Mina's eyes fluttered open to the sunlight grazing her skin through the open window. She groaned to herself as she sat up, one eye open to adjust to the sudden brightness, to pull the curtains inwards. Should've closed these drapes last night, she thought to herself.
She groaned some more. Even the voice inside her head was groggy and hoarse - just like her voice in the morning.
But she was barely able to lift her back from the bed, and looked over her shoulder to find an arm wrapped tightly around her waist. She smiled, both her eyes fluttering, as she gave one quick jolt on the curtains, closing them, and plopping herself back on the bed, facing the arm's owner in the dim room.
Youngjae was still fast asleep, judging from the way Mina felt his steady breathing. He looked peaceful, and it gave her comfort to see him like this, since he's been so busy lately.
TWICE had just finished promotions for their recent comeback, which meant they had time for themselves, like a few weeks off. GOT7, however, was preparing for another comeback, which meant countless hours of work to be done before the actual date: recording the album, filming the teasers, filming the music video, not to mention promotions coming up after everything, and traveling everywhere to promote and meet fans. There was so much to do, so Youngjae rarely went home, because work always got him busy until nighttime. He always apologized, but Mina always understood - she was an idol herself, and she knew it wasn't easy.
But no matter how busy he was, Youngjae never missed out on an opportunity to come home to her, even if it meant coming home at the dead hours of night, late and tired. He always thanked her for her patience, and Mina was just happy to have him with her either way.
She felt his soft breaths tingle her collarbones. Youngjae still had his arms wrapped around her waist, leaving them only centimeters apart. Mina smiled again at how adorable he looked when he was asleep. He looked clueless and innocent and peaceful, like a small child.
She furrowed her eyebrows. I didn't even realize that he had come home last night, she thought to herself. It must have been really late when he arrived.
She wrapped her arms around him gently, brushing his dyed blonde hair with her fingers. She brushed away a few strands of his hair away from his face, and gingerly placed her fingertips on his delicate features - the edges of his eyes, the tip of his nose, his corners of his pink lips. It amazed Mina how peaceful he looked, and it warmed her heart so much.
Suddenly, she felt the hands on her waist move, and looked at Youngjae, who was stirring awake, and she never took her gaze away from him. One of his eyes sleepily popped open, squinting to adjust to the light, and sees her, and a smile appears on his face as he closed the same eye again.
"Good morning," Mina whispered, brushing her thumb against his cheek. Youngjae snuggled into her neck further.
"Good morning, my Mina-ri," he muttered against her neck with his hoarse morning voice, which Mina found cute, not to mention his bedhead.
"What time did you come home last night, jagi?" she curiously asked, her voice still sort of hushed. "I didn't even know you've arrived."
Youngjae propped his head up to look at her, and Mina looked down at him. "Well, what time is it now?"
Mina reached for her phone on the bedside dresser and checked it for the time. "A few minutes past nine," she stated, and put her phone down to look at him, waiting for an answer.
"Then three hours ago," he said, rubbing one of his eyes while yawning.
Mina's eyes widened. "Oh my goodness, you came home at six in the morning?" She tightened her embrace around him. "Oh my, go back to sleep, Jae, we'll talk later." He must've been so tired; she immediately regretted playing with his face to wake him up.
But Youngjae didn't want to. "No, no," he said, stretching a bit before clutching her waist again, "I want to be with you."
"You are with me, jagi, you're so close to me," Mina said softly, rubbing his back. "Just go and sleep again, okay, we can always talk later."
"But I want to talk to you now," he whined sleepily, his eyes fluttering in her direction. He pulled her even closer than before and kissed her forehead deeply. "I'll sleep later."
"Youngjae," Mina said, taking a whiff of his cologne from his plain white shirt, "please rest."
"I don't want to," he said, brushing her hair away from her face, staring deeply at her eyes. "I haven't seen you in almost three weeks, Mina, and I won't waste my time sleeping."
"It's only been two weeks, jagi."
"Two weeks away from you is ten years in Youngjae time," he retorted. Mina couldn't help but smile at his comment. "So you know what I'm going to do?"
"What?" Mina asked, her voice in a hushed tone again, anticipating what he was going to say.
"I'm going to shower you with all of the kisses I should've given you during those two weeks that I didn't come home." And without any warning, he tightened his grip around her waist, gave a violent "Fire away!", and started attacking her with kisses from his pouty lips. He kissed her everywhere: her nose, her eyes, her lips, her cheeks, her jawline, even on her collarbone, which was exposed because of the big shirt she wore to sleep. He did this randomly and adorably fast.
Mina, on the other hand, couldn't escape his tight grip, even though she tried constantly to push him away. He would always pull her back in. She giggled non-stop at the kisses he left on her face, crying out a few times. "Ya! Yo-Choi Youngjae! Hajima!" She felt her eyes water because of his tickling kisses. "Stop it, you're tickling me!"
