Nayeon groaned as she sat up. She felt like poop, and she looked like poop. She didn't normally feel this way; being TWICE's bright energy, she usually feels great, even if she just woke up. But today was just not one of those great days, and she felt everything already getting worse by the minute.
It was that time of the month again, she thought. She hated it when this happens, because she felt absolutely terrible, although it was completely normal. She figured the next five days would be hell, so she made sure to cancel all plans.
She stood up and checked her white sheets for any stains, since she didn't trust her body whenever she had to sleep on her period. She sighed of utter relief to find her squeaky clean sheets still squeaky clean, though a bit muffled and messy, and then walked into the bathroom to freshen herself up a bit, even if she planned on being ugly for the rest of the day.
As she stepped out of the bathroom and into the bedroom, she suddenly felt her hands shiver. It was a little breezy outside, but it was just a normal Saturday morning breeze. Nayeon thought her body was just so vulnerable when she had her period, and it made her sick, so she grabbed the comforter from her bed and wrapped it around her shoulders, feeling the warmth envelope her slowly.
She made her way to the living room's couch and slumped her body on top of it, grabbing the remote control after to turn on the TV. She figured she should eat breakfast first; but she was too tired to get up, even if she did just wake up. So she just lied there until, she figured, she felt like getting up.
A few moments later, Jihyo and Dahyun emerged from their bedroom. Jihyo's big eyes grew even larger when she saw the older slumped on the couch in a funny position. "Unnie, are you okay?"
Nayeon shot Jihyo a tired look. "I've been cursed, Jihyo," she muttered dramatically. "Cursed by a woman named Eve to live with this pain forever." Dahyun chuckled at her comment as they approached her, Jihyo rummaging her purse for her keys.
"You're on your period, unnie, it's not going to kill you," said Jihyo. Dahyun sat on the chair beside the couch, and glued her eyes to the television. Nayeon observed the both of them. They were wearing cute attires; they were going out.
"Going out, I see," said Nayeon, looking up at Jihyo, who looked at her as well.
"Yeah, we're going to go see a movie," replied Dahyun in an excited voice.
"Really? What movie?"
"That one called 'Train to Busan'. I heard it's good." Dahyun stood up. "Wanna come with us, unnie?"
Nayeon stuck her tongue out and crinkled her nose in response. "I don't need to see a zombie movie, Dahyun-ah, I already have one going on in my pants." Dahyun and Jihyo burst out laughing at her comment, but Nayeon just kept a straight face.
"Alright, well, suit yourself," said Jihyo. "Do you want us to get anything for you while we're out?"
"I want you to leave the house so I can have my peace and quiet," replied Nayeon, burying her face in her hoodie.
"Alright, Grandma," said Jihyo as they walked to the door. "Just text me if something goes wrong, we'll be back later." They exited their dorm, and Nayeon just looked at them. Even if she was two years older than Jihyo, that kid cared so much and she appreciated it.
Then, she listened to the crazy silence that echoed through their dorm.
It was usually noisy when the other members are around, but they weren't, and Nayeon figured they knew she was on her period. See, whenever it was Nayeon's time of the month, she got a little more whinier and more unmanageable than usual. She was moody and incessantly hard to deal with, so every time she would get her period, the other members suddenly have plans - Sana had a hair appointment, Mina had to go buy something for her mom, Momo had to go shopping. Even Jeongyeon, who was closest to Nayeon, always excused herself to go grocery shopping. Tzuyu always told her she would meet with a cousin - an alibi which she never manages to replace.
Nayeon just sighed. At least it's quiet, she said to herself. You can be miserable in peace.
Then, as if on cue, her phone started ringing. And her phone was still inside her bedroom.
Nayeon groaned and moaned as she wrapped the comforter around her again and forced herself to get up and trudge back into her room, where she clutched the ringing phone to check who was calling. It was Jinyoung.
She clicked her tongue. She thought Jinyoung was busy for another week, so it was a surprise that he was calling her, because usually she had to call first. And even though they've done numerous things in their relationship, he hasn't dealt with a Nayeon on her period yet, and it could go horribly wrong.
