abigail began to make her way out of the cave and into the wilderness. She let out a breath as she stared at the trees, the smile never leaving her face.

"You're going to be a real pain in my ass, Gailly," She heard Kai mutter as he walked past her with his crossbow and smirked to herself before following him, making sure he isn't up to any funny business.

"Dito, Kai Parker."
