Though Soren is a warlock of Rindrevom, he does not worship any god. He respects them, but that's the extent of it.

The general faceclaim I had in mind for Soren is Oliver Jackson-Cohen in the Emerald City. He's a tall man-around six feet, six inches (roughly two hundred centimeters) with a muscular build. His hair is cropped close to his head, and he's stuck in a limbo between stubble and an actual beard. He has a decent about of functional muscle and a bit of body fat, making him look relatively soft. While wearing his glamour, he has minimal scarring on his face and down his body. Though the scars on his face don't stand out, the gaps in body hair along his shoulders and chest only serve to highlight the scars on his body. He dresses warmly and functionally, never usually opting for more than a simple tunic, cloak, pants, and boots.
As mentioned earlier, Soren wears a glamour, and without it is an almost horrifying sight. The headmaster, who made the glamour, is the only one at Laeliths who has seen what he looks like without it.

๐๐„๐‘๐’๐Ž๐๐€๐‹๐ˆ๐“๐˜ -
Soren is a quiet man, seldom speaking unless he deems it necessary (though from time to time he may crack a joke). He has a deadpan nature when he does speak, and he often appears unimpressed or disinterested, even if he isn't. Even when he was a child, he was seen as mature and practical. He's driven largely by his own sense of morality and is highly conscientious, and he works hard to accomplish what is expected of him. That being said, he's extremely practical and likes to think things through before doing anything. Soren isn't exactly the smartest, but he puts forth the time and effort and has (somewhat of) a heart of gold.

Soren is a solemn man, and he doesn't outwardly express emotion that well. Regardless of how he feels, he's long since learned to keep an even face that betrays nothing to outsiders.

Soren tends to be quite brash and doesn't consider the emotional impact of his actions.

Though his strength and size give him benefits, they limit him as well. He's easily noticeable no matter where he goes and can be slow at times.

Growing up, Soren was a proud, practical child, and everyone expected him to be a paladin. He did not disappoint, going to school among other paladins and fighters, eventually taking the Oath of Devotion. Considered among the top of his class, Soren was expected to do great things.
Unfortunately, everything would quickly fall apart for him. He and a few friends made the mistake of taking on a quest too soon after graduation. They came across a necromancer wishing to usurp Rindrevom, and the resulting battle was devastating. His friends were decimated, and Soren was left for dead. However, Rindrevom had pity on him and admired his bravery in their honor, so he healed him (as best as they could). In exchange for his life, Soren became bound to Rindrevom, a warlock, for the rest of his days. On the palm of his left hand, he has the crest of Rindrevom branded as a sign of their deal: a bird in flight within two solid rings.
Soren's family, comprised of fighters and paladins, was horrified that their son became a warlock (regardless of whether he wanted to be one) and wanted nothing to do with him. For many years, he wandered Nakari, taking out rogue necromancers who sought the demise of Rindrevom.
Eventually, he would be approached by the headmaster of Laeliths, Ewyn Lunvagran, who would offer him a position at the institute. After some deliberation, Soren agreed under the condition that he could still act under his patron's wishes, who would send canary missives with tasks.

Kasia Ware (she/her), a retired paladin who also took the Oath of Devotion, was furious when Soren returned from his failed quest. When she saw the mark of Rindrevom and found out he had bound his life to them as a warlock, she told him to leave and never return.

Cassius Ware (he/him) is a stern man, formerly a knight of the Ashanen kingdom. Though he originally wanted to hear Soren out when he returned with the scar and mark of Rindrevom, he eventually went along with his wife.

Cyrus Ware (they/them) is Soren's younger sibling by five years and the only member of his family he keeps in contact with. They're traveling on their own as a bard (much to their parent's disappointment), finding joy in spreading songs and stories.

Soren is silent by nature, which does not change with his loved ones. I'm firmly of the belief that you don't have one love language but rather ranges of all of them, and Soren falls into that. He especially prefers quality time (parallel play specifically) and physical touch among his favorite people; something as simple as sharing space and existing with those he loves is more than enough for him. He also makes an effort to help them where they need it-not to appear overbearing but to show that he is there for them should they need it. He sees loved ones as equals and values their opinion in any decision being made.

The glow of numerous candles decorates the edges of the room-both scented and not (he's grown partial to this rosemary and chamomile scent he found in a shop once). The desks are all wood with a dark stain, making the grain visible against the wood itself. Each chair is a simple wooden one with a deep green cushion on the seat and back. All the windows in his classroom are open, though the majority of the sunlight is blotted out by dark green velvet curtains.

+ Oathbreaker was a cruel nickname from his hometown after he returned as a warlock. Even though he didn't break his paladin oath, the name caught on because of how enraged they were.
+ He used to take care of the stray animals in the woods near his parents' home as a child. As an adult, he sets out food for the animals on his office's windowsill.
+ Woodcarving is a hobby he picked up as he recovered from his near-fatal mission, and he often carves small animals as tokens for his friends.
+ Soren is autistic. He wasn't especially observant as a child and had significant difficulties regarding the body language and tone of others. He still struggles with it occasionally but has learned via watching his parents. Some days, he goes completely nonverbal, only making various noises and hand gestures.