"I haven't even reached the halfway mark yet!" Youngjae continued to kiss her face everywhere, and she continued to laugh non-stop, until he got tired and buried his face on her neck again.
"I'm sorry I haven't been able to see you in so long, my Mina-ri," he said. "You know how comebacks work, they're very stressful."
"Aish, I told you a million times never to apologize, oppa," she said, flipping them both over so he was now resting on his back, and her arms were now resting on his chest. "I'm just glad you're here."
Youngjae gave her a sweet smile, and kissed her. He pulled away, and seemed to be thinking. "Alright," he said, "what do you want to do today?"
Mina bit her lip for a moment. This was the first day of Youngjae's one week vacation, the last of which he would spend with her before their promotions began. What should they do to make this last? She thought of a lot of things and had many ideas at that moment, but decided to go with what she didn't have in mind.
"Nothing," she decided, laying on his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat.
Youngjae raised an eyebrow. "Nothing? You want to do nothing today?"
"Yeah, I'd rather be here with you than go anywhere else," she stated simply, playing with his fingers. "I just want to be close to you, I've missed you."
The boy gave a flustered chuckle. "Alright, I guess we can talk then," he said, scooting so he could face her and stare at her bare face as they talked. Mina smiled, which made him smile, too.
And they did talk, and they got so lost in each other's stories and jokes. Mina loved listening to Youngjae, who told her about Bambam's crazy antics with girls, to Jackson's usual idiocy in the practice room, to how they would wake up JB in the morning ("Trust me, a frying pan works just as good as an alarm clock."), to the hair colors he was planning to get for this comeback. He even gave Mina spoilers about their new concept and new music video.
"So, all of you are trying to save Jinyoung oppa, basically."
"Yeah, we die for him in the end."
"Didn't you die during the Turbulence trailer? Or was that different?"
"Oh, that was different."
"I still don't get why there were plants in the car."
"I didn't either, but there were plants inside the glass box hyung was in, so I guess it made sense."
It wasn't until Mina sat up that they actually stopped their lovely conversation, as the girl felt hunger crawl its way up. "Want some breakfast? Aren't you hungry?"
"You mean 'lunch'?" Youngjae retorted, and Mina glanced at her phone. 11:56 am. They've been talking for almost three hours already, and not once did they even think of making themselves breakfast.
"Oh my," Mina chuckled. "What do you want, then?" she asked him, scooting to remove herself from the bed. "I'll cook whatever you want, since you haven't been home in a while."
Youngjae sat up, and scratched his head, thinking. Then, he looked up at her with a smirk on his face. "I want you, Mina."
Mina raised an eyebrow. "I'm not on the menu, oppa," she said, sitting on his lap. "Besides, I'd probably taste horrible when cooked."
Youngjae laughed at her comment, and Mina gave a slight giggle as well. "No, that's not what I meant," he said, laying his head on her chest. "I missed you, jagi."
"And my boobs are going to make everything feel better?"
"Partly."
"Youngjae oppa," she said, chuckling, giving his arm a light slap.
"I'm kidding," admitted Youngjae. "Just stay here with me, I want to be with you."
"But I'm hungry, oppa," Mina said, pouting.
"But I missed you," Youngjae pouted back at her. "And I'm going to be away again soon, and I'm going to miss you again." He wrapped his arms around her waist. "Can't you stay with me a little bit longer?"
"But how will we eat?" she asked him.
"We'll get some food later," he tried to convince her. "My treat."
"I don't know..." said Mina jokingly. "I'm really hungry right now."
"Mina-ri..." Youngjae pouted again, but this time it was a little exaggerated, and it made her chuckle.
"Fine," she finally said, and Youngjae scooted excitedly back into the bed, Mina following in behind him. He wrapped her arms around her, entangled his legs with hers, and kissed her forehead, feeling the warmth of the bed soothingly envelop them again.
"Oppa?" Mina spoke up a few moments later, looking up at Youngjae, who looked down at her. He hummed. "Please sing for me?"
Youngjae smiled. He loved it when he sang to Mina; it made him feel like he was something so special to her, and it was the best feeling.
"Sure thing, jagi," he said. "Any song requests?"
Mina thought for a minute. "Sing one of ours," she said, and he could feel her smile.
Youngjae smiled as well, and took a deep breath, before thinking of a soothing song to sing to her.
"Naega geudael eolmana manhi wonhaneunji...Susjaro nae mameul jeoldae sel suneun eopsneun geol..."
And they peacefully stayed with each other, Youngjae's angelic voice filling the room, leaving Mina awestruck and relaxed by how amazing love could be - you could skip breakfast just for someone.
