note: if you read the note (lol) you would know that i will be putting some bro-sis fics here, and here is one of them c: i actually see nayeon and jb as siblings, not because of their identical last names, i just have reasons, they just have this sibling feel. that's all!
recommend listening to the instrumental for extra feels!
plot: in which nayeon goes to his brother jaebum drunk because her boyfriend dumped her and she didn't have a ride home
type: bro/sis fluff
---
It was really late, and Jaebum could feel the drowsiness overcoming him: his eyelids getting droopier, and his head drooping to his side. He had a rough day, and this television break late at night was his only break. Soon enough, he was dozing off.
Then there was a knock on his door. And another.
Don't mind it, he thought to himself. Maybe if you don't respond, they'll think you're asleep.
Then there was another knock. But this time, a girl's voice came with it. "Y-Ya! Oppa! Open up!" Jaebum's eyes jolted open.
"Oppa! Come on! What's taking you so long?"
Jaebum closed his eyes and sighed deeply with pure annoyance. He was too tired for this right now. But he got up, flicked his living room lights on, and opened his door.
A girl of about twenty was sitting legs apart on his patio. She had the same black hair as him, and the same expression on her face. She clutched the sleeves of her coat with one hand and a water bottle on the other.
"Gwenchana (What's wrong)? What do you need, Nayeon-ah?" Jaebum asked her coldly yet sleepily. It was clear that he was getting tired of his little sister's antics.
Nayeon looked at him. Her make-up was crusty, like she had been crying, and her eyes were red. "He broke up with me, oppa." She started to tear up again.
Jaebum raised an eyebrow. "Who did?"
"Jackson did", she slurred, pouting, "and he's proud of it, too."
"And what does that have to do with you bothering me at this time?"
"I don't have a ride home." He remembered: Nayeon lived a few miles from his place.
"He broke up with you and then he ditched you?" Jaebum scoffed. "Some guy." He faced his sister. "There's no way you're sleeping here."
"Please, oppa." She sniffled. "I don't want to go home."
"That's your problem. You're a grown woman, Nayeon, you should be able to take care of yourself."
'C'mon, oppa! I won't be such a bother."
"Aish, we both know how that's going to end."
"Aw!" She hit her brother's arm. "Neomuhae! Why are you so mean to me?"
"Nayeon, it's one in the morning! I need to sleep!"
"Oppa, please." Nayeon started to tear up. She was crying now, howling even. Now he was afraid that she might wake up the neighbors.
Jaebum rolled his eyes and pulled her into a disgusted hug. So much for being a grown adult, sis. "C'mon, c'mon, Nayeon-ah, stop crying," he said as she cried her tainted tears on his beautiful shirt, which was now lost forever.
Then her stench hit him. "Are you drunk?" And, as if on cue, Nayeon jolted, let go of her brother's embrace, and ran to his brother's bathroom like there was no tomorrow. Jaebum was left standing there, clutching her water bottle. He uncapped it and smelled its contents.
Yup, he thought. She's drunk.
He made his way to his closed bathroom, where Nayeon was regurgitating everything. He opened the door, and saw his sister hurling in his toilet bowl, all while sobbing, which made it look worse than it actually was.
Jaebum, with a disgusted look on his face, went closer and held her hair for her. Nayeon went on for about ten minutes, crying corny statements about the Jackson guy as she puked. Things like "He told me he would never leave me," or "I really thought he was something special," to "I thought we were going to have kids some day." It was messed up, but like the great older brother he was (which sickened him) he put through it.
Nayeon slobbered all over her shirt, and he had to give her one of his own shirts and wait another ten minutes just for her to change into it. Then she cried again. "I look fat in this!"
"No, you don't," he replied monotonously.
"I do too! Oppa, I'm so fat!" Jaebum had to convince her again that she wasn't fat, and she even pulled her in front of the mirror to show him. She refused to drink water because she said it would make her even more bloated than before.
He led his sister to his couch after her unruly time in the bathroom, which Jaebum just managed to flush down. She sat down and almost fell to her butt on the floor.
"Do you need anything? Milk? Water?" Nayeon just shook her head, and laid herself down and got comfier.
"I guess you're sleeping here after all." He said, sighing. Nayeon was fast asleep now, her mouth open and in a weirdly unladylike position on his couch. Even with so much trouble she had caused over tonight, he smiled at how funny his sister looked. He knew it - he couldn't resist caring for his sister, even if she was drunk.
He laid down a blanket he got for her upstairs. Then, he went up to his own bedroom.
-morning-
It was eight in the morning. Jaebum always wakes up early, and was ready and clean by the time he was cooking breakfast. Nayeon, however, was still asleep on his couch.
"Nayeon-ah", he said poking her forehead. Then, he just started shaking her. "Nayeon-ah, wake up. Breakfast is ready." The girl sat up as he made his way back to the kitchen. She groaned with how hung-over she was, and drank the glass of water her brother had laid on the table and closed her eyes to relieve the pain.
He made his way back with two plates and laid them both down on the coffee table for them to eat. He had a mug of coffee as well and sipped on it.
He noticed that Nayeon wasn't eating. "Aren't you going to eat?" She was just sitting there, staring at her plate blankly. She was still upset about that Jackson guy, and it clearly showed.
"Nayeon." She looked at him. "Are you okay?" She shook her head.
"Aish." He got up and squeezed in beside her, and she adjusted. He patted on his shoulder, which signified Nayeon to lay her head on it, and she did. She sighed.
"Don't be so upset over a guy, Nayeon-ah," he said as he ate some breakfast. "Men are stupid. They tend to do things without thinking about them." He stopped to chew. "Take it from a man."
"He broke up with me, oppa. It hurts."
"That goes for all break-ups. It won't last long. Besides, no relationship is meant to last forever. If one does, it's impossibly hard to find." He chewed again. "If he knows no better than to break up with you, then he's just a coward."
Nayeon smiled at his brother's remark. "You're bluffing."
"I'm not. I'm your brother, I know you."
"And I'm your sister. I know when you're mocking me."
"Just go with it. It's the best I can do."
"Thanks, oppa." Nayeon lifted her head. "Sorry for the trouble."
"Don't sweat it. It's fine." Nayeon laid on his shoulder again. "It's not free, though."
He felt Nayeon roll her eyes. "What will it cost me this time?" she asked.
"A new shirt," he replied. "You ruined mine last night with your tears full of makeup."
Nayeon chuckled. "I'll buy you a new one, whatever."
"Good. Now eat. I cooked breakfast."