"Yeoboseyo?" She placed the phone to her ear as she walked back to the couch.
"Annyeong, Nayeon-ie," Jinyoung's angelic voice cooed on the other end of the line.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"Well, someone's in the mood for a fresh attitude," he retorts.
"Yeah, it's not the best of days, Jinyoung. I thought you were busy for another week." GOT7 was preparing for another comeback, which meant busier times for the boys, including Jinyoung.
"I was, but I was able to record my parts for the album first, and I've just finished today," he said. "So, I'm coming over."
Nayeon's eyes enlarged with horror. She had to pinch herself to keep herself from screaming. "Wh-No! Y-You can't come over," she stuttered.
"Why not? I want to see my jagi," he replied, and Nayeon could feel him pout on the other end of the line.
"Yeah, well, the dorm is a little messy, like girl stuff everywhere," she lied. "So you can't come."
"Aish, I live with five pigs and Youngjae, Nayeon, I can handle a mess or two."
"Oppa, seriously, you can't come over!"
"I'm already on my way, jagi."
"Oppa!" Nayeon was already pacing back and forth.
"What?"
"Please don't come over!"
"Why not? What's wrong?"
"Because," Nayeon sighed. "I'm on my period."
Jinyoung gave a cheeky giggle at the other end. "That's nothing to worry about, Nayeon-ie."
"But-but it's embarrassing."
"Don't be embarrassed, babe, it's just me. I'll be over in fifteen minutes, okay?"
"Okay, I guess," Nayeon said in defeat, slumping on the couch.
"Alright, see you soon." He ended the call.
Nayeon laid her head back on the couch and sighed deeply. Jinyoung was so sweet and so perfect, and now he was about to see this side of her - the whiny, moody, period-stricken Nayeon, who is too lazy to even make herself breakfast.
She went back to watching TV as she anticipated Jinyoung's arrival. She was getting uncomfortable, so she raised her legs up and lowered her head a bit, and it worked for her. She looked weird, and when Jinyoung entered, looking fine in a tan coat, white sweater and jeans, he laughed at what she looked like.
"What?" asked Nayeon. "I was uncomfortable."
"Sure you were," he said as he walked over to give a quick peck on her forehead, before going to remove his coat and walked over to the coffee table with a paper bag in his hands.
"What are those, oppa?" Nayeon asked, sitting up. Jinyoung sat down and reached inside the bag.
He took out two boxes of tampons which, surprisingly, were the type Nayeon used. She was surprised, but she marveled at this. "You bought me tampons? Why would you do that?"
"Because you're on your period," said Jinyoung, giving her a 'what kind of question is that' look.
"How'd you know I used this kind?"
"I have two older sisters, Nayeon, they know what girls need," Jinyoung said with a smile, making the sides of his eyes crinkle. "I also bought you chai tea, because it helps you relax, and I got us a movie to watch."
"Really? What movie?"
"'Train to Busan'." Nayeon smiled and slumped back on the couch.
"You're too much, oppa."
"Don't you like too much?"
Nayeon gave Jinyoung a pout. "I guess it's kind of sweet."
"Anything for my jagi," he said, nearing her to give a quick peck on her lips. "I'm going to go brew this up, okay? You stay here and get comfy, I'll be back in a jiffy."
Nayeon laid back down again as Jinyoung worked in the kitchen to brew them both cups of tea. He hummed a cute little tune as he worked, which made Nayeon look at him constantly with a smile on her face, but would roll her eyes afterwards at how silly he looked.
Jinyoung was back in a few minutes, holding two cups of freshly brewed tea. Nayeon sat up to get one, and she drank the tea slowly, savoring it. It did help her relax, and it felt great.
As she drank, she saw Jinyoung staring at her, and she raised an eyebrow. "What?"
Jinyoung gave her a cheeky smile as he drank his tea. "Nothing, you're just so pretty."
"Jinyoung, I'm wearing zero makeup and I'm literally oozing out blood inside my pants. I do not look pretty today."
Jinyoung only laughed. "I don't date ugly girls, Nayeon."
"Then why are you dating me?"
"Because, I told you, you're pretty."
"I'm not."
"Yes, you are."
"No, Jinyoung. I look like a cow."
"A pretty cow."
"I'm not pretty, alright?" Nayeon rolled her eyes.
"Well, you are to me." He crinkled his eyes again as he places a finger on her nose and takes her empty cup from her, putting it gingerly on the sink.
"Alright, what else do you need?" he asked, placing his hands on his hips.
Nayeon though for a moment, and scooted away from her seat on the couch and tapped it, as if fluffing it, motioning for him to join her. Jinyoung chuckled and removed his shoes without hesitation, climbing on the couch with her. Nayeon instantly embraces him, but he gets back up again.
"Oh, wait, the movie," he said as he took the DVD case and popped it in by the TV. He ran back to Nayeon and climbed in again, the girl embracing her arms around his waist and falling to his chest. Jinyoung puts one hand around her waist and one hand on her head, and let both their legs entangle with each other.
Then, they watched the movie in silence.
About an hour into the movie, Nayeon felt her insides crumple. She was having a cramp, and it felt bad, so she couldn't help but tighten her grip around Jinyoung, who was under her, and bury her face in his neck.
"What's wrong, jagi? Are you okay?" He immediately tenses as she felt her grip on him, and sat up.
Nayeon managed a weak "cramp" and closed her eyes. Jinyoung then asked her where it hurt, and she pointed towards her stomach, and he placed a loving hand under her hoodie, rubbing her tummy in small circles. His hand felt warm, and it soothed her, lessening the pain she was feeling.
"Does that feel better?" he asked, kissing the side of her head.
"It does," Nayeon mutters. "Thanks, oppa." She felt him smile against the side of her head as she continued to watch the movie. Nayeon may have cried and sobbed a few times, since the movie was a little dramatic, but there was nothing that a few kisses and rubs from Jinyoung couldn't fix.
"Sorry we had to stay in today, oppa," Nayeon mumbled as she sniffled against Jinyoung's neck. "If only I felt better."
"Hey, hey, don't worry about it," Jinyoung says softly, kissing the side of her head. "There's no place I'd rather be, Nayeon-ie."
Nayeon smiled, and laid a gentle kiss on his lips.
"Wow, you're not grumpy anymore," Jinyoung joked.
"You made me feel all better," Nayeon smiled and kissed Jinyoung's nose. "Sorry about being grumpy."
"Don't be, you're really cute when you're all worked up and grumpy at little things." Jinyoung gave a light chuckle. "You should be on your period more often." Nayeon hit his arm playfully, and he chuckled again.
It went dark as they continued to watch. Jinyoung checked his watch. 10:48 pm. He carefully got up and looked at Nayeon, who was sleeping soundly on his chest, her breaths steady and peaceful. Jinyoung gave a silent smile, and adjusted her so that he could carry her. He then got up and carried her bridal style into her bedroom, where he laid her down gently on her bed and draped her comforter gently over her.
He was about to exit the room and call it a night when he heard Nayeon stir awake. "Where do you think you're going?" she asks in a groggy voice, barely even opening her eyes. Even when she was sleepy, she was sassy. She definitely was on her period.
"I'm going to sleep on the couch, jagi, this is your room." Jinyoung comes over and places a kiss on her forehead.
"Stay with me, oppa," she sleepily pleads. Jinyoung smiled at this.
"I can't, this is a girls' room, a boy isn't allowed in here."
"But what if I get a cramp again? Who's going to rub my tummy?" she asked. Jinyoung knew it was the sleep in her that was talking, and he fought back a laugh, but he decided not to fight it.
"Alright, I'll stay," he said, climbing inside the covers, laying down beside her. Nayeon automatically wraps her arms around him, and their legs entangle immediately.
Nayeon's steady breaths hit Jinyoung's lips as their faces were close together, and he felt himself dozing off as he admired her face, thinking of her roommate's reaction once she sees them in bed together.
